Are We Better Knowing?

I can honestly say that I miss the days when my evenings consisted of hanging out with the neighbors drinking Cpt. Cokes and talking about our small and very insignificant lives. I was still in collage and living with my then boyfriend whom I will later marry. Gas was below $1.40 per gal and Lord when it did go up we were all going to take a stand and not buy gas on Tuesday to really stick it to em!

Yes...those were the days. But that all changed. I am a different person now.

Sometimes I am envies of those who are still in that place. Nothing has changed for them while my whole world has changed.

I was just thinking about this as I sit here watching reruns of Friends. I've been watching these all evening. Remember when Rachel got knocked up and we were all waiting for her to reveal who done it? Man...I used to love Friends. Have you figured out my age yet?

I was so naive back then. But I was a simple little happy person. I was happy. So am I better off now knowing what I know? Sometimes I'm not so certain. Sometimes I ask myself what I would be doing if I wasn't "awake".

If you could go back...would you take the red pill or the blue pill?

How long could it last?

Happiness founded on ignorance won't prevail through hardships vigilance could otherwise prevent.

I've felt this way before

I've felt this way before too...but you know, I think it's worth knowing. Someday, this debt and all these fiscal promises are going to fail, and there's going to be a day that the nation chooses between 1913 and 1776. 1913 being Marx and Lenin, some people will be calling for "We will all be equal, We will all work together, the gov will provide everyone a house, a job and a car. Plenty of services and high taxes. Essentially Socialism/Communism. Or 1776. Madison and Jefferson. Reset to a fed gov that is limited to defending life-Liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Provides for the National defense and a justice system. Very little else. It's worth knowing what's up, there are other's out there, Many many many thanks to Mr. Nystrom for this wonderful site, it has given me hope in dark days....

Don't despair

Don't despair, the only reason why you're down, is because you see this Goliath in front of you and in your mind there is nothing that you do will be able to destroy it. Figure out the rules of the game, so you may break them, use the system to your advantage, infiltrate it, profit from it, and destroy it from the inside. Having knowledge is one thing, it will only gets you so far before you need to get some action, otherwise you'll be depressed. Your husband is right, if you're not planning to do anything about it, why get involved.

It's good that you were happy and enjoyed life, but obviously

you were more curious or aware than your other Friends or something, otherwise you'd still be there. Looks like you decided to play a different game than that! It can still be very enjoyable!

Yes. Everyone here had an

Yes. Everyone here had an awakening. And although we werent born awake...i do beleive there is something in those of us who are awake. like an extra nurotransmitter in our brain or something that made us more sensetive. or perhaps we were chosen by God.

Can you pin point the time when you woke up?

They are eating you

Are you better off not knowing? No, because unlike the matrix there will always be a moment that you will know they are eating you.

You do not get to die without seeing their jaws disemboweling you.

This knowledge will come to most as they have no money, and the healthcare they were convinced to depend on is not there and they die waiting for care.

The only case where you would be better off knowing is when you assume you will die before you know the truth and PAINLESSLY

You will not die painlessly. There is no money to afford for you to die painlessly. Once you are dying, due to the natural inevitable logic of democracy there is no reason to expend a single resource on you.

I would still take the red pill

But I'd also ask for the ability to convey the message better than I do.I mean, if we're just gonna be asking for things. :)

Do you ever contemplate all

Do you ever contemplate all the things we don't know? It's a real trip. How far into the matrix do we want to go?

Michael Nystrom's picture

It is a trip

Sounds like you're really trippin too!

I had a late night of

I had a late night of thoughts last night. But not drug induced. I gave that up when I was 17 when I got knocked up and had to raise another human. Now that's a trip!

I think you meant to say 'Are we better OFF knowing.'...

But, to answer your actual question,

Yes - we are better knowing.

Better people.
Better neighbors.
Better friends.

It was probably the pandas.

This brings up something i haven't thought much about

Your comment "better people, better neighbors, better friends", brings up a good question.
Our entire platform relies on people being good people. do we trust people enough to do that?
I'd like to think I do, but do I really?
You don't.

Evil exists in the world.

So does good.

Never the blue pill

You're better off. You just don't know it yet. But one day, you'll realize. It will all become clear.

Would you rather be this guy?

I don't know. I guess I'm in

I don't know. I guess I'm in a "mood" tonight. Steak sounds good. I just feel defeated at times.

Michael Nystrom's picture

Hang in there

Oh boy do I know about "moods" !

You woke up early, and it isn't an easy path. Sooner or later, everyone hits the wall - whether it is because of a health issue (following the FDA's 'food pyramid' that makes them ill), getting caught up in the IRS's web, falling into massive debt, or some other scam. And then the awakening begins: Everything I thought was true, actually isn't. And deep goes the rabbit hole to strange and unexpected places.

Be happy that it happened to you early, while you're still young. I used to love Friends, too. I was in my mid 20's in the mid 90's. I worked as a stockbroker in Seattle so I was into work at 6, and out by 2, and then straight to the bar (The Art Bar) until about 8, sometimes later. I remember one time I got sick, went to the bathroom and threw up, then came back to the table and kept drinking! LOL. Oh boy, those were the days alright.

Y2K was my awakening. Or so I thought. When the world didn't end -- that was my REAL awakening.

And in the end, friend, it is all about learning to know and understand yourself, and your own journey. None of that other stuff out there matters. You are in a matrix. Yes the matrix is run by criminals and thieves. So much of what happens in the world is out of your control.

The only thing you can control are your thoughts and actions, and sometimes it seems even those are out of your own control.

Sometimes you want to eat steak. And sometimes it is not bad to have a steak. See how you feel afterwards. It is all a journey. It is all here for your spiritual growth and development. It is not about the world outside, but about the world inside.

Here. Have a cookie. Come tomorrow morning, you'll feel right as rain.

In the mean time, I'm sending out my love to you.

Omg! You are like the Oracle!

Omg! You are like the Oracle! Thanks. I will have a cookie.

I suppose part of what I'm feeling is age also.

Have a good night friend.

Michael Nystrom's picture

Just curious. Can you feel my love?

I don't know who you are, or where you are, but as I send my love out to you, can you feel it?

BTW, age gets old. (lol)

Yes I do. What distinguishes

Yes I do. What distinguishes the DP from other forums? There is a lot of love in here.

I don't know who you are either. But I do know you aren't just some electrical impulse on the other side of my computer. Something has brought us all together for a reason...and it is very real my friend.

Michael Nystrom's picture

Good. That is good to know.

That means it is working!

Stay tuned into the love. It is everywhere you go. It is all around you. It is the universal glue and healing energy of the universe. You just have to dial into the right frequency to feel it, and once you do, you discover it is everywhere. Dial in and hold that frequency.

It is the most powerful, and most misunderstood force in the universe. It is to the advantage of The Powers That Be to minimize its understanding among the masses. It is the one thing they cannot combat. The best they can do is disrupt you from finding and holding the frequency.

Thank you! I love you!

I woke up with the sun this

I woke up with the sun this morning. It was so beautiful! And then I swam across my lake. Yes, I am lucky enough to live on a lake in a rural area way up north...where God speaks to you. I swam a half a mile. Doesn't seem very far but the task grows in length when you attempt it. In the eight years I've lived here I've wanted to swim across my lake. I first did it 2 weeks ago. And now I've done it 7 times. It does get easier each time I do it.

I had the most peaceful morning. And your words ring true.

That was one of the most upbeat things I've read on the Daily Paul. Thank you both for that exchange!

Lol! Yes...I'm in a moooood.

Lol! Yes...I'm in a moooood.

I like steak too, but don't overcook it. Eat the red meat. ;)

You know what's funny? I

You know what's funny? I don't like steak as much as I used to after I found out how bad it is for you. Honestly...I love pizza.

Woof! That is bad for you too - lol
