I think it was suppose to be

I think it was suppose to be like a speech. Much like a state of the union rebuttal. I thought it was smart for him to do it this way. He's showing leadership.

i am not disagreeing that this is the format which is needed for

for people to listen.

I am just saying my personal preference would be different.

I think it was supposed to be more of a formal speech like that. Keep it professional. You gotta talk on the same wavelength of speaking style as the president did to make it a legit response.

I am Ron Paul

Obama gives me splitting headaches

It all started back when ObamaCare was passed... so no Occupant speech for me.

Did enjoy Rand's response, however.

U.N. human rights investigation into U.S. drones

From this article: http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2013-03-15/world/37734317...

CIA drone strikes on targets in Pakistan violate its national sovereignty and have resulted in far more civilian casualties than the U.S. government has recognized, a special U.N. human rights envoy reported after a secret investigation in Pakistan

The USA doesn't have the moral authority to do jack squat.

Well ... No mullet tonight.

Must have fixed the Flo Bee.

Bro - you trash talkin' the Flo Bee?

It's a big money saver.

I couldn't bare to watch or listen to

the nation's leading teleprompter reader.
I was referring to Obama.

It was measured and reasonable

I am not a huge fan of Rand (my politics are more radical) but I am sure that his carefully thought out response will play well with the vast majority of Americans.

The idea that the U.S. has any role in the Syrian civil war is anathema to me, so Rand's insistence that the U.S., along with Russia, can broker a deal among Syrians that will bring peace seems naïve and maybe even dangerous. However, even more dangerous is the idea that we can bomb them into good behavior (not just dangerous, down right deranged). So I'd say Rand gave an effective and appropriate political response to Obama.

I beleive we can play a role

I beleive we can play a role in the world but it should alway be diplomatic.

Pretty Good Word

from Rand ... heard it on Huff Post
yes diplomacy outcome would be best.
Talking (as the Russians did not the US) to Syria about this.
The only good thing I can think of for Obomba tonight - at least he
covered many scenarios and acknowledged (a little bit) that the people don't want a war ... even if that means in his mind just blowing some shit up on a Friday night while having a beer and then it is over.
Nothing good would come from anything like that.
No boots on the ground (what are we stupid) that would be just a matter of time. Stay tuned.

Republicans & Democrats Change Places!

Its a funny game they like to play. It happens from time to time, kind of like how the sun flips poles from time to time. Everything eventually becomes its opposite.

Senator Rand Paul yanked control of America from the King.

The credibility of America is not vested in on person. The Credibility of America is vested in the voice of it's people.

Rand will be carried live (Fox) as soon as it happens...

Karl Rove on now, so probably should wait...

thats just his youtube page..

where is a good link??

Just found this... I think this is it

My response to the President after his speech

I just posted this message on http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact

Dear Mr. President

I watched your address to the American People tonight and I will not support your military plans.

I did see the videos of Syrian children stricken by some kind of deadly attack from unseen assailants. I have 3 children of my own and I was horrified by what I saw.

I have not seen video of a child killed in a drone attack by a men sitting in a darkened room, somewhere here in the United States. I have not seen images of a child's body disfigured or dismembered by a weapon that was designed, built and deployed by Americans who do their work and then drive home to their families at night.

I have not seen the youthful bodies of drone victims but I know they have drenched dusty ground with their blood. They died in each case because YOU PERSONALLY ordered the attack.

The United States also has stockpiles of chemical weapons, uses depleted uranium ammunition and white phosphorus in combat, and let us not forget, is the only country ever in history to use nuclear weapons against innocent civilians, killing more than 200,000 Japanese.

The US federal government has no moral ascendency when it comes to killing innocent men, women and children with horrifying weapons of mass destruction.

I refuse to lend my name as an American citizen to any military action or threat of military action against Syria.

Children are Pawns

When a politician references children you can be sure that he is manipulating and not communicating.

While we wait for Rand....

constitutional democracy?

All the Syrian women and children killed by US airstrikes will be labeled as human shields because Assad will get the blame for those deaths as well.

He used that same term

He used that same term in this past Sunday's "weekly address" too. >_<

So Mike,

It looks like even with your encouragement it seems like no one here can stomach him long enough to comment. Well anything but "I can't stomach him long enough to comment".

You are going to get much more meat and potatoes out of us when rand starts speaking. Thanks for getting us all together though. I feel like I am playing fantasy football for adults.

I only said that because someone said they down-voted the other thread because it wasn't the official GOP response. This is pretty big on twitter.
