charlie rose is warmonger extraordinaire ,

assad should have given the interview to ben swann

haha that would be awesome

"He's this eccentric Ghandi-Like figure that you cant touch with the normal bribes that people respond to."

It's a Sad Day

Sad day when Assad makes more sense than Obama. We're told this guy is an evil, murderous tyrant. He came across as a thoughtful guy, who is trying to hold his country together while being bullied by the World's super power.

You guys are crazy

Do I think we should consider getting involved in this war? Absolutely not. Do I think the U.S. even has a leg to stand on in regards to the rights and wrongs of chemical weapons. No.

With that said, some of you guys are nuts in your comments that "Assad seems sincere", "i trust Assads honesty more than my own president", "I'd like to see charlie rose question our president with as much vitrol as Assad" etc. The guy was clearly lying through his teeth on numerous counts. He plays himself off as this wonderful person who would step down if his people wanted it to keep the integrity of his government. Regardless of who is involved in this war on either side now, it started because of that exact reason, because the Syrian people were sick and tired of his ruthless tyrannical dictatorship. Regardless of who launched the gas, he and his father before him have committed countess atrocities on their own people and others throughout their reign. He says he's just defending his country against al qaeda terrorists trying to take it over. Regardless of the real reason Obama wants to get involved, do you think it would even be a consideration of us "helping the rebels" if it was as simple as Mostly Al Qaeda vs. Assad.

I want to stay out of this as much as all of you and think theres a lot more behind this push than just chemical weapons. But I think many of you are allowing your feelings on going to war give you false impressions on the honesty and integrity of this scum-bag dictator.

How bout me? I claim neutrality.

How bout me? I claim neutrality. Non-intervention. Let the chips fall where they may. But this interview made Charlie look like a Josef Goebbels and Assad was the one smelling like a Rose. That's the neutral's opinion.

And how about listing some of those countless atrocities committed by the Assads? We have teh bombardment of Hama, that's one. Yom Kippur War, that's two. Occupation of Lebanon, well, that's a tough one, considering the other occupiers and what happened under their watch. What others? You said "countless". That means, you know of more.

Go ahead: Make me want to drop my neutrality.

"Cowards & idiots can come along for the ride but they gotta sit in the back seat!"

I think that is a very

I think that is a very level-headed aproach and I have no interest in making you want to drop your neutrality because i think its the right position to be in. You are correct, I probably should not have used the word 'countless'. My point remains though, which is that our foreign policy and presidency being bad should not make people assume that Assads domestic policy and presidency are good by comparison; there is no comparison.

We are so used to being lied to

By our politicians. And the rhetoric from our own politicians is so foggy. The statements Assad made during this interview were clear. "If you have evidence, present it, the end."

I would not support Assad or his character for a second. I wouldn't want to. I really know nothing about him or any other foreign leader. And most foreign affairs and personalities are neither here nor there for me. That is not where I focus my attention or efforts.

But I think we are so starved for clarity, common sense, and truth from our leadership... that when we even taste anything like common sense, even if just for just a few lines during a TV interview, we digest it and burp loudly haha.

If Charlie's goal was to make

If Charlie's goal was to make Obama look innocent and Assad look like a fool...then Rose failed miserably. American interlopers are desperately trying to destroy Syria with this farce of call to war...and in doing so have destroyed their own credibility and exposed cowardly deception on the part of Western Democracy. I am ashamed.

I thought Assad

Handled that hostile interview very well. He came across as honest.

Perhaps Charlie Rose should ask Obama for an interview and treat him as hostile as he treated Assad.

@4:44 of part 2....

Why has this war lasted 2 1/2 years?

Because of the external interference. Because there is external agenda supported by, or lets say led by, the United States, the West, the petrodollar countries mainly Saudi Arabia, and before was Qatar and Turkey. That's why it lasted 2 years and a half.

I'm a serial entrepreneur and liberty activist from Texas!

Public ignorant of Petrodollar

And Syria is not a part of the petrodollar system.

Syria stands at the door to the emergence of the Eastern Alliance, the new dominant energy pipelines, a new payment system detached from the USDollar and Anglo banks. Syria stands at the door which controls some incremental European energy supply. Syria stands at the door to Gold Trade Settlement, with a transition step that brings more importance to commodity backed currencies and proper valid systems for trade. Syria means the pipelines strangle the USDollar. Syria means the end of the US system of IOU coupons that pollute the global banking system. Syria means the status quo is coming to an abrupt end.

Is It Horrible Of Me????

Is it horrible of me to instinctively TRUST Assad more than my own president and many of my own representatives?

I know Assad faces possible attack by the US, so may be putting on a front in this interview, just to persuade. But I instinctively believe his rhetoric OVER Kerry's and Obama's rhetoric.

Is that just horrible?

Regardless of what kind of

Regardless of what kind of person Assad is, or even how trustworthy he is as a human being, it certainly doesn't hurt that he has the facts and common sense on his side

If you could just tell us...

...what would be your response to an attack? When would it come? How would you do it? How many people would it involve? What time would it take place? That would be great. Thanks.

If you could just leave your bedroom window open, so a drone

"If you could just leave your bedroom window open, so a drone can glide in one evening with big hello from your little friends in the Gulf states?"

This is very dangerous time,

This is very dangerous time, folks. The propaganda being spewed by the Administration and its public relations apparatus, i.e. the mainstream media, is an utter and colossal failure. This is so amateurish and such a botch job it is actually waking up the sheep and producing the opposite effect of its intended objective. This is so unconvincing that even Brawndo might withdrawal its sponsorship...

the disrespect and contempt pouring out of Rose

was disgusting. We need to get Ben Swann to interview Assad, then we'll see REAL journalism.

for this proposal !!!

Just finished watching interview...

and I found Charlie Rose so embarrassing...I hope he is not a "typical" American, in particular a "typical" congressman or senator. Such simplistic thinking...and utterly incapable of complex thinking. Phew....it was embarrassing to listen to him. I hope this works out for the Syrian people. Are we, Americans, always this simple?

Now have listened to Assad (very impressive), Ahmadinejad, Putin, and Chavez. They all seem like honest, intelligent, and caring people. Never, besides Ron Paul, have I heard an American politician with such intelligence and logic. It is no wonder that I hate politics and always thought it was a sham. The majority of Americans, whether by plan or accident, have been dumbed-down to the point of sadness. It would be funny if it was not so serious.

Did Charlie Rose come up with those idiotic questions all by himself? Do the politicians and media whores have to hold in their laughter while putting on these acts? No wonder they make me squirm.

You are giving Rose the

You are giving Rose the benefit of the doubt that he is actually a journalist. In which case, yes. It would be very simplistic thinking. But he is not a real journalist. This is only propaganda. This is agenda driven programming at its finest.

Assad is right

If you have evidence that the Syrian government used chemical weapons on their own people, then that should be shown via the media.
Why hasn't this been shown? Oh, we really care about family values and can't show it for fear of offending someone...is that it?
Come on now, we have little kids playing video games about killing and war, so what's a little chemical evidence gonna do? corrupt the youth? Come on Good time Charlie, you should be questioning this evidence that was "shown" only to the people's representatives.
Where's the evidence?
There is none, or if there is, it was by the rebels themselves used to draw America into war. The rebels will cheer when missiles take out the infrastructure...it will give them the green light to kill at will.
Every time there is a WAR, we lose liberties at home.
Just say no to war America.

IMO this would be the proper function of the UN:

having an international court where cases can be presented
[ie Syria vs. US]
liability demonstrated
[chemical weaponry]
and issues resolved
[US vs. contingent USSR],

rather than ostentatious countries
(like the US)
claiming authoritarian immunity while openly threatening other entities without proof

(or depending on a biased foreign news outlet for example);

I'm just asking - Are we

I'm just asking - Are we going to murder hundreds of thousands, possibly millions (I'm talking about beyond the missile strikes), of Syrians so Israel can be a superpower in the ME, and the west can have all of the natural resources of the region for free?
From Wikipedia: "Rose has attended several Bilderberg Group conference meetings, including meetings held in the United States in 2008;[17] Spain in 2010;[18] and Switzerland in 2011.[19]"

it's not only the west..

"China Is Reaping Biggest Benefits of Iraq Oil Boom"

nobody gets Iraq's oil for free. it's sold at market prices under the name "Basra Light" and "OPEC Reference Basket (ORB)"
Iraqi oil is under control of an Iraq Govt agency "Ministry of Oil" Much of the oil money in the form of taxes goes into the Iraqi govt. Including the Iraq Economic Development Fund. Under Saddam there was a similar system but he stole most of it.

All a Scam? probably yes. But "we" the west and US people are not benefitting from playing mercenary. it's only a small click of international investors benefitting from bring order to chaos and chaos to order.
