RNC Just voted to ban CNN & NBC from hosting any primary debates

Although I'm certainly not a fan of MSNBC, I'm very skeptical of allowing the RNC more control over the primary process.

Just saw them talking about this on MSNBC. They claim the RNC want fewer debates, and less questions for the candidates over all.

What do you guys think?

My 2cents

More debates... more questions... all questions from the public... all streamed live and online attendance open to all.

MSM shouldn't be in the business of hosting debates anyways. They aren't objective and they constantly turn it into a big circus.

I predict (and hope) that in retaliation the DNC will ban FOX, but that's not the right way to word this. The RNC is not "banning" these news agencies, so much as they are refusing to participate in their debates. They are a private organization and have the right to not participate if they do not want to.

So I say "Good! Fornicate MSM, and may their showers forever be golden!"

First, I think, why just

First, I think, why just these two? There surely must be a money reason. Next, I think, why not ban 'em all, and give it back to the League of Women Voters, like it always was before? Or PBS?

about Fox?

And who claps for this coward?

The RNC is scared Rand is going to win, so they want more control on the debates.

Curious.. what's to stop any candidate from just going on TV and having their own debate? Do they really need the party to give them.. permission?

Please boss. I want to go on TV. Can I? Can I?

when you run on the Republican you sign a contract just like...

sports teams. you need to ask permission. now the reason why one would chose to sign this contract is simple...Prime time t.v reaches millions of millions of viewers at one time.

Bout time

About time! Any action to move away from MSM is a good one no doubt about it.

When cartels battle cartels on the back of a noodle eating...

A member of the FEC cartel votes not to use members of the FCC cartel.

If there were competitive markets this nonsense would be a waste of time.

Free includes debt-free!

Screw the rotted RNC. They're going to lose on this one.

There's this thing called free speech and any network can air anything they want - Hillary or not.

At this point, the RNC/GOP is in no position to give up ANY airtime they might get.

Do you think those networks give a damn about whether they show the GOP debates or not?

I think they'd just as soon NOT show them anyway, so the stupid RNC is playing right into their hands.

It's unbelievable how stupid Preibus, RNC and the GOP are.

That will prove itself out even more when we see their nominee in 2016. They'll do everything they can to make sure it's not Rand.

In fact, I wonder if they're so afraid of Rand being the nominee, that they'll do this to keep him OUT of the media.

Why do they bother with debates at all?

Why not just pick the guy they want. It is what they'll do anyway.

The problem is

If they don't give the illusion that their guy was picked by the people, then everyday citizens might just see it for the sham it is. I'm guessing it's Christie or Cruz this time. I don't think they're going to play ball with Rand. Although, I always wondered what Santorum was promised for dropping out last time (I don't think his daughter was really the issue), or if he'll even bother this time around. I think he'd have to change some of his more radical positions, and I don't seem him doing that. At this point, my money's on Christie. He'll bend in the wind just like Rmoney.

Dog and pony show.

Fuck the RNC. They screwed us over every chance they got.

hosted an RNC debate?

I think the ban is stupid. Either the candidates will think it'll be a dignified enough debate to participate in or they won't.

The RNC already controls which debates are "relevant" because they'll simply have their designated front-runners refuse to go to certain ones and Fox News and talk radio will carry that narrative for them.

The ban is just rich people sitting around guffawing about how unfair those other news outlets are to them. I see their point if you're talking about NBC, but CNN isn't really that special relatively.

Defend Liberty!

I pray the people will just ignore the RNC altogether

If no one showed up to the debates and no one tuned in to watch it, then it might help to expose the sham that the election process is.

I urge everyone to disengage from the election process. Our country is run by corporations and foreign interests who select the candidates and control the message. Ignore the Gallup polls and cancel your cable TV subscription. When the actual election rolls around, cast a protest vote if you must, but it probably isn't counted anyway.

Personally, I am not going to play in a rigged game. I will probably vote, but that is it. My district uses electronic vote machines, and I don't believe the results reported are actually the votes cast.

We all want progress, but if you're on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.

Rand Paul 2016!

so what? Garbage doesn't want other pieces of garbage to

host their garbage?

It's all still a bunch of garbage.

Yes, the mainstream media is

Yes, the mainstream media is horrendous, but it's still the thing to which the general public is most exposed. People STILL get most of their news from TV, not from the Internet.

If the RNC cuts off more venues for exposure, they limit their candidates and "ideas".

I think they're already setting themselves up for a Hillary Clinton win. Eccccch!

By "win" I believe you mean "selection"

No one "wins" anything in high ranking political office. As soon as they began toting "Women's Rights" issues this past year I knew Hilary was next in line.

Right now, to secure a successful exit of Obama, they're throwing up RACISM like a shield so that he is harder to criticize and simply blame it on peoples' Chromatophobia.

It's like the lamest Reality TV show I have ever seen. The characters suck, the ratings suck but they think they've produced a masterpiece. Maybe a masterpieceofshit.

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience"—Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

Selection is correct.

There will be no election, only a selection, because the electronic voting machines are too easily rigged. All the talk about who will run and why,the RNC/DNC, left/right BS, is the usual deception, distraction, mesmerizing the people into believing that we actually have a say in the process. Ha! Until there is a voting system which can ensure fairness, tracking all the votes with a paper trail or some other type of vigilant secure means, we have no vote. And it is just a charade and a pathetic disgusting one at that. Hail to the sheep!

Maybe they shud ban all mass media

Sounds good to me

It might backfire.

The Liberty movement and Ron Paul generated it's own press and attention. Lessening the air time of establishment stooges might just limit the ability for the MSM to swamp the debate with pre-scripted propaganda and favoured candidates. RP didn't exactly get much air time in the first place. So, it might not be a net loss in the long run.

Ron Paul got 89 seconds on CBS debate

The RNC is apparently fine with CBS.

RNC: Can't control them, ban them...

After the last RNC I have a really bad taste of BS in my mouth....Just saying.

Not Fox? An obvious attempt to "control" the message in favor of their chosen candidate. We are about to hear about how Rubio or Christie is the "inevitable nominee" BS again.

Fox isn't airing the Hilary

Fox isn't airing the Hilary documentaries which is supposedly the cause of this ban.

I think it is a good idea...

I always wondered why they let those liberal stooges act as moderators. Their only goal was to make the GOP candidate look bad. They had too many debates during the primary season last time; started way too early and went on and on. I don't know about Fox, but why not, I think Brett Baer and Megan Kelly are good. Also, maybe there are some unaffiliated people who would make good moderators.

the real candidates will

the real candidates will debate on the internet. AJ can host.
