Sen. John McCain Releases 'DISGUSTING' Statement To Russians On Edward Snowden Asylum

Sen. John McCain Release 'DISGUSTING' Statement To Russians On Edward Snowden Asylum

August 1, 2013

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator John McCain today released the following statement regarding reports that the Russian government has granted Edward Snowden a one-year asylum:

“Russia’s action today is a disgrace and a deliberate effort to embarrass the United States. It is a slap in the face of all Americans. Now is the time to fundamentally rethink our relationship with Putin’s Russia. We need to deal with the Russia that is, not the Russia we might wish for. We cannot allow today’s action by Putin to stand without serious repercussions.

“The first thing we should do is significantly expand the Magnitsky Act list to hold accountable the many human violators who are still enjoying a culture of impunity in Russia. We should push for the completion of all phases of our missile defense programs in Europe, and move expeditiously on another round of NATO expansion, including the Republic of Georgia. We should challenge the political convictions and detentions of Russian dissidents such as Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Alexei Navalny. And perhaps most importantly, we should speak out on behalf of the many people in Russia who increasingly are finding the courage to peacefully demand greater freedom, accountability, and rule of law in Russia.

“Today’s action by Putin’s Russia should finally strip away the illusions that many Americans have had about Russia the past few years. We have long needed to take a more realistic approach to our relations with Russia, and I hope today we finally start.”

I just sent John McCain a letter.

John McCain,

Edward Snowden revealed corruption in the US government. He did the American people a favor. It is against the US Constitution and the vision/intent of our forefathers to spy/collect private data on Americans. As a Republican and more importantly, as an American, you should be ashamed of yourself for sticking up for the corruption going on behind the scenes against the American people and the US Constitution! I don't need the government to keep me safe from men in caves. I don't need the government spying on my grandmother to keep me safe. I have never met a terrorist. I don't personally know anyone who has been in a terrorist attack. The only thing that affects me, is the things YOU guys do that takes away my freedom and my privacy. This is America! The terrorists would like nothing more than to take away my freedom. Thanks to you sir, they are winning! Keep up the good work.

"Discusting"

What a great choice of word!

I am embarrassed he even had a chance to be POTUS.

The ONLY Disgrace...

The only disgrace is the absolute disregard for the U.S. Constitution demonstrated by senators such as John McCain.

May he receive the just punishment befitting of all tyrants and their minions.

This coming from the "Hanoi Songbird", a traitor and candy ass

This fossil traitor gave up more info to the North Vietnamese about our troops and their movements in Nam, during wartime, and because his daddy was a General, comes home to be a Senator?

Just goes to show how badly our government has failed our country and its people!

Make no mistake, John McCain, the "Hanoi Songbird", IS A TRAITOR in the truest sense of the word!

His, and Lindsey Grahams idea of peace is turning the world into a radioactive, glassed over parking lot!

If he had an ounce of honor, or brains, he'd take his millions and use them to hide from society, instead of trying to destroy it!

If you can read this thank a teacher. Because it's in English thank a soldier!

Don't you mean his wife's

Don't you mean his wife's millions?

dont you mean his SECOND wife's millions

he ditched his first wife as soon as he saw an opportunity to gain wealth and power. A wife that was loyal while he was gone 7 years, a wife who poured everything she had into getting him out.

That says all you need to know about the scumbag.

Senator McCain... aka "Senator Yet Another Dropping The Mask"

The very idea contained in "actions speak louder than words" is observably, undoubtedly, completely foreign to senator McCain.

Is it not?

And seemingly, much alike every single one of the notions encompassed by the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights, are for him, too.

True Fiction

A man gets caught red handed while robbing a bank. The police shoot him, wrestle him to the ground, torture him, arrest him, and take him to the jail.

The robber immediately writes a letter to the Mayor.

Dear Honorable Mayor,

Your police are out of control. They caught me, tortured me and threw me in a tiny, smelly hole. This can seriously damage the nice thoughts that I had about your team of thugs. I am now seriously considering cutting off all relations with your township and may never pay taxes again to your township if you guys don't straighten yourselves out.

Your Truly,

I'll take another Cold War with Russia over this BOGUS...

I'll take another Cold War with Russia over this BOGUS war on terror any day of the week. I am a US Navy veteran and have many fond memories of coming along side Soviet ships out at sea. Sailors on both sides always came up on deck to catch a glympse of each other--we even waved to each other--imagine that, sailors on both sides with a mutual respect for each other....sounds horrible doesn't it?? The Russians have always had an affinity for the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63)...having buzzed the flight deck at 100 feet on at least two occasions that I know of...another act of sheer aggression on the part of those horrible Russians...believe me, it's all smiles and "WTF's" and "Did you see that?" and "Did you hear we got buzzed by the Russians?" Never once did I ever hear...we should have blown them out of the Sky....So, with that said Please Mr. Putin, PLEASE initiate another cold war...I miss the good ole days of Olympic Hockey games, Cheesy Rocky movies with the evil Drago, and the competition that makes both sides better. This war on terror leaves a bit to be desired on the competitive front since it is impossible to compete with an "enemy" that isn't there!!

So ugly

This is about Russia, and Snowden. It has nothing to do with Bluffdale, Utah, or storing all the globe's digital communications. Don't look behind the curtain. Shelter in place.

Putin is trying to stop the conflict in Syria? McCain wants us to go into Syria. Who benefits?

Hmm... so let me get this straight...

Senator McCrusty and his cohorts were embarrassed by Edward Snowden informing the American people that they were being illegally spied on and lied to.

Now, since Russia won't turn Snowden over to be tortured and railroaded, he would like to reignite the cold war.

Sounds perfectly logical and rational.

I would like to take McCrusty's position one step further. Since Russia has decided to slap the American Politburo in the face, how about a preemptive nuclear strike in the spirit of the Bush doctrine? We could eliminate Snowden and Russia in one fell swoop. That should keep the war-pigs grinning ear to ear and I'm sure it will somehow help GDP.

Can senator John McCain answer this question :

Can senator John McCain answer this question

[...] The claims of these organizers of humanity raise another question which I have often asked them and which, so far as I know, they have never answered: If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind? The organizers maintain that society, when left undirected, rushes headlong to its inevitable destruction because the instincts of the people are so perverse. The legislators claim to stop this suicidal course and to give it a saner direction. Apparently, then, the legislators and the organizers have received from Heaven an intelligence and virtue that place them beyond and above mankind; if so, let them show their titles to this superiority.

They would be the shepherds over us, their sheep. Certainly such an arrangement presupposes that they are naturally superior to the rest of us. And certainly we are fully justified in demanding from the legislators and organizers proof of this natural superiority [...]

... then I say, break the law.

(Refresher, to the attention of senator John McCain)

"... then I say, break the law."

[...] If the injustice is part of the necessary friction of the machine of government, let it go, let it go: perchance it will wear smooth—certainly the machine will wear out. If the injustice has a spring, or a pulley, or a rope, or a crank, exclusively for itself, then perhaps you may consider whether the remedy will not be worse than the evil; but if it is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then I say, break the law. Let your life be a counter-friction to stop the machine. What I have to do is to see, at any rate, that I do not lend myself to the wrong which I condem [...]

I guess I'm not alone

What is a disgrace and embarrassment to this country...

...is the corruption of this gov't, as well as the antics of people like John McCain.

What is a disgrace and embarrassment to this country is that those exposing the government's crimes are treated as the criminals and are forced to seek refuge somewhere other than the land of the (formerly) free.

John McCain...

The Benedict Arnold of our day.

To the Russian People

John McCain does not speak for me.

To most Americans who are paying attention, it is obvious that the United States is transitioning from a free and open society, to an Orwellian nightmare state of epic proportions. What used to be a beacon for freedom, is now infected with a cancer. John McCain IS but one of the countless tumors that are contributing to the death of this republic. John McCain has no honor, and his allegiance is to those with money and power. Regardless of why the Russian Government granted Edward Snowden asylum, it was the right thing to do. It is a relief to this American Veteran to know that Russia still has the balls to stand up to America, and show the world that they can and will protect those who need to be protected (regardless of motive.) I fully and completely understand the human rights record of the Soviet Union and present day Russia--but in THIS case your country showed that it can do the right thing. Anyone who would question my loyalty to the USA, is nothing more than a sheep, troll or just plain closed minded. It is funny to watch a tyrant have a temper tantrum isn't it? Peace....oh and Ed Snowden and Glenn Greenwald....THANK YOU!!!!!

This guy...

must be on something. He's completely lost his freaking mind, there is no other excuse for his ridiculousness. Where is the support for more tension with Russia? It's non existent.

Furthermore, does McCain think Putin gives a rats ass?

Arizona PLEASE kick this guy to the curb and FAST he's making this country look f.....g stupid.

Completely insane McCain. I am thoroughly disgusted that I voted for this crackpot warmonger in 08 too.
