Washington Post: After 'CLASSIFIED' Briefing, Lawmakers SKEPTICAL On Syria Attack - VIDEO

The Obama administration’s request for U.S. military intervention in Syria would not pass the Congress as written because it is too broad, a senior senator said Sunday after a classified briefing on the situation.

Sen. Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.), the dean of the Senate, told reporters after the meeting that the resolution seeking military force is “too open ended” as written. “I know it will be amended in the Senate,” he said.

Leahy’s comments echoed the views of dozens of lawmakers who left the briefing and said they want to see the resolution more closely resemble President Obama’s own pledge that any strike be limited in scope.

If they vote for this after

If they vote for this after this briefing it's clearly treason.

They are expressing valid doubts. Valid doubts don't disappear without some self-interest aka bribes. = Treason

Every single one of these freaks is more dangerous with a pen

Every single one of these freaks - those among the now infamous "217" - is more dangerous with a pen than a dozen special forces with the latest top-notch weaponry.

Just ask your 1st, 2nd, and 4th Amendments, to name only three of them being annihilated some more by the days, hours, minutes, seconds.

After you've seen the videos

After you've seen the videos I posted on this thread, those CNN computer graphics look like kindergarten stuff.

My thoughts

Senators feel they have no choice in this matter but must maintain the image of democracy, there for they have decided to quibble the finer details to appear like they do, before then conceding and appearing like they were consulted.

Freedom is a byproduct of acceptance - judge not.

Iran has some pretty decent ballistic missile capability.

That little spit of Israel land is gone.

Iran and Syria both have

pretty high-end Russian missile tech: Yakhont and Sunburn anti-ship
cruise missiles, S300 anti-aircraft missiles in the pipeline (and already
on Russian Navy ships, of course), high speed torpedos and who knows
what all else.

Russia looks like they would like to avoid conflict - a responsible position
considering how out of control it could spiral. Still - say the Persian Gulf
oil flow gets shut down and prices skyrocket - that leaves Russia as the
biggest oil exporter standing and in a position to demand twice what they
were getting a month ago - can you say Christmas in September?

Maybe the US thinks it can manage a real war like it does its war games:

I have a sick feeling this is

I have a sick feeling this is going to be a repeat of the TARP dance, with much posturing by the congress critters followed by a vote to support the emperor's plan.

Obama remains hellbent w/Nimitz being rerouted to Syria.

...the US has decided to reroute CVN-68 USS Nimitz, and other ships in its strike group including four destroyers, in direction west toward the Red Sea "to help support a limited U.S. strike on Syria, if needed, defense officials said on Sunday."

Navy power is virtually

Navy power is virtually obsolete with Sunburn missile technology. Those ships are toast. The only thing subs are good for are launching nukes.

And they don't miss, and they

And they don't miss, and they destroy the whole f-ing ship in one shot.

OK....

First of all.....lose the term "Lawmakers" - what the hell is that???? They are Congress....people decide if we need laws not these stooges in Congress...

Secondly...."4 camps of thought on how to approach the war in Syria" - REALLY....NO - there is one: unless there is an immanent threat to the United States...Congress MUST give approval for any act of war. I would go even further...that Congress must not relinquish their elected duty to the executive branch (like they did for the invasion of Iraq.) HELLO?????? Wake the F^CK UP AMERICA!
