Only God should be feared.

When we think about what we should fear, it is only God that comes to my mind. He is by all accounts the only one that can destroy both our body and condemn our soul to a endless time away from his presence. His grace has sustained our forefathers and his power has given us the strength to resist evil.

Now we are set upon once again by another despot who believes he has the authority to kill us and get away with it. No one with an IQ over room temperature is not now aware that America has gone rogue. She is like a speeding train rolling down the mountain side with no engineer guiding her. Only God almighty can save this lost Country.

But be of good cheer, because we are living in exciting times. It will be what we do or don't do for that matter which will be written about in the history books. In the not to distant future, we will be known by our works, not our words. Only the fool will miss out on this opportunity to make a difference in history. We are by no means the first to face these challenges nor will be be the last, but for the first time in our life we, those of us who are awaken realize how important each and every one of us are.

I for one hope that I am up to do my part. Our neighbors are waking up by the minute and our leaders which we have elected are realizing that they are not fooling the general public any more. They have put into place a system of government that will shield them from those who they were elected to represent. As it has always happened, devils have reached for the levers of power to control their fellow man, but why should we fear these demons when we have God on our side.

Now some of you may be an atheist or a Deist and that of course is your choice but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord and trust in him. "But we will also resist evil with every breath in our body." We will look on high to Him who gives us life and restores our soul. This is once again another time in history where evil will not prevail and good will rise up to save our most precious Country.

Good stuff

Unadulterated sarcasm at its best...

Not "fear, as that word is used today... but, awe, respect.

Thanks. Awe sounds better.

.. but it is still not without dread. Does that mean you are not suppossed to question but accept?

From Webster's:

Awe: an emotion variously combining dread, veneration, and wonder that is inspired by authority or by the sacred or sublime.

Sublime: to elevate or exalt especially in dignity or honor. (sounding better)

Exalt: to elevate by praise or in estimation.

The power of God is "awesome". I belive that is where the

fear part comes in. Bad analogy but, here goes: Think of a pot of boiling water on the stove. The cooled, sterilized water has many benefits (cleaning wounds, safe drinking, etc.). It's also got great benefits when used piping hot (to make coffee, tea, soups, etc.). As beneficial as that hot, boiling water is, you don't want to have it spill or splash on you for obvious reasons. So, you demonstrate "respect" for the boiling water in the way you are careful about handling it, because you need that "awesome" water and "fear" the consequences of mishandling it.

Okay, I know it's not a great example but, the idea is there and gets the concept of "fear" across. You would dread the consequences of not respecting the awesome power of boiling water.

Got it now

Thanks for the insight. Disclosure - I am non-religious.. lacking religion, etc.. whatever you want to call it but it is not an "ism".

So, I ask to get an understanding of another point of view which clearly exists. Rather be informed than ignorant.

I agree

I fear a Dictator.

SteveO24's picture

I do not

fear God... Why would a God want us all to bow down and worship it... just so weird

SteveO24's picture

Fear is the problem

I'd rather cruise the Universe!

Freedom

Should I not believe what I want to believe in or not? Or die in fire for all of eternity?

SteveO24's picture

If you do believe

in a God that does that then torture is moral.

Exactly! Its only horrible

Exactly! Its only horrible deplorable evil until it's god doing it. Then its love.

Remember, when in doubt: BURN THE WITCH!

I think there have also been a handful of really powerful earthly dictators who were able to express love through torture camps too, even though they didn't have super powers. It takes a shit load of political power before torture camps become good and just. I think the secret is in scaring the holy living @#$% out of weak minded victims until they are able to pull the old switcharoo where they turn logic into mush and subserviance.

"I only want the eye surgery so I can see our GLORIOUS LEADER again" Says the N. Korean peasant scared out of her freaking mind until she becomes a drone for the state. Reminds me of church.

The Dark Side...

That is the dark side, the abuse. When people are under control there is always someone looking to leverage that power with bad intentions.

... the dark side of human nature.

Indeed, I too greatly fear

Indeed, I too greatly fear the cosmic overlord. What the hell are you supposed to do against a diety who can cast ninth level spells and take 1 million actions per round!? You can't beat that, no matter how many HP you have! God loves you so much that he can murder you right in your face without even twitching a wrist! He's got like 10,000 ranks in torture by fire so that not even Ghandi can make his will save vs. ultimate suffering. (Pfft. punk ass Hindu. May he burn for eternity for his evil deed of choosing the wrong religeon.)

It just goes to show; Jesus saves, everyone else takes full damage.

All hail the mighty Super KING! Master of the universe and destroyer of all who grovel not sufficiently enough before HIS spectacular divine feet! As everyone knows, having super powers allows you to do any fucked up shit you want and call it good.

I knew you would show up, how

I knew you would show up, how has your day been :)

Howdy! Not too shabby. You?

Howdy! Not too shabby. You?

Don't you know the first rule of D&D?

Put a deity's stats on paper and someone will figure out a way to kill it.

Very true... now someone

Very true... now someone needs to sneak into the Vatican and steal god's character sheet so we can figure out his weakness. I'll bet its going to be logic, like how Captain Kirk confused the invinciable robot NOMAD by asking it a logicaly looping question it couldn't answer.

Error...ERrorr... ErrrROOorr.. Ker-POW!

Really liked that, thanks for posting...

I agree 100%

Good luck and G-d Bless!

God is On My Side

I have no reason to fear him. But to all the evil ones out there.. I would be scared.

BUMP! Well said, David. VERY well said!

Just hope and pray that God will give us His blessing and guide us during this horrific time. It isn't going to be easy but, it is essential we fight the good fight.

Yes, but he is more loving

Yes, but he is more loving and forgiving than anyone can imagine

You are correct.

Amen.
