No, we are in Weimar Republic

No, we are in Weimar Republic days, which created the atmosphere for the rise of groups like the Nazi's.

Same or worse

We have the V-1 rocket terror attacks updated to drones, secret courts, secret laws, secret legal interpretations, courts operating outside the judicial system, secret kill lists, mass warrantless surveillance, indefinite detention, torture, forced medical procedures [like forced blood draws], forced violation of Hippocratic oaths handing over personal medical records to the state without warrant and then publishing them online without consent, federalized police forces, militarized police forces, military operating in domestic law enforcement, seizure of civilian assets with no due process via civil forfeiture, preemptive war as a principle, multiple undeclared wars, are bombing multiple countries like Yemen, Somalia and Pakistan where they claim there is no war, reliance on militarism for domestic economic spending, proliferating regulation of every aspect of life, massive inflation.... And, don't forget the mass theft of land from the Indians and elsewhere along with the imprisonment of Americans in concentration camps during WWII. Anything Nazi Germany did, Amerika has done also or worse.

Seven steps in the life cycles of great powers

Some parallels but not full blown national socialism. For all the negatives they believed in sound money and were against reserve banking. More like Rome and the cycles of empire.

1. The age of outburst (or pioneers). - Done

2. The age of conquests. - Some would say still attempting

3. The age of commerce. - Declining

4. The age of affluence. - Declining, now in age of credit

5. The age of intellect. - Yes / No, still a lot of innovators. But general education is declining. Our parents and grandparents got more from their high school educations.

6. The age of decadence. - Yes, its all about "me". Characterized by a general "softness". Narcissism. Entitlement. Shirking responsibility.

** I believe we are @ 6.5.. Corporatocracy, Oligarchy, Placate people with more Socialism (something for nothing to keep people quiet - serves the entitled and enables the skirkers. Leaves the Oligarchy to do as they please).

7. The age of decline and collapse. - When a state goes into irreversible debt and is over-extended. Are we here? We are damned close. Can it be reversed?

"One resists the invasion of armies; one does not resist the invasion of ideas" Victor Hugo

Not Nazis exactly.

TPTB use a lot of their techniques and copy their national security system (DHS = RSHA) but there are important distinctions - there is no "ideology" and no "Leader". What we actually have is a corporate/bureaucratic state run by disaffected plutocrats and their minions. For a historical model I think Rome is a closer anlogy The late Republic gor is guess but it is difficult to see where we are exactly except in retrospect. History doesn't repeat itself but does rhyme. .

'post-Constitutional' America

- sounds apt

That hurt

"post-constitutional America" feels like a kick in the stomach...

Time to INVESTIGATE the investigators of 9/11. PROSECUTE the prosecutors. EXPOSE the cover-up.

Word magic

I know someone in Russia who has traced back the Nazi Symbol (so called) back into History well before the Symbol became a Symbol of Evil.

What does the user of the word Nazi mean when they use the word?

There are many people who have traced back the flow of POWER (follow the money) as the flow of POWER flowed into the Nazi Party in order for the Nazi Party to then become what it became.

Financing all sides in all wars by war profiteers is not news, by the way.

So...the few most powerfully criminal among mankind cause the rest of mankind to send those few everything extra (above that which is needed or wanted - also known as surplus wealth) and those few spend that extra on making sure those few keep getting everything extra.

They, those few, buy World Wars.

They use word magic to make people believe that it is a good idea to send those few everything.

Those few are so drunk on power that they may actually be eating babies alive, and the victims are told never to ask.

I ask.

I don't listen well to dictates.

You can keep on listening.

Call those few anything other than criminals, as you are told, and you can call them Capitalists, Communists, Nationalists, Socialists, Monarchists, Mercantilists, Nazis, Fascists, Monopolists, Central Bankers, Elite (that is a real winner), Royal, The Authorities, The World Bank, The New World Order, The Dollar Hegemony, The Military Industrial Complex, The Vampires, the Jesuits, The Holy See, the Narcissists, the Nihilists, The Sociopaths, The Psychopaths, The War Pigs, The War Profiteers, The Rich, The Powerful, The Powers that Be, on, and on, and on.

Just don't call them late for dinner.

Pay when ordered.

Pay as much as ordered.

Don't question the payments.

Section 4.
The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned.

When a victim is denied due process it isn't.

When no victim is denied due process it is: crime is no longer considered to be legal.

Criminals are merely criminals.

Am I the only one here that has been recording the purchase of World War III, on schedule, and obviously Russia and U.S.A. (Inc. LLC) have the short straw, while China is going to be picking up the pieces on schedule?

What no accurate accounting yet?

Economically we are just about there

- State & Business in bed.
- Growing socialism
- Militarism, high employment through MIC & gov't spending
- No political party competition (Reps/Dems the same)

National Socialist Germany was an Autarky. We are not. They believed in gold-backed currency, we do not.

With regards to justice we are approaching the methods of National Socialism: internal spying, abuse of habeus corpus, militarization of the police, increasingly unjust court system & the infamous citizen hit list.

We are on a bad path. There are too many similarities for comfort.

Think back to the horror stories...

Jackboots raping women and calling it cavity searches... check.

Jackboots demanding your papers for being present... check.

Jackboots killing and harming citizens just because... check.

Prison camps used as slave labor... check.

Theft for nationalism used to finance the war machine... check.

The difference? We have 20 of those stories for every legitimate one from Nazi Germany.

Our police force has the "right" to perform medical procedures on you without consent now! For those still stuck in the theoretical, philosophical debate... It's moved beyond that.

The Philosophy Of Liberty -

"Moved Beyond That"

Yes. We are acting like a nation of boiling frogs. The deceit is lost on many.

The wildest dreams of the Nazis.

The Philosophy Of Liberty -

We are further down the road than the Nazis were.

If Nazi Germany had the powers currently enjoyed by the U.S. government, not a single Jew would have survived.
And if you figure in all the babies we kill through the abortion mills, then Nazi Germany is but a pimple on our ass.

sustainable development = Naziism, Communism, Fascism

As Rob pointed out below, Naziism didn't die with Hitler, but Fascism didn't die with Mussolini and Communism didn't die with the downfall of the USSR, either.
The great snakes of the UN combined all 3 into 'sustainable development' (SD) and every country in the world has embedded parts of if not all aspects of SD into their legislations.
The main tenet of SD is central control of EVERYTHING, control emanating from and dictated by the UN run by unseen forces.
Look at the UN's logo, the entire world being squeezed by the UN's Corona Radiata indicating the UN as the New Roman Empire.
And what about its motto? 'It's your World' - let me off it then!
Look at the institutions the UN created - The World Bank, IMF, WHO, Codex Alimentarious,United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)... and the list goes on.
Kill the UN and extract its venom from our nation and maybe we can get back on the right track.

In terms of the attitude of the people,

we are still pre-WWII Nazi Germany. As they learned though, the ax can come down quickly.
People seem to know things aren't right, but they deal with it by being indifferent; ignoring it...too much to face I guess. This makes us highly vulnerable in the same way the Germans were.
Today however, it is not as easy to identify a pure fascist or communist as it was in the '30s/'40s. From my observations, it seems communists have forfeited their own economic model, and have adopted state control of the means of production, rather than outright ownership. Both left and right love Public/Private Partnerships, as an example, which is basic fascism, and wholly unconstitutional.
I don't think we will see a Nazi Germany type full scale militaristic dictatorship here soon. We are heading towards a soft tyranny of the willing for sure though, which will make life for dissenters very uncomfortable.

Undo what Wilson did

Well E, since you asked so nicely......

We are most assuredly a Fascist State now, by definition.

By example we image the " Octavian Republic ", that is we make a pretense of a Republic but in fact are a Fascism.

The why of it is Obvious, but openly stated: it is to mollify the masses into a pseudo state of acceptance of a change readily apparent that is unacceptable, but held hidden by normalcy bias of those whom live within it.

Fear: face everything and respond or fuck everything and run, we choose.

Can we make direct correlations to events in Nazi Germany ? Of course, anyone can stretch an current event, or series of events to reshow a historical event of similar characteristics and make a substantial case for comparisons sake. For example today's electronic prison of populations is as efficient as the system of informants in Nazi Germany and its conquered territories were.

But so far we, have yet to mime the more egregious crimes of that regime: but either facts of fairy tales ( dependent upon your view point and bias ) tell that these preparations and facilities exist awaiting just an order to commence.

I think the greater question is: does present leadership hold within itself the qualities of character which are necessary to replicate Nazi German Fascism here? To which i'd have to answer in the affirmative, for they seem to have neglected honor in that they continue to disguise and deny the obvious state of Fascism existing already.

This then begs the question, what's holding them back?

didn't die w/Hitler - as we've been told (all lies). It moved here to the US (maybe by design), and has taken over in the form of Corporatism and Evil. It was raised and nurtured by people like the BUSH family, until now it is: in your face / whatcha gonna do about it obvious.

We've been in bed with the Nazis for the last 50 years.

Operation Paperclip was the codename under which the US intelligence and military services extricated scientists from Germany, during and after the final stages of World War II. The project was originally called Operation Overcast, and is sometimes also known as Project Paperclip.

very close, too close--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Management has evolved.

Just like the prison system, the modern day government has learned more effective management techniques.
In the past, a warden trying to gain more control in his prison might decide to drastically limit the amount of property an inmate can have. He would then announce to the inmate population how it is to be and then send his officers to immediately confiscate the property - enraging the inmate population. Think of Attica.
In today's world, the prison would announce the planned reductions, but would phase them in gradually over a period of years while simultaneously giving some extra perk - maybe more food. The inmate population would then be quite at ease with the transition.
In this modern age, no government is going to suddenly seize all our guns or property or whatever - all at once. They will take these things slowly, one step at a time, while simultaneously giving us new "Rights" such as healthcare or a "living wage" or more foodstamps.
Therefore, it is difficult to determine how closely we relate to Nazi Germany.
We do know that fascism (combining corporations with govt) is increasing rapidly in the U.S.

Spain seemed to do well under Francoist fascism.

Yes, there were the occasional round-ups of Communist agitators, but until the late nineteen-sixties, when "neo-conservative" groups and the post-Vatican II Catholic church turned against Francisco Franco's dictatorship, the country seems to have been more prosperous and secure than it has been since he died and the socialists gained control. In fact, today, there seems to be a rise in calls for a return to the "good old days" of relative prosperity.
