The French Paradox

The French Paradox refers to the fact that, despite a very high fat diet, the French enjoy long, healthy lives. The red wine that they copiously consume seems to be the reason. This phenomenon has inspired me to write a celebratory poem. Cheers!

The French Paradox

The French Paradox has me feeling fine,
Because I can eat lots of fat if I drink lots of wine,
I had always thought that the key to longevity,
Was Spartan severity,
But hallelujah that's not true at all,
For the Methuselah factor is alcohol!

You've inspired me to write a new poem :)

the French are so worldly
they drink coffee from a cup
but when you must go poo
they make you stand up

here I stand broken hearted
tried to poo but only farted
legs are tired and cheeks are sore
I cannot take another pour

of coffee so thick and black
stooping over this hole hurts my back
when o'when will my poo fall?
so I can sit down and enjoy Gaul
