Judge Napolitano Presidential Draft Effort Picks Up Steam

The effort to draft former New Jersey Superior Court Judge Andrew Napolitano, best known for his work as a libertarian pundit on Fox News for 15 years, is picking up steam.

On Wednesday, the Virginia-based Committee to Draft Judge Andrew Napolitano for President announced it had gathered almost 100,000 signatures urging him to run for president in 2016 and had garnered more than 36,000 likes on Facebook.

I rate the Judge as high as Ron Paul

I would vote for him above all others. He has a difficult road ahead, not having been a governor, nor a US Senator.

If in Dec, he was polling at 2% and Rand was at least 10% would he be willing to step down, do a Gary Johnson and give us an option if the GOP nominated another yet another NeoCon?

The Judge would be great as President

and I would vote for him or Rand in the primaries and the general election. That said, I 'd also love to see him on a Liberty Lover's Supreme Court.

I support the Judge, BUT......

he is from the Fox stable.
Foxes? Hen houses? I'm 90% there.

id support the Judge

For president or if he is picked as vp under a libertarian pick or Sen. Rand.

I love www.isidewith.com shared it with everyone I know. If anything they realize its not just a red and blue idiot running for reelection.

I support the judge.... but

1. Judge Nap has specifically said that he has no interest in running.
2. Rand seems pretty primed and in better position for 2016 than I would have ever imagined.
3. Judge Nap is single. Have we ever had a single president? To me it should not be an issue, it would not change my vote. But the popular vote?

Exactly!

1. If he had an interest in political office, he'd have no problem getting the votes to elect him to the US Senate in the upcoming election in NJ to fill the Lautenberg vacancy. He's not interested.

2. Seems to have been in the works for a long time. Ron was the messenger. Rand is (will be) a candidate seeking that office for real.

3. Yes and No. James Buchannan was the only unmarried President in US history, so there has been one. Does it matter? Perhaps, to some people. But, does it matter, given that the Judge has no interest in running for any office? Nope.

If he was willing I would support him 100%.

But I don't think he is willing.

This sounds good, but...

If the judge went up for presidential election, of course, I would vote for him, but I would much rather see him put in as a supreme court justice. It would give him the rest of his lifetime to uphold the constitution, and it's something he is better qualified for.

So the next time a position opens up for supreme court, I'm going to start a huge rally for appointing Judge Nap.

Judge will NOT do it...

Listen, he's pretty much made it clear...furthermore, he has NOT stuck his neck out to step up to the plate to DEFEND DZHOKHAR which would have caused a national sensation. Nope, he's done nothing.....except TALK, talk, talk. And, although I appreciate his explicit instructions on the Constitution on TV, it's just not enough!

I was mad about that, because I saw this as a MAJOR OPPORTUNITY to do something to help wake Americans up! You know what I mean?

In the meantime, this innocent young boy is sitting in a SUPER MAX prison with concrete walls and bed, and NO window! Where's the Judges heart about this?. He could have turned this whole thing around, or at the least, get Dzhokhar released somehow, some way to his family someday.

so.. let me get this straight...

Just because of one specific incident, with sketchy evidence and information you're going to write the judge off?

Sounds like you are striving too much for a puristically ideal pick. Foolish to chase for something like that and write him off just for that.

Do you know his personal opinion on Dzokhar? Probably not.

That case was simply not under his

jurisdiction.

He can offer legal opinions and advice, yes, but he was not the presiding judge over Dzhokar's case. A judge does not get to 'choose' what cases he wants to take on: they can only choose whether to continue or throw out a case put before him. He cannot intervene in the fate of everyone. It's not like he can simply walk into the prison and release the wrongly-accused innocents.

But that is not to say that he has no power. No, he has power. His power is in the education of the american people, through talk. Yes, you heard it, through talk. Because if he didn't talk, we'd never know half the things that any law abiding citizen should know about the law and the constitution. If his heart is not in the right place, then we would hear nothing.

So... where does that leave you?

I believe in the freedom to be what we choose to be.

Debates

In all honesty, I doubt he could go farther than Ron... but, who knows. I've been wrong before. I never thought Ron would have made it as far as he did. I would pay good money to watch the Judge debate the rest, and help change the course of discussion to what's actually important. Just like Ron, he's smart and not easily flustered. The more I think about it, this campaign might actually have legs with the former Ron Paul supporters as far as ideals, even more-so than with Rand. But, could you imagine both of those men on stage debating the rest? That would be game-changing for the liberty movement. I'm in.

i think Judge nap is

A great speaker. I'm sure he could smash some people in debates.

I think the Judge is the one person

I would actually go and vote for.

Who is organizing this petition? Do we know if it's legit?

Please, Judge, run and

give liberty voters a real choice. I'm sick of being presented with the choice of the lesser of two evils, even when one of them isn't nearly as evil as the others.

I would

support and vote for the Judge in a heartbeat.

The only issue I can see that might cause him some grief, is that he's never been married, or even tied to any woman.

When a true genius appears in the world, you may know him by this sign: that the dunces are all in confederacy against him. ~J. Swift

How is that a handicap?

If you are saying that maybe people will think he's gay, well, wouldn't people be more willing to elect a gay man with the right principles than a black man who's a tyrant? Honestly, if Barack Obama could lie and get elected President, why couldn't the Judge tell the truth and get elected President?

Jude Nap is awesome...

...He's my pick for President for sure!

I can understand to a certain extent, what certain people say about him not being mainstream, BUT maybe that's just what we need. Someone that hasn't been branded and labled yet, to come out of nowhere and spout the principles of Liberty to the poulace. Ah i can dream eh? :P

Regardless, Judge Napolitano needs to be involved in our government, no matter what!

That means: For each job "created or saved" about five were destroyed.

He could follow in the footsteps of President Taft.

Taft was the only person ever who was President of the USA, then Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. I think our country would be very well off if Judge Napolitano repeated this amazing feat.

I don't think he'd make a good national candidate at this point

He's not known well enough, not experienced enough in electoral politics, and probably a little bit too far outside the mainstream to have a reasonable chance of success. But I think he could win a State office, like attorney general. Perhaps move his way up to Governor one day, and then who knows.

Except to a few hard core libertarians,

Ron Paul was unknown six years ago. Now the entire liberty movement could get behind the Judge and it would be impossible to shut us up this time.

so what if he is not nationally known

He speaks with passion and inspires people.

the camera likes him, he has a charisma

that the other prospects so far lack.
he comes off friendly, knowledgeable, has a good sense of humor, but more importantly he could inspire and excite the youth. i don't know if he'd consider it, but i hope he does.

I Like The Judge

But let's not split the vote in the primary. Just one liberty candidate please, otherwise we hand the nomination to Christie.

I don't know of any other liberty candidate running.

What?

The Judge isn't even running. The only one you can be sure will run is Rand. So let's give him a clear shot.

I don't consider Rand to be a

liberty candidate. He offers mostly a mish-mash of part neocon, part limited government positions. Even his budget proposal for 5 years out is larger than Obama's third year in office. And this is supposed to inspire the young?

I don't consider you a sentient being

.

Ideal if he ran for Senator

Ideal if he ran for Senator in NJ.

That would have been REALLY interesting. And he had a golden opportunity with the double Senate election in NJ in 2013 and again in 2014! ...too bad.
