Update A Very Bright Man Agrees, We (Ron Paul And Co) Need To Draft An Alternate Constitution Asap- Right Now! Not A Concon!

UPDATE: I just got word that a VERY BRIGHT man supports this idea. Here is his statement verbatim:

"I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical"

We are picking at 200 different pieces of a broken government. It has been so bastardized it resembles Frankenstein more than lady liberty. When my 91 Honda had more problems to fix than it was worth, I scrapped that mother fucker quick and got a Brand new car.

We need to stop squabbling and offer a brand new solution to the myriad of problems facing us, due to our warped federal governance NOW.

Convene a convention with Ron Paul, Rand, Massie, Amash, Grant, Woods, Johnson, et al this summers end and do what all great social movements do, offer a different solution. This will put us on the side of progress (buzzword) and status quo'ers on the defensive. It will also activate our collective brainwashing to 1. Support the underdog & 2. Put us playing the role of founding fathers and them the role of the King.

It won't hurt that we're finding the UK involved/implicit in this world domination scheme right now too =)

Btw. I'm fucking serious, this is the ONLY way out..

I am being f ing serious too...

Peddle your crap someplace else.

The Constitution, which is the Law of the Land, must be enforced. For those who do not abide by it, after all that is said and done, that is what they will be held accountable to.

When we regain control of this out of whack excuse for a government, then parts after the 10th may possibly be addressed.

Btw, past experience has taught me that the only way out is not necessarily the easiest way out.

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

I think

I think we should see what would come about if we follow the Constitution we already have. The problem is that our elected representatives don't follow the Constitution, what is the point of writing another one if no one would follow it anyhow? The Constitution is not the problem it's the elected official that don't follow it that are causing the problems

How the heck did this system and the people in it arise....

The Constitution has allowed it too.

Why is that any of these people or their laws, etc. haven't been found guilty of being unconstitutional by any body the constitution has created?

What a Load of Crap

The constitution we have does everything we need. Tell the "very bright man" to focus on enforcing the existing constitution.

Thomas Jefferson is dead now but....

I can certainly tell him (through 6 ft of dirt), but I doubt he can hear me.

MY business model didn't suck either, it was just that other people were too evil to buy my products... Right?

NO MORE LIES. Ron Paul 2012.

How bout just 1 line?

Congress shall make no law

The last few comments have it right

We just need to follow the one we have, truthfully though, I don't know why people are afraid of a ConCon, the constitution merely outlines rights that prexist government. It also cannot grant or take away those rights even if the paper is changed.

not just that...

Not that at all...

"The Congress shall have the power to lay and collect taxes..." (i.e., We have the right to steal from you and your children, i.e., you are a slave).

Now tell me how that gem pre-existed government.

Things don't just "get

Things don't just "get changed". Changes come from consensus and consensus means including things you are near guaranteed not to like. Have you forgotten what the current Congress has wrought recently? Helllllooooo? Obamacare, anyone?

What do you say we follow the old one?

Instead of trying but failing to follow a new one?

Nothanks, We Already Got One

I like the current constitution. Let's just enforce it. It's time to start putting criminal politicians/bureaucrats in jail. The constitution is the law, and those who have violated the law must be brought to justice.

What do you like about it?

What do you like about it?

Is there anything that you don't like about it?

How do we enforce it?

Who is going to put the politicians in jail?

There are certainly problems with creating a new System to govern those who govern, but the System we have right now is not fulfilling the Mission described in the Preamble.

I like the idea of following the one we already have, but that's not seeming to work very well. Our Gov't is not establishing Justice, is promoting domestic turbulence, is providing for the common Offense, promoting the general Dependence, and unsecuring the Blessings of Liberty to our posterity.

Thank God!

There are thinking beings on here!

Good questions.

1. The Preamble and Bill of Rights

2. Yes, a lot (anti-federalists have covered most things)

3. We don't

4. Nobody

The Constitution is fine as is

It's the fact that it's ignored that's the problem.

It doesn't matter how good a Constitution is if people who are elected 20 times or more just flat out ignore it.

Our government, from our Representatives to our President himself, swears to uphold and protect the Constitution, and it's about time we hold them to it by what means we have.

Ron Paul 2016

the 17th amendment

could surely be revised/repealed, the 14th too.

But yeah, it doesn't matter what it says if people don't follow/enforce it.

A signature used to be here!

How about...

we finally learn our lesson and just say no to government?

I seldom bother to comment on threads such as . . .

these; I'm afraid I'm not a very good political theorist--

but this seems very much like trying to round up a symphony orchestra to play along with Nero while Rome burns--

Nobody is going to take this seriously.

After Ron Paul was rejected/illegally ousted--

how does anyone think that there will be enough power behind a movement such as this--

better to try to take back *our* communities--

work with neighbors, etc.--

become more self-sufficient--

there is more hope in this:

though I will admit that, in spite of putting a lot of effort into it, we are still not wholly self-sustaining--

at least it's something the 'little person' can do--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

This nonsense is exactly why a ConCon is so dangerous.

We'll end up with the States taking up this sort of bunk with no alternative.

In the face of something known not to work, compared against an unknown "touted solution" the replacement will win every time, even if it sucks worse than anything imaginable.

No! THIS is the only way out!

Being a Federal citizen is not the answer.

Becoming a state national IS the answer.

Buy the book! Pay $5.00 more than it costs because it's worth it. Read the book! Then take the appropriate action to achieve the remedy for yourself and the peoples of the Union.

Water, Food, Electricity

IMO, the only permanent way out is to achieve water, food and energy independence in your community. These communities will eventually become like pockets of anarchism once the above 3 factors are achieved.

And hundreds and thousands of such pockets across states and countries will be able to defeat Governments.

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Exactly. It's already being done - stay tuned.

But in the meantime, we might wake a few people up this way. Either that or...

Constitutional Peasants

You can

Make your claims once the draft is finished. Noone is saying WHAT it should look like at this point. We are only discussing the merits, nay the absolute necessity of having an alternative source document in order to wrest legitimacy from the current PTB and unite free men under one document.

"the absolute necessity of

"the absolute necessity of having an alternative source document in order to wrest legitimacy from the current PTB and unite free men under one document."

care to defend this ludicrous claim?

I'm a free man. You say it's "absolutely necessary" I unite under your document? With all due respect: please fuck off :)

Please enter reality.

You're so free. Stop the NSA from spying on you.
You're so free. Stop paying taxes.
You're so free. Start a business without a permit.
You're so free. Go on a vacation w/o a passport and try and come back.
You're so free. Stop paying Medicare/medicaid/social security.
You're so free. Grow a plant called Cannabis.
You're so free. Stop paying property taxes.
You're so free. Name your child Messiah.
You're so free.
You're so free.
You're so free.

Maybe if you tell it to yourself enough, you'll believe it.

This isn't about not being a free man, it's about having a choice in governing body. You being against? this (I'm not even sure you are) means your basically for the current system, in which you are allegedly so free. God Bless you, free man.

Read the Red Amendment. You are a man with energy and zeal. Read it and know that law that binds you. You can then put your energy into growing the community you dream of. We are here.

In the current climate - this is the most dangerous thing to do

Can this work a few years down the road - maybe - but right now the country is clearly in a socialist/Marxist mind frame - you do not want to open this door now. This door needs to stay shut until the liberty movement has more momentum.

You KNOW how this will go.
1. You draft a document. It is really a beautiful thing - people on here cry it is so good.
2. It then gains traction and people start buying into it - so it is sent to state legislatures
3. NOOOOO state will approve as written(its the nature of power people), so it will get markups.
4. Markup after markup after markup later - you have a document that enslaves the people and institutes tyranny. The people cheer and go wild. The states ratify. YEHHH we have a NEW constitution
5. Game over - after all - this was YOUR plan(nobody wants to here you whine about how it went sideways - we have a new constitution(or amendments)and by god CLEARLY this is what a modern constitution should look like, its fresh, its hip, its so 2015 so live with it

Oh - but you wont send it to the states as prescribed by Article V? Well two problems here
1. Hard to gain traction about following a constitution when you are not following it yourself
2. Ok- screw the states we are going directly to the people for a vote. You do realize Obama won the last election - right. Those are your voters - good luck.

Sorry, but that is just how it goes. You have to remember - you either have to have an educated populace that understands the nature of freedom - and actually feel repressed - or - you have to exert enough force(in the form of violence) that the people embrace freedom out of fear(yeh - laugh all you want - hasn't that been the US's mo for a hundred years).

This idea needs to wait - and in the meantime the energy needs to be on educating people.

I honestly believe we are in a race - we have to educate faster than they are dismantling.

Education is the only way out - well - or violence - but that's not what I do - my days of fighting are over.

I absolutely appreciate your time and find your style very easy to follow and entertaining.

You also, pre-empted my response to #2 so gj on foreseeing the future :-)

I suggest reading a few of the recent threads through with me and a few other guys. We kinda laid out a vision of it that MIGHT answer your concerns and you might see that our (in progress) ideas might actually do what your calling for here.

Take care, ttyl
