Benghazi or Ben Ghazi: What Do College Students Really Know These Days?
I was totally flabergasted this morning as a friend of mine walked into the office and relayed a story of his daughters experience in a English literature class at San Jose State University yesterday.
When asked by the teacher if anyone knew anything about the attack on Benghasi on 9-11 last year, only my friends daughter could explain the incident.
Several students thought the attack on the Benghazi consulate call was an attack on an American citizen named Ben Ghazi.
No, I am not kidding or making this one up, i am deadly serious. I was in stunned silence at first, but then i burst out laughing.
My fellow patriots, this is not really something that is funny, its so very sad.
The state of education in America is pretty disgusting.
Additionally, while discussing the original thirteen colonies one of the students in that class exclaimed, "I didn't realize that the original 13 colonies were on the east coast."
later in the shift, I asked a co-worker what he thought of this English class of students not knowing of the of Benghazi attack, his answer astounding me. He said, "oh, they were probably focusing on Shakespeare or something."
At that point i burst out laughing so hard it felt like my gut was about to bust..
