Russell Brand quits guns

British funnyman Russell Brand gave up dabbling with guns after the Connecticut school shooting last year.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star began learning how to use firearms after moving to America and he spent hours practising his aim at a shooting range.
Brand wanted to own a gun to protect his home and loved ones, but gave up his plan after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Connecticut last December when 20 children and six adults were killed by a gunman.

Brilliant logic there Russell....

...you see a lunatic running around killing people, and so your first instinct is to disarm yourself.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Very intelligent and thoughtful dialogue.

Wouldn't it be refreshing to hear a President or leader of a nation speak with this candor, honesty and non superficial integrity?

I like this guy more every time I hear him.

Russell Brand is a excellent communicator. Real insight. Finally an entertainer with a real message. Thanks for posting.

Excellent communicator?

I know he's definitely up on things, but I can't make sense of about 60% of anything he says without listening to it about 10 times, which I can't do because his manner of speaking is almost painful to my brain. He needs to just spit it out and lose all the poetics.

The guy is all over the board when he speaks. Cross that with an accent as thick as London fog, and I could probably make just as much out reading Egyptian hieroglyphs.

His vocabulary is extensive

I can hear what he's saying fine, but I'll admit I also have trouble understanding him at times.

Gee, thats too bad. He was very clear with his words..

A dictionary is a wonderful tool. Good luck.

That was a good debate

That was a good debate

Pieces of a Puzzle

Not much of a debate in my view. Alex didn't challenge his self-described Marxist tendencies. Good interview though. Alex let him state his views. I hope next time they get into more of a philosophical debate.

Russell still has a ways to go. He has the pieces, he just hasn't put it all together yet.

Yeah, it was a toss up

Yeah, it was a toss up between interview, questioning, or debate.....i went for debate, but yeah, interview IS the better description

But yeah, totally agree with you, not just on the choice of words

For such a smart dude he

For such a smart dude he should know better, or maybe he's not yet there(ego).. I believe he believes socialism works, but he is absolutely wrong. I've had this discussion with many liberals and it always ends up the same, and the same with constitutionalists.

The everyday system molds the individual.. The social environment creates society.

It's not hard to understand.

Is every socialist, communal or collective idea wrong?

Because it's not of the _______________ ideology? I don't think so. Just because your a ___________, does that mean everyone else is wrong?

I believe Russell Brand did a great job of shining light into the duplicity of different ideologies. He is helping to awaken a vast audience. I particularly enjoyed his bit on the power of the "Collective Conscience". Whenever we reclassify ourselves from humans into smaller, specialized groups our synergistic power as humans is effected.

If I have to give away my

If I have to give away my rights to be in this collective idea then yes, it's not even debatable.

Maybe you were hearing what you wanted to or expected to?

If you were talking about at the end where he was talking about the need for people to care for others for society to increase, I don't think he was talking about forced socialism but instead voluntary socialism. Which is good.

Pandacentricism will be our downfall.

Anarcho-syndicalism is not

Anarcho-syndicalism is not something I agree with. Probably the closest system(or non-system) to what I prefer, but still light years away.
