I fully support Rand Paul

Leadership takes balls. Rand has consistently stood up for our Liberty, laws and money. He forced a vote to make the Senate break its own law. He forced the administration to explain its position on killing Americans without due process. That is leadership.

Rand is leading the Republican party. That is why he is being attacked.

Rand is not his father. Rand is much more shrewd, political and has the desire to win. Imagine being the son of Ron Paul. Witnessing the amount of lies and bullchit. Would you be a copy of your father? Would you learn from what you witnessed and advance the same philosophy in a different way?

What is the goal? If it is to protect our rights and the rule of law, I ask this community to point at another leader that does it better than Rand!?

I am not excusing Rand. We should all remain very critical of his leadership. I am not excusing the grassroots either. We should look at our options and support those that display great leadership in the cause we believe in.

Our message is winning. Rand Paul is the leader of our movement whether you like it or not. Nobody else defends us, the rule of law and our Constitution the way he does. Rand is very smart and committed to our cause. His actions have proven that to me over and over again. Politics is a dirty ass game and I understand why he is playing the game the way he is. Rand wants to win.

I believe in the leadership of Rand Paul because he has consistently displayed the greatest leadership capabilities. Rand remains principled and committed to the cause of Liberty and Justice.

The apple didn't fall far from the tree.

It may help to repackage the

bill as a "Save the Children's future" bill.

Our kids and grandkids will have to pay a fortune for all this borrowing.

If someone doesn't like it, we label them as "Child Haters"

Same way they passed the "Patriot Act"

The difference is this bill would NOT be a lie packaged as something good.

Perfectly Nailled it PN...

Great post

We should make this trend on Twitter right now. Comment below if you're in.

I'm with you. Looking forward

I'm with you. Looking forward to becoming a delegate etc.

I don't agree with ANYTHING any other politician says.

I agree with Rand, and stand with him on EVERY decision he chooses.

i Stand With Rand

You can't heard cats. Rand's no pussy.

I don't need to agree with him to believe in him.

P. Nicholson, very well stated.

I'm with you.

I'll give him some support, but not (yet) any endorsement..

Definitely some good analysis and thoughts with this post. There's plenty of positives about Rand, but personally for the rest of my life I will only vote on principle, with my conscience. In other words, I might vote 3rd party in a Presidential election or not vote, before supporting Rand.

Having said that, in a potential Rand vs. Hillary election, while sure I'd much prefer Rand, to some degree I'd still be choosing the lesser of two evils. Even though Rand has the potential to be "the greatest of all time lesser of two evils", this doesn't guarantee he gets my vote, especially in a Presidential election.

In a primary, I might feel different. If he's up against Neocons like Rubio and Peter King, sure I'd support Rand. Last thing I want is a Rubio vs. Hillary election. And while the last thing I want is a Hillary presidency, I just don't trust Rand and his "playing the game" strategy. This just leads me to believe that once he's in office, he'll just be like most Presidents, and take his marching orders from the puppet masters.

Sure I'd "root" for Rand over Hillary, but in terms of voting for, and openly endorsing him? --- My conscience was much more comfortable doing that for Dr. Ron Paul and Gary Johnson.

And besides, if it was nearly impossible to "sell" Ron Paul and Gary Johnson to my predominantly liberal friends, Rand has no chance of making any leeway with them.

You nailed it. Rand Who? can't be trusted.

Vote 3rd party.

Rand Who? just ain't one of us.

I sort of get Rand more and more

He could really win, actually. Especially with this NSA stuff. The point is that the people of America are really starting to turn against the establishment.

Rand pisses off a lot of establishment people, but the American people like what he's saying.

I support him if only because he's a rallying point for the American people against the establishment. His victory would be a symbolic event that would change perceptions in the political landscape.

He might also do a lot of good.

Still, he could easily just be 'our' Obama (though he already is 1000 times the substance of Obama). We need to keep doing our other stuff, but I think he might get my vote.

I think the reason that Rand receives so much criticism

here on the DP is because most people here, myself included, originally got "woken up" by Ron Paul and his honest, unwavering, unapologetic approach to politics. It was a huge breath of fresh air to see someone, for once, not dodge questions, not dance around the issues, not redirect conversation; but instead defend his positions in philosophical, logical, and intellectually consistent manner. This was what converted me and turned me and "cured my apathy", so to speak.

The problem is, we libertarians often erroneously assume that everyone else is just like us. Everyone else is purely logical and philosophically consistent; just like us, they also can't stand political posturing, demagoguery and lies; just like us, they hate political punchlines and have a thirst for philosophical debates.

However, this is simply not the truth. The majority of the population is NOT like us! We are the minority in this regard, and we need to recognize it.

Only once we recognize this fact - that the sheeple will always be sheeple - can we begin to understand Rand Paul's strategy. Yes, we all want a Ron Paul to be POTUS rather than Rand Paul. We all want an intellectually honest debate on the national stage and for everyone to wake up and elect the obviously smarter, more consistent, more honest, and better philosophically versed candidate. But this is never, ever, ever going to happen.

So yes, we do get rightfully disgusted when we see Rand Paul pandering, dodging questions, etc... but we need to forgive this, or we'll never be able to turn this country around, and instead the liberty movement will again become a footnote in a history book.

There's a reason that politics is the way it is; it's a reflection on human nature. For thousands of years, politics has consistently been about posturing, lying and mud-slinging. Unfortunately, this is what appeals to the masses, whether we like it or not.

So we have to let Rand play the game. We have to trust that when the time comes, he'll do the right thing. We have to trust that Ron Paul didn't raise a power-hungry snake. I, for one, trust Ron Paul. And I stand with Rand.

Indeed! Thoughtful Comment!

Well stated, Xori!

I read, but do not log on often anymore, just occasionally when a thoughtful comment like yours prompts me...I guess I just needed to tell you that.

I stand with Rand

that was a very well put

that was a very well put argument, being one of those that you describe

I dont think a perfect candidate is NOT posible, i just think its really REALLY hard, but i will concede this, as of this moment, im not opposed to the thought of rand being one of the stepping stones to the possible "perfect candidate"........and if im really lucky, i may find out that i was completely wrong in my suspicions of rand......i am willing to concede that possibility.........but i just dont think i can allow myself to put so much faith on words alone, action and conviction, WITH RESULTS, thats a different matter.......understand, that it may take a long while for these examples to manifest themselves, heaven knows its in our governments best interest to surpress this

Your reply was well put as well.

I think the 'system' has become so corrupted and has us all running around trying to 'save' the beast.

Granger doesn't talk about this, but I have studied history and governments ALWAYS follow public desires.

They corrupt the mind before they induce the tyranny they desire.

Im not alone. You see it too. Thank you so much for your comment.

Ron is our philosophical leader. Rand is our boots on the ground leader.

One wants to win minds, the other wants to win office. Two totally different goals.

It's good to know, there are others who see it too.

You are 100% correct!

Took the words right out of my mouth.
I could not have stated it any better.

As I said in a previous post, Rand is the only car we have in the race.
He has the pole position in the race.
So I'm going to buy him some fuel so we can win.
Our support is the fuel and we are the pit crew!

thank ya

We have the power to change the world for the better. America needs bold, principled leadership. Rand Paul is the only man displaying it in spades.

If he is not the nominee I am getting the fuck outta here. I love my country.. so dearly.. but I refuse to be a sitting duck. We desperately need the leadership that Rand is displaying.

Name one thing that Barry has vetoed? Name one thing that Barry has displayed great leadership?

Rand Paul will exercise the veto pen eloquently.

I trust him. Honest.

You're right!

...and when you're right, you're just right. I'm with Rand, too.
