I voted for him once

I am a moderate republican and in 2000, Bush didn't look that bad. Heck, he wasn't even that bad post 9-11...except I thought the threat color levels was a joke..

I didn't even really care about the war in Iraq UNTIL policy switched from catching Saddam and destroying his army to rebuilding Iraq.

Once the rebuilding started, thats when most american lives were lost and thousands of iraqis were killed and the major expense of the war was incurred.

The reason why I think Ron Paul isn't taken seriously by republicans is this. I think republicans think Ron lacks the will to carry out a war even IF it was even declared by congress. Ron needs to say that IF this war was indeed declared by congress, he would have carried it out, however the goals would have been ONLY the following:

1.) Get rid of Saddam and his cronies
2.) Decimate Saddam's army
3.) Eliminate weapons of mass destruction

He should differentiate himself by saying the nation building aspect would never have happened under his administration. And that is where most of the hundreds of billions are being wasted. That's where 90% of the american and Iraqi lives were wasted. He would simply have accomplished the three goals and came home..not stay bogged down there.

Until he makes that clear, I believe he will not add a majority of republicans to his cause.

You must atone.

Your penance is recruiting 100 voters for Ron Paul!

You're forgiven

Now let's put some energy into getting things corrected.

Forgive and it shall be forgiven you

I forgive you - so please forgive me because I voted twice for him and worked on his Florida campaign. I've moved to the light side.

What choice did we have?

It was either Bush or Kerry right? Well, that's whats wrong with our political process. The two parties are way out of touch. I voted for the Libertarian candidate, and I don't have to regret anything. In the future, we have to always vote on principle, even if it means that we are voting alone. That's the strongest message RP delivers. We should never sacrifice our principles.

Exactly. Sadly, the clear

Exactly. Sadly, the clear majority of Americans have no concept of voting on principle, so even if they know about viable "3rd party" candidates they'll vote for 'someone who can actually win'. How the stupidity of that type of thinking isn't glaringly obvious to its practitioners is beyond me.

I believe Badnarik used an analogy of Hitler(R or D), Stalin (R or D), and a principles 3rd party candidate that 'had no chance' (the so called wasted votes candidate).

Do you vote for Hitler or Stalin just because they could actually win it, or do you 'waste your vote' on the principled person because principles warrant it? Well we who have voted 3rd party on principle know the answer.

That really points out the ignorance of the wasted vote notion.

Nobody's Perfect!!!!

Nobody's Perfect!!!!

Hi Gene! I'm Jeff

And I voted for Bush too. I was ashamed too until I came to realize it's never to late to learn what is right and then act on it.

me too, twice

I just couldn't let those liberals get into office and spend, spend, spend, now could I?

Defend Liberty!

Go to the penalty box

lol! We're human, we're not as perfect as Dr. RP.

It seems we need to vote

It seems we need to vote this time for the true leader and for the message, regardless of what the outcome of the election. This would, at the very least, let the powers that be know that we are not trading horse this time and we mean business. That there would be consequences the next time around if they don't take heed. That the people of America cannot be forever fooled, and we are indeed land of the brave, and slumbering people are awakening.

Vote your conviction. Exercise your right as an American. Stop voting for evil!

HEAR, HEAR!!

And this is the lesson... Your vote is too valuable to waste on an unworthy candidate. I will ONLY and ever, from this point on, vote for the best candidate available, regardless of "electability". And if, God forbid, Dr. Paul is not a candidate this fall, I will either write-in his name or vote for a worthy Libertarian or Constitution Party candidate. I will never again cast a vote for a candidate simply because he (or she) has been foisted upon me by the political machines.

Me too...

please accept my most humble apology.

Oh, well

this time its a charm. I don't blame you for voting for Kerry. Nobody likes Bush anyways. Civic duty was what brought us to the polling place.
