Michael Hastings Character Assassination Begins
Published on Aug 20, 2013
The media is going to take the newly released coroners report to demonize Michael Hastings. They will claim he is high on methamphetamine and hallucinogens, but closer examination of the report shows, drug levels that are very low and in ranges that could result in false positives.

Portrayal of Hastings as drug abuser skirts truth about crash

Reaction to the release of Michael Hastings’ autopsy report, which as expected ruled his death to be an accident caused by massive blunt trauma, has been varied, with many pointing out that it does little to answer the questions surrounding the Rolling Stone journalist’s suspicious car crash.
Some are claiming that the report puts the “conspiracy theories” about the journalist’s death to bed despite the fact that it does not answer virtually every question that has been posed – such as why Hastings’ new Mercedes burst into flames with witnesses describing “explosions.”
The autopsy report states that Hastings had small amounts of marijuana and amphetamine in his blood, but that this would not have impaired his driving at such low levels.
It also twice references two empty alcohol bottles found at the scene of the crash as if to suggest that they could have belonged to Hastings despite the fact that no alcohol was found in his blood.
Why does the report feel the need to focus on the two bottles? Are we to believe that Hastings threw them out of the window in the moments before his high speed crash?
The media is now portraying Hastings as a drug abuser who had begun taking DMT and needed to go into rehab despite being completely sober for the previous five years.

The driving that it took to cause Hastings accident was consistent with either a drunk or a sabotage. Report shows NOT intoxicated at time.

So many inconsistencies in this LAPD report on Hastings Death. Looks a lil tampered with

The only part of that Times story I don’t get @Activationist is the witness who says he was “passed out” be4 the crash. From trace pot&meth?

@Rambobiggs Crazy how report say drugs played no part in crash then media paints him as druggie who’s family was trying to put him in rehab.

Michael Hastings autopsy report released, but still no answers as to how a modern Mercedes can explode into flames. Questions still abound.

UPDATE 1: Our friends Aaron Dykes & Melissa Melton at TruthStreamMedia.com's take on the smear/character assassination campaign
What Really Killed Michael Hastings? (Just asking...)
Published on Aug 21, 2013
The coroner's report is out on journalist Michael Hastings and the mainstream media is having a field day about how traces of amphetamine and marijuana were found in his system. We're no forensics experts, but even if Hastings was on every drug on the planet, this does not answer all the questions surrounding the suspicious nature of Hastings' exploding car and upcoming story on CIA Director Brennan and we have the right to ask these questions and they should be answered. Cars don't just blow up like that and throw their engines over 100 feet unless it's a Jerry Bruckheimer film.

The Los Angeles coroner has released the report on Michael Hastings’ untimely death, and it would appear the document will be milked for all the damage control propaganda it is worth.

Dancing in step to the establishment tune on cue, the mainstream media has jumped all over another excuse to titillate its audience with the second act of the spectacle we are currently witnessing.
noun \ˈspek-ti-kəl also -ˌti-kəl\
1:something exhibited to view as unusual, notable, or entertaining; especially : an eye-catching or dramatic public display
In short, you couldn’t write a better movie script than this morbid theater that’s being rolled out like a red carpet before our eyes, ladies and gentlemen.
The coroner found traces of amphetamine and marijuana in Hastings system. Let the media’s games begin.
The Associated Press began it’s report on Hastings autopsy with, “After 14 years of sobriety, journalist Michael Hastings had returned to drugs” (nevermind that would have made him 19 years old, a teen at the time when he last did drugs, something our own President has admitted to numerous times).
Prior to even reading the story itself, let’s consider the LA Times headline: Coroner, family link Michael Hastings to drug use at time of death. It’s pretty straightforward; the LA Times is suggesting drug use played a role in Hastings’ car wreck. But then the story actually says:
“Coroner’s officials said Hastings had traces of amphetamine in his system, consistent with possible intake of methamphetamine many hours before death, as well as marijuana. Neither were considered a factor in the crash, according to toxicology reports. ” [emphasis added]
So now Hastings is painted as using meth and pot hours before his car exploded, even though it was admittedly not a factor in his death.
