Assertive: having or showing determination and energetic pursuit of your ends.
Assertiveness: involves standing up for personal rights and expressing thoughts, feeling and beliefs in direct, honest and appropriate ways which DO NOT violate another person's rights.
Assert: to state or express positively
And finally the negatives of assertive: puffed up, domineering, dictatorial... (ie: every other candidate)
Ron Paul is assertive! In the positive.
To all those who want to criticize him for not being assertive. Please...assert this (my foot) up your you no what!
Sorry...but this has really ticked me off.

Exactly
Assertive drivers are better than aggressive drivers, and the same probably holds true for politicians as well!
Jesus is my Lord and my God, and Ron Paul, champion of all things freedom, including religion and the free exercise thereof, is my choice for president.

Speaking to his audience
The problem isn't his assertiveness it's his inability to speak to his audience. Well unless he meant in his Mccain question to speak to Wallstreet traders.
That's precisely who Dr. Paul was representing
Think about it. The financial markets have been experiencing unprecedented upheavals globally for the last week. Financial analysts and investors all around the world are keenly interested in what lead our country might take in the financial markets with a new president. Of course Dr. Paul's question was asked on behalf of Wallstreet traders (and all the other traders, investors and financial gurus). THEY understood Dr. Paul's question AND they saw John McCain's ignorance glowing beet red during his response. This was a major blow to McCain and an equally major positive for Dr. Paul from the perspective of market analysts and investors. After all, who can predict what the PPT (Plunge Protection Team) will do next? Aren't the markets unpredictable enough without the meddling of an un-elected board of cronies? Yes, that ONE question and answer between Dr. Paul and John McCain was as good as gold for Dr. Paul.

LOL
I think the audience just gets that he is very smart, and they are not.
Thank you
Its obvious some people do not know the true meaning of assertiveness
