Bloodthirsty, Frothing-at-the-Mouth Religious Fanatics

I speak of course of American “evangelical” Christians who the Republican Party is apparently whipping up into a frenzy to support a war in Syria. Referring to the Old Testament, these phony-baloney, Mercedes-driving preachers inform their flocks that Jesus Christ needs their human help in the form of committing mass murder and mayhem in Syria before he can return to earth. These are the same people who nearly booed Ron Paul off the stage at one of their conventions for reminding them that Jesus is known as The Prince of Peace.

Excuse me?

I have read the quote you provided from thomas delorenzo as well as read the article you linked - the words "blood thirsty, frothing at the mouth religious fanatics" are NOT found in either. They are YOUR chosen headline words - unless you copied them from another source you did not credit. I didn't miss details.

Yes, you are right, "Everybody is in denial of something" - how about you my friend?

May I suggest you take your rude attempts at psycho-analysis mumbo jumbo crap towards me and take a good look in the mirror. I can assure you that YOUR words (including your original title) would prove to be far more indicative of an arrogant superiority ego than mine.

And yes, you are forgiven. But just because you are forgiven doesn't mean you are right. Please try to be nicer to people in the future - even to those you call "blood thirsty frothing at the mouth religious fanatics". Perhaps YOU could try following the Bible's golden rule quoted by Ron Paul as well.

here ya go know it all

why would i lie about it? i won't respond to the rest of your post until i receive an apology,
although i'm sure that is beyond you. people like you who insist they're RIGHT even when proven wrong.

In which case...

your posted link should have originally led to that particular article from which you were quoting instead of an entirely different article from usa today...that would have made your post more cohesive and a lot less confusing. It certainly was not clear that your title was also part of Dilorenzo's quote. I did respectfully read your first linked article but after your subsequent rude responses and insults I had no desire to read further clicks from you.

I don't owe you an apology - seems to me there was a miscommunication and you played a part as well. Frankly, after re-reading our exchanges, I believe you own me an apology. I may have disagreed with you on the issue, but you were guilty of the rude personal slurs. However, once again, you are forgiven as I have no need nor expectations of an apology from you. That's between you and your conscience. Besides,I would never insist on an apology from anyone. That defeats the purpose. Apologies are freely given or they are worthless.

Since I am not providing you with your expected "apology", hopefully I can rest assured you will keep your word with no further responses. Thanks - cause I've enjoyed about as much psychological character assassination from a total stranger as I can stand.

bdunn what is your problem?

i said i wouldn't respond to the other items in your last post, not an entirely new one. i did not expect an apology from someone who insists they are right even when proven wrong. i didn't "insist" on an apology. you sure like to twist a persons words to try and make your case. the post was confusing for YOU but no one else. don't you find that a wee bit curious? i reread the exchanges as well, and telling a person they believe they are in denial is a lot different that telling a person they are full of hate, so from my perspective you threw the first punch, and you were PROVEN WRONG, but what should i expect from someone who demands names for proof that there are evangelical warmongers, and a person who pumps themselves up with "i'm a christian" a good christian is not boastful to my mind. finally if you can't stand a lively exchange then you should think twice before sticking your foot in your mouth and posting absurd replies..

YOU are becoming a problem

But I will solve that little issue myself after this comment since you, apparently, will never shut up. It takes two to bicker and I will solve that by removing myself from any further exchange on this topic.
You posted an article - I commented on it - a comment which I might add received 9+ votes so I don't really think I stuck my foot in my mouth. YOU apparently didn't like my view and decided to bicker.
Frankly, YOU began the negatives when you posted a highly insulting thread towards a particular group of people - and you full well knew what you were doing when you chose to post it on the DP.

YOU also threw the first personal slur when you accused me of being in some sort of denial - your insult was FIRST - period. Don't complain when you throw an insult and someone responds in same. But then you didn't stop - you continued with more personal insults - in every response - including the last one.
After my almost 6 years on the DP - you win the jerk award.

Further, you arrogantly insinuate that it is the "Christian's" (my?)responsibility to be nice (to you) while you, of course, have justification to be an ass. What arrogance.
And who said I couldn't handle a "lively" exchange? Only you.I'm doing just fine, thank you - do you actually think YOU have intimidated me? LOL You must be a legend in your own mind.

However, I will waste no further mindful thoughts, or energies, on this. But you feel free to give your best bloodthirsty, foaming at the mouth, fanatical "anti"-christian response. I will not waste my time reading your next lot gibberish and I doubt anyone else will this far back in a post. LOL

do you feel better now?

that you've rationalized everything neatly for yourself?

william burroughs pointed out years ago that some people are infected with the
RIGHT virus. they MUST be right no matter what. you sir are a prime example.

furthermore it is common knowledge that when a person resorts to name calling it's a sure sign they are losing confidence in their position.
i'm sure you disagree because you MUST be RIGHT.

They may be 'religious fanatics' and *call themselves* Christian

but they are by no means 'followers of Jesus', who said: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God!" and "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy." (Matthew 5: 7-9)

They are the ones Jesus spoke of when He said: "Not everyone who calls me, 'Lord, LORD,' will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father in Heaven.

Many will say to Me on that day, 'Didn't we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'

Then I (Jesus) will tell them plainly,"I never knew you! Depart from me, you evildoers! (or lawless ones!)" (Matt. 7: 21 - 23)

"Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the office of a thoroughly nasty business concern." ~~C.S. Lewis
Love won! Deliverance from Tyranny is on the way! Col. 2:13-15

The great irony is that TPTB are convincing Christians to

support the rebels who are killing Christians.

I think we would do well to learn the lesson Yeshua (Jesus) was teaching when he said that "those who live by the sword will die by the sword." I believe we fool ourselves when we think that we can attain peace through war.

I recommend watching that video

I watched it a few years ago and it is very well done and informative. I also have huge respect for Chuck Baldwin, met him and talked with him at the r3VOLution March. Good man.

If Wars Can Be Started by Lies, They Can Be Stopped By Truth.

what year do you think this is?

I dont know a christian, or of person who is not a polititian who is for the war in syria. Heck the local christian radio was talking about how this would be an unjust war. Are you just making this up because you dont like christians?

I know a few.

It's almost like they are brainwashed. The good news is that those who are in support are signifacantly less than those who supported military action in regards to the last few wars.

Reference Please!

Please give actual reference of such "christian" leaders calling for war. Names Please!

I think the press wants the war

Look at the people the article list, one is dead,by over half a century, and one is a "researcher" from San Fransisco, hardly the buckle of the Bible belt.

"Millions of Americans also listened as Herbert W. Armstrong, a warbled-voice minister belted out dire prophecies of famine, war and pestilence in the late 1930s – during the Dust Bowl drought and just before the onset of World War II. President Harry S. Truman, an avid student of the Bible and its prophecies regarding the return of Jews to the Holy Land, was the first world leader to recognize Israel in 1948, a moment some Christians believe began a new prophetic era for events in the Middle East.

Tom Lombardo, a San Franscico-based author and researcher of end time beliefs, believes that the Syrian prophecy is the latest example of some Christians turning to ancient biblical writings to make sense of a modern, complex world."

If these are the only two people the press can bring up to make Christians look like they want a war in syria then this war is even more unpopular than I thought. Particularly when the article doesnt even say that either one of these people want to go to war with syria.
Just another case of the media running the story they want instead of the story.

Lawrence Korb

Listen to this nut from the think tank that controls the white house (CAP) saying that in order to quell the human rights violations of Assad's regime, we must help Al Qaeda... They will surely know how to restore human rights, right? Gimme a break.

take it up

with Thomas Delorenzo at Lew Rockwell. you can contact him there.
Tom wouldn't post or react if he thought it was frivolous, and i'll bet in his travels he's met plenty of that breed. he didn't say ALL of them.

i agree with you that the MSM wants a new war big time, but that doesn't mean there aren't other screwball warvangelicals who want it just as bad.

look above

try watching the video he put in his comment :) I'm a Christian and any real Christian shouldn't support war unless it's for defense only "Just War theory of Christianity."
