WI Capitol Protestors Sing Songs of Freedom as Police Threaten Observing Tourists With Arrest (7-26-13 Video)

Friday, July 26, 2013:

description
"...Groups of officers would march into the rotunda and seemingly randomly select 3-5 people and cuff them and bring them downstairs. They did this every 8-12 minutes.

But above the singers were dozens of people watching, bearing witness to the gross police and political misconduct, just checking what was going on, touring the capitol with their family, along with a contingent of Republican staffers getting off watching the real life police porn.

Police started warning random groups of onlookers that if they didn't immediately disperse they to would be arrested. Many of those warned were tourists visiting from out of town."

STOP

I am sorry, I am all for Freedom, but this is getting out of hand. Anytime a cop tries to do his job, some nutjob shoves a camera in his face and says he is unconstitutional.....don't gather in mobs in the capitol building and act like a bunch of clowns, and the cops wouldn't be there in the first place, go ahead, vote me down. This is the kind of crap that makes everyone call us loonies, this will be the only type of stuff they will show on FOX, and we wonder why it is so hard to get people to follow our movement...

you are a dork.

dork and dunski hey.

Nice rebuttal...

Nice rebuttal...

I must aplogize, so if you may allow me at this time to do so.

I apologize that I am not able to correct my typographical error when I called you a dork. I should have capitalized the first letter of the sentence. Regretfully I was using a digital communication device which inhibited my ability to us proper syntactical devices for the proper interpretation of my inferences and intentions.

Guh ger ga duh d-d-duh duh-d-d-da DORK.

What were they protesting?

What were they protesting?

Wisconsin led the nation in labor reform -collective bargaining,

unemployment insurance, worker's compensation.

Governor Scott Walker hates teachers and other state employees, so using the emotionally charged excuse of the state's out of control budget, he used his powers as dictator to end collective bargaining for state employees. The AFL-CIO explains this better:

Walker said, quote, "I will use divide and conquer to avoid recall." Regardless of what one thinks about the issue itself, it is clear that a governor is not supposed to make decisions like this unilaterally.

What's wrong with that?

I hate state parasites. Remove the parasites before they kill the host.

Just because someone is a teacher doesn't make them immune to reality. The NEA bargained unrealistic pensions and when reality hits, you expect the entire state to go bankrupt so that teachers and other state workers can have a better living that me? Hell no!!

AFL-CIO can kiss my hairy white ass. None have been more delusional and superficial than AFL-CIO. The only time the head honchos of the AFL-CIO get off their fat over paid ass is when their gravy train gets threatened to be taken away.

Even that ardent socialist shit bag FDR was against state and federal unions. What does that tell you?

Live by statism die by statism

This is like watching the crips and the bloods fight it out. Which criminal gang am I supposed to pull for again?

The unions have held the taxpayer hostage for decades and when they don't get their way for once they have a tantrum.

The arrests are bullshit, but it's really hard to work up outrage here. These guys have been very happy to use government power against the people. Now it's being used against them. Boo hoo.

If I were a juror seeing this case I would of course acquit the protesters of all charges. But damn it would be irritating to have to do.

U gotta be Kiddin me

I hate over paid PUBLIC school whinners too .. they got a freakin monopoly and keep squeein more and more money outta the ta payers via the unjust property rent i mean ta ... so for you to defend these ahats is beyond funny

I don't know or care what or why they were protesting.

All I care about is the arrests.

Don't feed the pandas. Ever.

I don't believe you understand the issue.

This has nothing at all to do with unions, teachers, or wages.

Where do you come up with this stuff???

Don't feed the pandas. Ever.

Been eating too much of your own cheese?

This has everything to do with Unions. As it was the state employee unions who were throwing the biggest temper tantrums.

Where do you get your info from? Ohh right, directly from the AFL-CIO.

I guess there is nothing more that needs to be said...........

I still don't understand what the arresting of observers

of protestors has to do with labor unions or wages or anything else.

This is about the rights of free speech and assembly.

maybe sometime later I'll learn about these unions or whatever the issue is but in the meantime cops are arresting people for singing songs. Educate me.

Don't feed the pandas. Ever.

Maybe he got it from this....

Well somewhat ironic

I agree they have a right to protest and shouldn't need a permit to express 1st admendment rights .. But to say these clowns are for Freedom is beyond ridiculous .. They protested the elimination of collective barganing "privledges" for Public workers which was screwing the tax payers .. there shouldn't be a Public monopoly and i am glad it is over, this guys are typical progressive STATISTS .. so freedom is far from thier thought process

Well-said!

I'm a Wisconsinite and agree 100%!

When the American spirit was in its youth, the language of America was different: Liberty, sir, was the primary object. - Patrick Henry

Freedom

Well this sure smacks of freedom doesn't it?

This is sickening

Whatever Isn't Specifically Permitted

is otherwise prohibited.

Welcome to the New World Order MoFo's, right here in the Good Ol' US of A.

SteveMT's picture

It should be the opposite in a normal right side up world.

This world however is upside down.

Waiting for the welfare dime
'Cause they can't buy a job

This is our country

Own it

fills me with hope And as

fills me with hope

And as much as it shames me, but being arrested, their REASONS for the arrests, is what i believe will break the camels back one day.......there is only so many times they can lie, cheat and use force, before even the general masses start to see somethings not right......

thanks to all the folks who participated, knowing that to go, would likely be putting your lives in direct contact to the corruption, as it was shown.....by the unconstitutional arrests

and to add to what you said...

witness all those who put their hands out to willingly be arrested but yet were not.

A statement that the act of arresting means something, to the victim as well as to the witness.

...under its own weight...

I'm from WI,.... funny little story

I'm in a band which I won't mention the name of (due to immature adult humorous nature of it) 5 of the six of us are huge Ron Paul supporters but we keep our political views very vague. We never come out in support of Ron Paul because frankly we don't want to endorse him with the type of things we sing about, and actually during the 2012 election cycle we were talking about fully endorsing Romney in a satirical way.

Anyways, We played a show at a club just 2 blocks away from the capital building, and I said something and I wasn't sure how the audience was going to take it (mostly liberal types), only because a lot of the time I have a hard time discerning if liberal types are for or against government. What I said actually got a great response, and it was: "This next song is written about something I would like to do down the street on the steps of the capital, this song is 'Pushing out a big one'". Ha they loved it.

Beep beep boop beep... I am a Paulbot... prepare for liberty and prosperity!

Was it The Great Dane? A yes or no will suffice.

Well it has been 14 years since I lived there, but by the way you describe your band's music I can think of a couple places that close to the capitol that would have hosted a group like yours. Some to the southeast and some to the northeast (or any on Williamson).

Don't feed the pandas. Ever.

No

It was the Dragonfly Lounge, I think it's relatively new. We've played in Madison twice, the other place we played was the Annex.

Beep beep boop beep... I am a Paulbot... prepare for liberty and prosperity!

Anything northeast of the capitol is anti...

One thing I can guarantee, though. Regardless of what it's called now, I drank there.
