For doing what?

He's in jail for doing something good. He loaded a gun, which is not an evil thing. He encouraged us to stand up against tyranny and fight for our rights. He broke a bad "law". I only wish I had his bravery. I think he always know what the possible consequences were. The bad guys among us could kidnap him.

Isn't this exactly what's happening? I mean, forget the legal terminology and social acceptability. Am I not describing exactly what's happening? This is even more perverse than being thrown in jail for drinking raw milk.

Blah, darn reply

This comment was intended as a reply to someone who said that Adam should have expected this reaction to his behavior. I don't know why it ended up as a reply to the OP.

Adam's Judge Up For Re-Appointment?

Maybe we need to make a little noise?

Phone calls, letters to newspapers (print and online), petitions, letters to The District of Columbia Commission on Judicial Tenure and Disabilities!

If these people don't want to be Americans they should just leave the country; and we should help them.

What can we send to Adam to boost his spirits?

The lady judges I've seen all want the top button, buttoned.

...to show how big their balls are.

I had a lady judge attack and insult me for 15 minutes on a traffic ticket neither the cop or the prosecutor bothered to show up for.

Because my top shirt button was undone. The top one. I was well dressed otherwise and respectful. She hated me on sight and it totally pissed her off to dismiss the charges, sneering and hissing about how lucky I was; like I robbed a bank.

The cop gave me a speeding ticket in a famous speed trap, citing radar, but I surprised him by asking to see his radar. He shook his head and I said it's evidence I get to see it. When I went to go around him to see the reading, he physically blocked me and put his hand on his gun. In front of witnesses.

All cops are unprincipled, but the worse thing in the world is an unprincipled judge.

To those that don't understand what he is doing

We need to fight for Adam now, because through incrementalism in the reduction of our rights, we will one day be in the exact same position as him. One day we will be pushed as far as he was and we will stand our ground and it's possible we will be taken by force and placed in a facility just like the one he is today or worse.

If you think that this couldn't possibly happen to you because you are a good citizen, you never commit crimes, and you always obey the law, then you probably missed the rampant escalation of militarization of our police in nearly every city of this country. You missed the increasing corruption of government and law enforcement working hand in hand to silence free speech and protest.

You will probably one day have to stand up for what you believe in, and I assume since you are here at the DailyPaul, you would be more inclined to do so than your average everyday citizen, and you don't want the end result to be winding up in an endless hole that true justice or liberty no longer has the means to reach.

So please, take your misunderstandings of Adam or Manning or whomever else is a political prisoner, and remember that this isn't about the person that is in the jail cell, but the broken policies and system that allowed these people to get there in the first place. Please, don't make this about the person.

he could have asked for a speedy trial

then it all would have been over in 30 days ... his refusal to plead ... makes it complicated

I like Adam

I really do, and I think he is a true freedom fighter.

But I really don't know what he was thinking.

Did he not think that there would be consequences for his protest?

Did he not seek legal advice beforehand and plan for a worst case scenario?

I hope he gets out soon and once he does I hope he will choose his battles a little more wisely.

Lookit. If we could bust him

Lookit. If we could bust him out, we would.

Adam said he was no longer working with Shield Mutual. Did that change?

Thanks for the Update

According to this you are correct and donations ARE needed but that info didn't post correctly:

"We thank all of our supporters for standing in solidarity with Adam in his time of need. Please direct all fundraising efforts to [SOMETHING MISSING HERE?] . Please be sure to read the instructions listed there about the allocation of funds. Your support is vital and we would be nowhere without you. You are the lifeblood of this movement"

On 7/20/13 Adam needed $10k

According to here Adam needs at least $50k?:

(can anyone confirm the below is presently correct?)

Sounds like Adam's attorney could use some moral support, too.

Is there....

A website giving updates on Adam's status or statements from him?

I miss Adam and I'm not

I miss Adam and I'm not sitting on my hands either :)

I know scawarren but we have to free him

we cannot let information keep him in there, we have to focus, how do we get him out? We need to hire a lawyer with clout we have to do something. We can't let him rot in there. We need to figure out something for him.

I agree, but what? I do not

I agree, but what? I do not think they can hold him with no bond. I do not see what felony he committed..? Would ACLU do anything?

not sure crickett but maybe we can find a freedom fighter

attorney or something, to see a person who fought in Iraq sitting in a cell, it just can't be so. We all need to dig a bit and see what we can come up with from all angles. I don't know the path we should take but we all need to pick one on our own and hope we meet in the middle of the goal. God bless cricket you have always been a hard charger.
