Gunman Kills Three at Ross Township Meeting

SAYLORSBURG, Pa. — A disabled junk dealer feuding with local officials over his debris-strewn property packed a rental car with guns and ammunition before opening fire at a town meeting and killing three men, authorities said Tuesday.

Rockne Newell, 59, had lost his property this year in a court fight over complaints that he lived in a storage shed, built an illegal culvert and used a bucket outside as a toilet.

At his arraignment on homicide charges Tuesday morning, a judge asked Newell if he owned any real estate.

"They stole it from me. That's what started all this," he replied.

Ruling in the township's favor, Monroe County Court last August ordered Rockne Newell, 59, to vacate and never again occupy or use the property, unless he has the proper permits to do so.

The township's efforts to take over the land he's owned since 1990 are the latest development in an 18-year battle against Newell.

It sounds like his 1.2 acres in a scenic area was a real eyesore. Too bad those who were so concerned didn't just ante up and clean up their neighborhood instead of stealing it.

Wonder which arm of the Military Industrial Banking complex gets the shockingly expensive "Bomb/drug/people sniffing dog training" money?

I expect to see things like

I expect to see things like this as people get more desperate, while the government continues to push their backs against the wall. You'd think government employees would get a clue and let up on the people a bit.
