On The Convenient Non-Event of August 4, 2013

In recent weeks, there has been light shed on the over-reaching nature of the security apparatus and how it unlawfully targets US citizens under the FISA court programs, which were supposedly designed to target foreign nationals. Congressmen have been speaking out, to the extent they can, saying that Snowden was telling the truth. The spinmeisters have been working over time to convince us the boogeymen of Al Quada, though defeated by our billions and trillions of dollars and thousands of lives, are still a threat that must be dealt with.

Then, all the sudden, it is "reported" that these programs led to "intercepting" communications that show that al quaeda was going to launch an attack on our embassies. So, to emphasize the big deal nature of it all, all north african and middle eastern embassies are shut down. And a big deal is broadcast all over the international media. Then, nothing happens. Victory is declared.

There are a few problems with this. First, we've been told that Al Quada was reduced to a few scattered groups of cave dwelling madmen and no longer a credible threat. Mission Accomplished and all that. So what gives? Did they start taking vitamins? We'll never know. But now the boogeyman is supposedly back and capable.

But what bugs me is that, if this isn't completely fabricated (which is the most likely explanation for this whole charade to my way of thinking) what kind of message does this send? That a couple of cave dwellers can get on their cell phones and say a few key words and then sit back and laugh as we shut down? That we can't just be on alert and keep our facilities safe?

I haven't heard it said yet, but I am willing to bet that there is some blowhard running around congress already saying that this shows how we need to be getting groped at airports, getting spied on without warrants as us citizens, getting exposed to mor eand more police state nonsense on a daily basis in the land of the purported free. Let's collect their quotes here. I bet McCain will issue a statement along these lines, he's a given, so is Peter King, and several others. It'll be funny to keep track of their gibberish on this issue.

And what about the convenient absence of Barnaby Jack

And what about the convenient absence of Barnaby Jack from the conf' where he was supposed to speak lately?

Barnaby Jack, renown hacker, dies at 35 (7/28/2013) :

I don't know about you, but I find there is by now quite a number of oh-so-convenient unfortunate coincidences piling up, in this country...

(besides everything else, of course, that even the MSM can't pretend it would be coincidental anyhow)

"Cyril" pronounced "see real". I code stuff.

The conspiracy theory side of

The conspiracy theory side of me imagines a few scenarios playing out:

1) Something actually does happen (false flag, LIHOP, ect included) and the statist can say 'see! we told you NSA spying works! We need it!!'

2) Nothing happens during this span of time, but once gov't operations continues early september there may be a protest akin to benghazi on 9/11, and the statists can say, 'see! we intercepted and did something about it, but they still attacked us! Snowden is a traitor because they knew to delay it! We needed to keep it secret!1!'

3) nothing happens at all, statists say 'see! the nsa spying program works! we took steps to prevent an 'attack'!!1'

I hope no one gets hurt and its #3, but I'm excited to see how this plays out... Getting the popcorn ready.

so far it's number 3

What a great ruse! This allows them to declare victory when nothing happens!

It's all Bull.

They will be upgrading comunications, and wiring up a master command center for the imminent war with Syria and Iran.
I wonder why Mr Glenn Greenwald doesn't "break" that from the good folks at The Guardian.
As an aside, notice how so many oxymoronic names are around, and what they imply? The Guardian, to guard, The United Nations (under force and oppression) The Nobel Peace prize, to war mongers, the Patriot award to Hilary Clinton.
If it wasn't so sad, it would be side splittingly funny.
