At the Salon today...

....a lady in the chair beside me was ranting and expounding on her intense hatred for Muslims, she talked, a mile a minute, spewing out misinformation about Islam and the Middle East. I completely disagreed with ALL her political, racist, uneducated, hateful, views. Finally she turned to the War on Syria and she was vehemently opposed to the war. I had to smile, in spite of our radical differences we were in agreement on this important topic.

I received two petitions today to contact my Congress-critters. I filled them both out, substituting my own personal messages, and sent them. One was sent via Democrats.com and the other by the Republican Liberty Caucus. It reminds me of the NSA scandal, everyone is being spied on and no one likes it. Contempt for the Government is drawing people together.

That which unites us is stronger than those issues which divide us.

Interesting little story here

I was talking war with my dad (avid fox news watcher). He was on and on ... spewing Muslim radicalization rhetoric. (trying to say that the religion instils the hatred in them)

Well once in a while I cross paths with my dad at our local gas station, and I noticed that he gets along very well with the owner Ummar (Muslim). Like shooting the $h1t, joking around getting along type thing. That's because Ummar is a really nice dude.

So my response to his Muslim rant was "So dad, do you think Ummar is an out of control crazy a$$hole?"..... and cue the silent "Maybe I should just shut up, because I don't really know what I'm talking about" moment.

Great job! We catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

United in Contempt

,, really

What the hell are you talking about?

Granger these comments are getting more incoherent every day. What are you pissed at?

How lucky I am

I was thinking about how awesome my life was and to count people like you as a blessing for the reality check.. there is misery out there looking for company. Could that be you?

Hi Granger! I guess "contempt of government"

is strange as a unifying force, but it does seem to be the one thing most Americans have in common these days.

People on here seem to think that I engaged this lady at the Salon in conversation. She was quite content to carry on a one sided conversation where no one could get in a comment. Besides, I know better than to argue with such people, especially when my blood is boiling.

Stay safe friend, troubling times we're in.

I only posted anything ((((Linda Cross))))) because "Unity in contempt", phrases what is going on concisely.

It's like an acid bath and I just don't think that's the way to being safe in troubling times.. but these are the times to seek and implement solutions.. seek good fruit and you will find it.

When the Liberty Counsel, the ACLU and the NRA all agree,

as they have on the NSA, you know times are a 'changin'! Ditto goes for the Democrats.com and the Republican Liberty Caucus. My favorite OB-GYN in FL spoke once to the RLC, great speech.

I bet she is a Christian

I bet she is a Christian Zionist too. Probably thinks Israel does not want this war

Thanks Linda,

Did she ever mention why she didn't want 'our' military to attack Syria?

I don't have TV and she seems like a person that gets her 'information' from there.

She was very disturbed by the loss of local, young Americans in

wars in Muslim countries. Jax is a military city so we get more war dead than other areas.

I wish you had...

taken that opportunity right then and there...to ask her "why". Why does she think they fight us...then offer her the education of a lifetime: Tell her to Google "Iran 1953". She'd still be mad, but at least she'd be angry for the right reasons.

Silence isn't always golden....sometimes it's yellow.

The racist stuff

complicates that. She'd already given off flags that she would have a hard time extending her empathy as far as 1953 Iranians.

Most people don't want to be educated

they want to be "know it alls." That's why Ron Paul wasn't widely popular. Always worth a try though, that is if you're not feeling yellow.

Being a Christian

makes me not want to trust Muslims because of what they do to Christians in other countries. But I know for a fact that not all Muslims are evil. Good exists in the middle east.

The crazy "muslims" labeled terrorists are US backed.

They do the crazy, take the blame and the US loots the victims.

Saddam, bin Laden, Musharif and many others are US puppets.

Free includes debt-free!

There are Muslims who probably feel the same way about Christians too considering what we do with our foreign policy that has done more damage than what has been done to Christians in the Muslim world.

I agree bud

But those aren't Christians. Those are frauds.

I thought being a Christian wouldn't allow me to pre-judge others.

when they go Running around, Burning Churches down and slaughtering Christians. It makes me not want to trust them. I'm not judging. But I am pretty sure the Bible says, "Thou Shall Not Kill".

We all make judgements every day. Christians judge in light of the Gospel. Which means they judge their own hearts and motives first. Then they measure everything with the Scriptures realizing that God the Father is our judge and will have the last word.

The Scripture verse "Do not judge lest ye be judged" (Matt 7:1)
He is addressing the Pharisees here and telling them not to judge based on their self righteous standards. He says in John 7:24 "Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgement." This means judge by the example of Jesus and the sacrifice he made for those who would believe in him.

What area of Florida do you live?

I'm in NWF near Pensacola. The MIC and the Federal Government own this area. There are a few outward liberty lovers but most earn their income from the State or a MIC contractor...

I'm in The Villages

It's great to see some Florida people on here? Heres to Liberty in FL.
