Poll Shows Majority Of Americans Approve Of Sending Congress To Syria

WASHINGTON—As President Obama continues to push for a plan of limited military intervention in Syria, a new poll of Americans has found that though the nation remains wary over the prospect of becoming involved in another Middle Eastern war, the vast majority of U.S. citizens strongly approve of sending Congress to Syria.

The New York Times/CBS News poll showed that though just 1 in 4 Americans believe that the United States has a responsibility to intervene in the Syrian conflict, more than 90 percent of the public is convinced that putting all 535 representatives of the United States Congress on the ground in Syria—including Senate pro tempore Patrick Leahy, House Speaker John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, and, in fact, all current members of the House and Senate—is the best course of action at this time.

Let's take it one step further...Send the Obama Cabinet over ..

as well. Why should Congress get all the perks?

We will be happy to keep here all who vote against war, but as for the rest, they can go first.

I love the Onion

Love to the Onion for satirical brilliance.

After their term limit expires(2 terms for house, 1 for senate):

They should have to complete a service obligation as E-4's in the armed services.

While these A-Holes sit in their posh, safe senate offices...

...most are all for sending our sercivice members off into harm's way.

Anyone voting for war is an immoral, rat P.O.S.

By the way - I thought Jeff Flake was supposed to be some Libertarian, Ron Paul type - Yet he's all for the war.

What happened to that rat???

Attention Congressmen! Deck swabbing. One-way duty to Syria.

Shoveling the Congressional Blues. Attention Congressmen! Meet your new Drill Sargent. You will be dropped on the Syrian invasion beachhead. You're being issued a shovel. Upon landing, you are assigned, "shovel ready" projects. Bury anything that sinks... Including your own. Congressional right to bear shovels shall not be infringed. Come hell nor high water! Big Bad Battleships. Some things are eternal in naval life: Cadets swab the deck on a Nassau class dreadnought. While underway, keep swabbing.

yet they still had to call out Rand Paul for some reason

"When asked if they believe that Sen. Rand Paul should be deployed to Syria, 100 percent of respondents said yes."

This is why the Onion pisses me off half the time (overt political bias in their humor). This line in the article doesn't hold any significance to the Syria tie in, except in that he's been one of the most outspoken critics of taking action. The only other people mentioned by name in the story were House and Senate leadership who have signed on, yet they found the space to take a jab at Rand.

The traitor is the plague

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.

Stop Whining to the USA for Help In Your Warmongering

As an American, I am sick and tired of being abused by the leeches of the United Nations and their sympathizers in the American government. I not only want these warmongering fools in the US Congress to don combat gear and personally fight instead of using naive American kids as proxies for their warmongering, I want their sons to do so as well (fortunate son, indeed). Wouldn't it be great if the United States could provide the "moral" support to these whiny interventionist nations occupying the United Nations for once and lay the financial, personal, and technical burden of globalist interventions at THEIR feet? I'm sick of listening to state-run radio broadcasts from New Zealand and Australia constantly whining about providing "moral" support while Americans bleed to death personally and financially. Personally, I'm deeply offended at my country, the USA, being USED by these globalist leeches in the United Nations! If these globalist leeches in the United Nations want to intervene in Syria, YOU go bleed, die, and pay for your warmongering. I'll be sure to provide YOU "moral" support. I want the UN OUT of my country and my country OUT of the UN!

Fortunate Sons, Fortunately I'm Not One

draft them !

they should go and fight the wars themselves.
why should others die so that they can continue getting contributions from the MIC lobbies ?

Dr.Ron Paul's 2002 Predictions

Look at Pelosi's hands. That

Look at Pelosi's hands. That bitch is death warmed over.

This is an awesome post. Only if we really could.

Well, okay, it's The Onion,

but what's the joke? REAL poll results would likely be about the same. And toss in Obama and his Cabinet too.

When asked if they believe

When asked if they believe that Sen. Rand Paul should be deployed to Syria, 100 percent of respondents said yes.

Then we wonder why the world's FU.

Make That 91%

Do I hear 92%?
But.....not all 535 of them, more like all those who vote for bombing Syria.

We can get to many others later on another issue I am sure!
