Until the 4th amendment is

Until the 4th amendment is officially repealed, Every American can still claim to posses that right.

The rights outlined by the

The rights outlined by the Fourth Amendment are Natural Rights. They can only be repealed from US citizens who rely on the Federal Government to grant those rights to them. As citizens of the US the land of their nation is the D.C., which is not a state of the union. All other land remains the sovereign jurisdiction of the several states of the union respectfully. So, State nationals don't have that problem.

Exactly!

And that is the point of the editorial!

Speak out and state your rights!

Interesting editorial, but

Interesting editorial, but the Title's premise isn't really explored/explained in the body. Could use an intro explaining why (quote DoI, etc...) and how today gov't doesn't protect rights but rather regulates behavior/economy/etc, and in doing so actually violates right.

It was edited...

and the title was changed from, "We were the promise of transparency"...

Alright, well this new one is

Alright, well this new one is an improvement, I'll give you that.

I think much of what the editorial discusses

is already known in many degrees, but the point of the article was to speak out for discussion's sake and let people know it is ok to have a voice.

Does the government ever plan

Does the government ever plan to give back the Constitutional rights they took from our children?

NO!

It's only a Republic IF you can keep it. It has been under attack since before the day it was ratified http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/constitution/item/7631-...

Too many don't have a clue what is happening. Too many don't care. Too many are willing to let it go in trade for free cell phones.

The government does not give freedom or constitutional rights. It never did. It has always been up to we the people to FIGHT, and that areans is political.

Too many are not independnt, or sitting on a fence, or playing with fire in BOTH parties are refusing to make committments and FIGHT. They rather play games and have fun.. fiddle while the Bill of Rights burn. Seek perfection, in a world where none exists for long.

Others

Others are held or forced down by a political system run amuck to even try, have influence or care anymore.

This will not happen overnight, or with one president. Rather, it will take each of us to live and exhibit liberty, setting examples, and teaching the young generation who will carry it forward.

We can only keep what is ours, and that in itself is difficult enough. But we must never give up.

No more than they plan

to give back the rights they took from us, from our parents, from our grandparents or from our great-grandparents. The first law of power is to perpetuate itself and grow. The first duty of free men is to resist it.

Moot question.

Will our children ever exorcise the Rights of which they are inherently born with, is the proper inquiry.

Questions surrounding what the government can and can not do will not result in L[l]iberty.

Well done
