It Is The Beasts Hour To FeedSubmitted by BILL3 on Tue, 08/27/2013 - 01:33
It looks like the Beast in Washington is waking again, hungry for scorched human flesh.
Do they even have an agenda anymore? A plan to make sense of the chaos they spread? Are we to believe that a capitol that can't see past the next election has some master plan, that makes any sense of backing the Syrian rebels or the Muslim Brotherhood or Islamists in Lybia?
You may think the goal is to prepare the way for a large scale showdown, once the ravages of war and 'elections' have turned every middle eastern state into a snakepit of terrorism and radicalism, to set the stage for a bigger war. But to imagine policy is constructed with such a long term view it to give too much credit to the politicians.
What Straussian geopolitics could make sense of toppling stable governments in favor of lawless mobs and religious radicals? Do we just aim to shatter all order to weaken the entire body of states in the region? How does that make our position any stronger relative to Russia or China? Does it make any geo-strategic sense?
Can an elite that allows the industrial basis of the country to be looted piecemeal for short term profits; which re-creates the conditions of Babel in its own political interior; which stands idly by while the physical infrastructure of the country goes to ruins, and cities become depopulated wastelands, one by one; can such a political ruling class really be thought to have a rational, long term foreign policy?
Does it advantage Israel, to have chaos and instability all around it, when it is situated in the crosshairs of any regional war, on a thin strip of land that could not sustain a major encounter with the most destructive weapons?
If none of these make sense, then what is the nature of the regime in Washington, that impels it to endless wars with no positive foreseeable outcome?
Is Washington just addicted to blood, destruction, grief, chaos, and anarchy for its own sake?
Is it just an impulse to aide the side that is out of power, against the established order, rooted in some restless ideology of revolution and 'spreading freedom,' by perpetually setting fire to the world?
What madness, what disease really grips Washington?
Is it just a beast that cannot tolerate any settled, peaceful order emerging in the world?
Is it the nature of the entity, as a parasite, to feed on chaos and political turmoil, internal and external, to justify its existence and spread its tentacles in all directions, until the whole world is engulfed, and suffocated by its fumes and corrupting odor?
Is it Washington's hour to feed again? Is there some cancer in its intestines, that makes it need to feed more and more frequently?
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed...
The ceremony of innocence is drowned...
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
("The Second Coming," William Butler Yeats)
