interesting that folks on here would be impressed by this . .

Phil is mentioning folks from the Revolution, who said things akin to what Ron Paul has said.
Ron Paul is an avowed Christian
Married to one woman
Honest and upright in his Congressional office dealings which also is consistent to a Christ-like life.

OH!!! all that was just lost on Phil in the last election huh?
Did Phil publicly support Dr. Paul?

I love how the "Christian" people like he and the Gifted Hands doctor crawl out of the woodwork AFTER the election. AFTER they voted for the Mormon instead of the Christian.

Jackson County Georgia

War is an instrument entirely inefficient toward redressing wrong; and multiplies, instead of indemnifying losses.
Thomas Jefferson

You forget, they're in

You forget, they're in Louisiana... That's Santorum country!

Great Find!

The Christian revival has begun.

I am OK on what he said

He is a Alpha male not a wussy Beta male. Some agree. Some don't. I will duck hunt with the ones that agree. I will smoke a cigar for Phil belief's. Long ashes to him.

Cigar Dave rocks. Long

Cigar Dave rocks.

Long ashes!

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.

Does he really think that

Does he really think that abortion was invented in America during the 1800's?

2:23 - 2:42"We've been

2:23 - 2:42

"We've been endowed by our creator, according to Thomas Jefferson, with certain unalienable rights. Among these are LIFE... I tell you, it didn't take us a hundred an fifty years.. we start ripping babies outta wombs..."

Am I wrong in assuming he thinks abortions weren't taking place during colonial times and even much, much before that?

Any thoughts on this speech?

Any thoughts on this speech?

here are some thoughts

Anyone that starts a speech by raising a bible in the air is going to argue from an appeal to authority. Not interested.

Actually

From a Christian perspective, anyone who lifts up a Bible is speaking of FREEDOM from tyrannical government.

I would call that creative cherry-picking

There is plenty of tyranny in the bible.

Then you would show that you have no clue about Christinity

John 8:31-32 (#1 of 12 Bible Verses about Freedom)
31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

Acts 13:38-39(#2 of 12 Bible Verses about Freedom)
38 "Therefore, my brothers and sisters, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. 39 Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.

Romans 3:21-24 (#3 of 12 Bible Verses about Freedom)
21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Romans 6:22 (#4 of 12 Bible Verses about Freedom)
22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

Romans 8:1-4 (#5 of 12 Bible Verses about Freedom)
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful humanity to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in human flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.

Romans 8:20-21 (#6 of 12 Bible Verses about Freedom)
20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

2 Corinthians 3:17 (#7 of 12 Bible Verses about Freedom)
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Galatians 5:1 (#8 of 12 Bible Verses about Freedom)
1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Galatians 5:13-14 (#9 of 12 Bible Verses about Freedom)
13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

Ephesians 3:12 (#10 of 12 Bible Verses about Freedom)
12 In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

Colossians 1:21-23 (#11 of 12 Bible Verses about Freedom)
21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. 22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation- 23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

1 Peter 2:16 (#12 of 12 Bible Verses about Freedom)
16 Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God's slaves.

Today's New International Version

Jesus said much about not being able to serve two masters, so Christians serve God, above government.

seriously, you want to have this fight?

So should

our founders abandoned the Judeo-Christian laws in which this county was founded?

If only they would see the

If only they would see the wisdom of handling divisive moral issues at the state level... It's their insistence on federalizing these issues and their inability to see that it would take an even bigger gov't to enforce their views that tends to put me at odds with bible thumpers.

Speaking from the perspective of one who is distrustful of big gov't, how exactly does the FedGov enforce a ban on abortion without becoming the tyrannical beast we fear it to be?

They do see it

Because this government is about to be consumed by the UN Agenda that claims PEOPLE ARE A PROBLEM AND HAVE NO RIGHT TO EXIST.

If you think supporting GJ is the answer, you are very asleep. This is a war for your life and liberty.. protest,, give them an excuse.. they don't even want an election.. they want a Syrain rebellion, they want an Egyptian protest, they want an excuse to depopulate.. so go ahead, give it to them. Since you and so many here are living in la la land and refuse to take the only chance you have in the GOP.. at least you die with your principles, eh?

Well that is one view point.

Well that is one view point. Are there any others?

yes. I find it amusing how

yes. I find it amusing how christians selectivly apply parts of the bible and ignore others. Much like conservatives picking and choosing what parts of the Constitution they support and defend.

iirc, Jesus said "Blessed be the peacemakers/meek/merciful", "turn the other cheek" and "love thy enemy". It's been a while since I've heard any of that come from the pulpit.

Also, what is it about unborn American babies that makes them so special? Does Jesus love them more than innocent Afgahni toddlers who are murdered by our tax dollars? And how about lives ruined by the zero-tolerance policies christians tend to support? I guess Jesus doesn't love them, eh? At least not enough for you to go to bat for...

If you call yourself pro-life, at least be fucking consistent about it. Otherwise you come across as hypocritical bastards.
