I would like to know where the pope(intentionally uncapitalized) stands on all of this new attempt at killing

Where is the most powerful religious figure in the world on this? He is full on board with all of it. That is where he is and his whole organization is. Does anyone see the Vatican trying to stop this murder? Dig deeper people, it's far beyond politics.

The Pope is against war in Syria

Under Asaad religions co-existed peacefully. If Al Nusra topples Asaad Catholics will suffer severe persecution. I can't see how that is positive for the Vatican... or Syrians for that matter.

but is he truly against it

that is the question.

How does it benefit the Vatican?

OK, let's say the Catholic Church benefits from the conflict - how?

One thing that is being pushed is a one world govt/currency by the Catholic Church. Could one say allowing conflict is a way of breaking down the system and then centralizing it? I don't know...

Note on financial reform from the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace:

"In the same spirit of Pacem in Terris, Benedict XVI himself expressed the need to create a world political authority. This seems obvious if we consider the fact that the agenda of questions to be dealt with globally is becoming ever longer. Think, for example, of peace and security; disarmament and arms control; promotion and protection of fundamental human rights; management of the economy and development policies; management of the migratory flows and food security, and protection of the environment. That's because it's just a

That's because it's just a power structure: a hierarchy for the "holy" class. Nowhere, even in the passages specifically chosen as canon at the Council of Nicaea by the most powerful "church leaders" in the world at the time and the Roman Emperor himself, does Christ ever call for priests, bishops, cardinals, or popes who have some sort of "god-given" authority over matters of scripture and spirituality. All of that hierarchy was introduced in order to preserve the status quo, instead of having true Christians running around who fear nothing but God.

They bastardized and governmentized Christ's teachings.

Religion is a power structure. Spirituality is personal.

I myself am a deist. I believe in a God and the true teachings of Christ (the most important being love thy neighbor as thyself), but I don't believe that God actively intervenes in the world. I believe that an "active" God is incompatible with the concept of free will.

I certainly don't believe that some corrupt old man sitting in a hall of gold with a pointy hat is somehow God's representative on Earth. We are all God's representatives.

"In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own. It is easier to acquire wealth and power by this combination than by deserving them, and to effect this, they have perverted the purest religion ever preached to man into mystery and jargon, unintelligible to all mankind, and therefore the safer engine for their purposes."
-- Thomas Jefferson, to Horatio G Spafford, March 17, 1814

and you hit the nail on the head

my enlightened friend. The Catholic Church is following if not leading the charge on this endgame. We all keep looking at politicians and governments like good little sheep. Dig people dig. The Catholic Church is the woman riding the beast. The Roman Empire never died it just went behind a curtain.

ring on his hand. Have you all seen these sheep bow down to this turd and kiss his ring, that is like bah bah to the extreme. The only way to the Father is through the Son, and the Pope sure don't look like the Son to me. I would spit on him.
