I know today is going to be a big day of complaining about how Ron Paul was treated at the FAU debate last night. Let me reassure you NOTHING will break the will and spirit of this true American patriot.
I spoke at the Ron Paul Rally in Boca Raton across the street from the FAU campus. I also attended the debate.
I had the fortunate opportunity to speak at length with members of the Ron Paul staff and a bit with Dr. Paul himself.
I'd like to assure everyone that the RP campaign knows EXACTLY what they are doing. They've asked repeatedly that we continue to contribute and WALK OUR PRECINCTS.
The media will NEVER cooperate. It's up to US to spread the message door to door and continue the revolution... and keep hope alive - Dr. Paul has blazed the trail and lit the fires of freedom.
I plan to release a YouTube video later this evening when I get home from work - please take the time to watch and listen - I promise to make it brief and relevant.
Please refrain from demanding that the campaign staff be fired etc. They are all doing exactly as Dr. Paul requests and he knows how to win this - please trust in his leadership - after speaking with him last night, I am even more confident in him (as if I needed the reinforcement!)

Dr. Paul is a man I have the utmost respect for - his is the 5-star general
in this revolution and people like yourselves are the battlefield commanders and infantrymen & women spreading the message of peace and prosperity.
People like myself, Ted Terbolizard in California and BJ Lawson in North
Carolina have taken this fight directly to congress by running for office in our respective districts. We experience the frustration too - once the media finds out we are Ron Paul supporters they dismiss our candidacies as fringe and irrelevant.
FREEDOM is NOT IRRELEVENT.
What has happened to this country?? If we do not get the correct and
unfiltered information into the hands of the people (read: Slim Jims), those people (our friends and neighbors) will vote for the establishment
fear-mongers, the 'governing class', the wealthy elitists, that will stop
at nothing to destroy our constitution and herd us into the doors of their
corporate conglomerates, tagging us with RF transmitters imbedded under our skin and ending the American dream of our founders: a free people.

Our part is easy
WE have the easy job. Dr. Paul has the hard job and I don't know anyone who can do it better. Who else has the patience to put up with so much nonsense, go on stage knowing he is always uphill against the world -- and he does it willingly.
WE have to talk, recruit, raise money. Our job is easy.

Slow but steady...
Ron Paul and Romney are the only viable Republicans left! Sloooowly Ron Paul inches up, gaining ground bit by bit. I am more confident than ever that he can win. And once Republicans realize Romney can't beat Clinton as a result of the war, Romney will fall, in spite of his ken doll haircut and prom king voice. Yes, we can win. GET OUT there and spread the message!

Just trying to align everyone's perceptions with reality. :-)
Hope provides essential energy, but hope is not a strategy. Hope should be superrational; that is, not conflicting with what is known, but not limited to it. But our strategy should be grounded firmly in knowledge, anywhere possible. We know now some things which do and don't work; let's build on that knowledge. We know canvassing and local ads do work; we know trusting the corporate controlled media doesn't. Let's get busy doing the things proven to work, and let's not worry too much about the things we can't change! I do trust God to give us the miracles we (certainly) need, or, if not, then to lead us to wherever it is we need to go next.
Gotta go. Putting up some more 4x8 signs today, and daylight's a-wasting. ;-)

Go back and read about what Dr. Paul accomplished to get his Texas 14 seat in Congress. The Repulicans pulled out every big gun they had to defeat him. The good Dr. knows what he is doing. Let's trust him and the team he has chosen.

I don't mean to be a downer, it's just that we've been pumped up before only to be let down. So, once bitten, twice shy. ;-)
No matter what, I'm in this all the way. I'm just asking for more useful tidbits -- things which can help me persuade my skeptical, fence-sitting friends to get excited.

Were we pumped up by the campaign or individuals on internet? I could be wrong but I don't think the campaign ever made great claims.

I truly believed this at the beginning, just took it at face value, "Oh, the Campaign must know what they are doing..."

The win is the big WIN. The states are battles, the war is national. get on board.

The slogan didn't have anything to do with my reasons for donating and support. It is fathers and friends of coworkers who are pointing up that RP is not "viable" as a candidate. These people I guess do not have patience and are choosing Romney because he is more "electable".
My friends have tried every avenue and can't get them to change to RP.
They cite the low percentages in early states, even though it could turn out differently - they do not see it that way. Some people may never change their minds and that's just the way it is.
I believe there is a huge percentage of such people in this country. I hope that I am wrong.

If everyone who likes RP but
If everyone who likes RP but doesn't feel he has enough support to win actually voted for him instead of another candidate, he really could win. Think about that. Right from the very start in the very first primary state of Iowa, this was going on, people were saying RP just isn't mainstream enough to win, so they ended up voting for someone else like Romney. So, I say to all those people who liked RP's platform, but don't think RP can win and are going to vote for someone else, its you who are a big reason why RP isn't doing as well as he could be.

RP himself was interviewed, back in the fall sometime, about how he could possibly win given his long-shot status and contrarian views on a few key issues. In his answer, he specifically mentioned NH as a state where a lot of independents could be won over.
Hmmm. Can we all agree that that didn't happen? 8% in NH = crap, IMO.
I don't want to argue about this. It's not very productive. The point I'm making is just this: vague exhortations aren't helpful at this point. We're in the trenches now. We need facts. Again, McCorvey, Luskin, Pride; what tactics got us our better finishes in NV/LA and the counties here and there where we've actually won. Let's focus on specific facts and tactics and results.

how have you been let down?
It's not over yet! We've gone from almost nothing to 2nd place in 2 states, maybe even first in LA. There's a long way to go--this man is a genius!

I understand what you're saying, and I agree with you to some extent. I've made the same case to "my people" to help them not lose faith. But the fact is, we haven't *won* any states yet and consequently we haven't broken into the "front runner" category in the minds of the commoners. Yes, we've come close in LA, and we did pull out 2nd in NV, but close doesn't cut it. We have to actually win a state before we can strut proudly again.
Remember how we felt before the primaries started? That's what I'm talking about. The actual results we've gotten have been a cold shower. It's hard to deal with single-digit finishes when we win everything thrown at us online and even show such awesome fundraising growth through 9 months, taking us into the leading slot in that important category.
So, where are the wins?
Again, I'm not trying to be a downer, just pointing out that we've had our expectations pumped up before only to be disappointed. (If you tell me 8% in NH didn't disappoint you, I'll never listen to another word you say.) So now I look for specifics. Luskin. McCorvey. Mary Pride. Actual delegates/counties won. Thompson dropping out. Those kinds of things. Then I can share the confidence rationally instead of just borrowing it on faith. (Hmmm, there's a lesson in monetary policy in there somewhere, LOL!)
