I agree that the only way we

I agree that the only way we can remove these Status Quo Corruptors of our freedoms, is to do what these Liberty Republicans . a good post

Lawyers

I don't know why people despise lawyers. An ex-attorney, the training and aptitude in the courtroom really pay off for Greenwald.

I loved how he quotes CBS back to whatshisname. (Reminded me of Dr. Paul quoting Congressional history back to Congress.) They both either know this stuff, or prep in advance for the totally predictable questions.

When attorneys defend the guilty, they are defending due process and the rights of all of us. That's much more heroic than someone who only defends the innocent or who goes for a conviction at all costs to our rights.

Where are the explosive revelations?

Glenn...When are we going to get to those explosive revelations?
You know, the ones you keep "carroting" in front of us, I'm really interested in the Bush-Cheney era e-mails, pre-9/11, and the weapons of mass destruction hog-wash data.
Someone has it, when will we get to see it?

becareful what you wish for

America is on a very slippery slope as it is. Such revelation are not without costs and consequences. Perhaps the main reason for withholding that information from the public isnt for the protection of Mr. Snowden, but to maintain Americas peace between foreign countries such as Russia and China.

His name is Edward Snowden

a little off topic but that

a little off topic but that is a terrible green screen -__-

He's in Brazil

I don't know if it's a green-screen, or another type of backdrop, or real, but Greenwald is said to be in Brazil.

Why Brazil? That's what I've been wondering. I will refrain from conspiracy theories.

He answered that question.

His husband is from Brazil. Brazil recognizes same sex marriage. So given the choice between the two homes, there apparently was no choice for him. Without the US recognizing same sex marriages, his husband couldn't be granted a right to stay in the US. He, was however, granted that right based on his partner's Brazilian citizenship. So it was Brazil or break up apparently.

So it's personal and not political.

Do You Think That You Ever Got Away With Piracy?

They know all of your internet traffic, searches, downloads...

So has anyone ever really "gotten away" with piracy? Someone could easily know all downloading activity...

at least George didn't get in his way

"but do we have any evidence that this capability, pretty explosive capability, any evidence that it was used" -Stephanopoulos

Greenwald went easy on Stephanopoulos and didn't even chuckle before answering directly with reports of abuse. Perhaps Glenn has grown bored with the idiocy of MSM news hacks.

I'm confused

Did Glenn just state that the NSA is *storing* emails, Google searches and phone calls? I thought it was just the metadata.

If Glenn is claiming the NSA is storing more than metadata, this is going to explode.

side note ...that means they have a record of all my pervy Google video searches. Crap!

not anymore you're not

Yes, he's one of the few that's actually been saying this for years.

Yes, stand back and enjoy the pretty colors. :D

Yes, don't forget to flush. ;)

ALL data is data.

I have been trying to explain this to many.

Tracking ANY data, phone numbers, call times, etc is DATA, not metadata.

Metadata means a description of the type of data. So as an example.

Metadata = a phone number may be as long as 10 digits.
Data = 879-909-1010

They have made an attempt to redefine what "metadata" means to trick people into going along with it.

They are NOT tracking/storing metadata. That is actually an oxymoron. They are tracking and storing data. How much data, and what types is up for debate, but it is most certainly NOT metadata.

The goal is total, all of it!

"How much data, and what types is up for debate"

Their current level of proficiency is not as much of a concern as their goal.

"How much?" and "What types?" concerning their goal are "ALL" and "ALL"!

This has been increasingly evident for decades.

It is global.

On that side note I was

On that side note I was thinking the same thing crap. lol

Why do you think all the

Why do you think all the politicians are both upset over these revelations but also cowed by them? They know NSA has ALL the dirt on them and what can they do? They don't want to get singled out. Everyone is contolled...the judges, the pols, everyone

Good strategy ES. Stay out of

Good strategy ES. Stay out of the news as much as possible, but say something Tuesday night to get them to reference Wednesday's NSA hearings. Otherwise there won't be any mention of the hearings in MSM that day.

Hell yeah!

Glenn just killed it again.

"I DEFY THEM TO DENY THAT THESE PROGRAMS

work exactly as I just said."

Greenwald does a great job keeping the focus on the crimes of the NSA and INFORMATION that Snowden exposed, instead of Snowden.

Looks like this is going to be a big week with the congressional hearings. We are going to see how much "keep it under the rug" power the establishment still has.

Will Be a Good Week For...

Great VID.

I thought CSPAN wold bring transparency when it was introduced decades ago, but few people (including myself) had time to watch it.

However, having this on a 20 minute vid that remains on record is incredibly enlightening.

Low-Level NSA Analysts Have ‘Powerful and Invasive’ Search Tool

Today on “This Week,” Glenn Greenwald – the reporter who broke the story about the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs – claimed that those NSA programs allowed even low-level analysts to search the private emails and phone calls of Americans.
