:)

I love this post. Thanks Chris.

I read

something from I AM That every day.

The Real Deal

I've read nearly every book Wayne Dyer has ever written. Superb renditions of the perennial philosophy.
Delivers a peace that is hard to find in the realm of politics...

Highly recommended reading....Sort of the "Ron Paul" of metaphysics...Thx for posting!

I read that book in the early '90s

and it changed forever how I viewed the world. I actually read it about 5 times and several of his other books, too. Extremely profound. A friend recommended it to me, said it was all the stuff I talk about that she never could understand. I had no idea what she was talking about until I read it. Actually, I Am That, gave me the words to many of the feelings and musings in my head I was anable to articulate and moved me forward in a way I never imagined.
Many years before discovering Nisargadatta Maharaj, I had met a Native American who said living life was a spiritual journey. I understood what he meant, but for me, Nisargadatta helped me to put that into practice.

I like most of what Dyer writes too.

My only concern or criticism of him is that he completely unplugs the principles he teaches, from the great need of a Redeemer. I could be wrong, because I've not researched or read everything he has written.

But it's very irresponsible, if not heretical and one of the greatest disservices you can do to mankind, to teach sublime truths but disconnect them from the Giver and Author of the truths. Sure he might use the word "god," much like Obama says he "obeys the constitution," but Mr. Dyer I believe completely steers clear if not outright teaches there is no sin, and thus no need for a Redeemer.

I'm not throwing the baby out with the dirty water, I'm just saying to be careful to not get suckered by the mystical (even occult) teachers who set themselves up for a light while they deny the redeeming power of Christ.

I probably shared too much here, and may get downvoted. That's fine. I repeat, I think Dyer makes good contributions to self-improvement. I continue to read his stuff, but it's important to discern the truths from the untruths. Embracing the untruths stunts personal growth.

As proof of what I'm saying is true, he says IN THIS VERY CLIP at the end, that he doesn't know how the "orange juice" get inside the orange. He hasn't therefore "tasted," so he doesn't know. This is proof he doesn't "get it," or that he has "tasted", but is covering up something. He doesn't want to go "there," as "it" leads to an awakening to the need for a Savior because there is sin and consequences, and that we are in a testing period here on earth, which is the very purpose of life.

You misunderstood me

I don't even know who Dyer is. I was only refering to Nisargadatta Maharaj and that I read 'I Am That' and several other books about Nisargadatta Maharaj's teachings. I should have been more clear in my comment, I guess.
As for Redeemer, I leave that to the individual. I try never to layer my beliefs on someone else, just offer tidbits on stuff I picked up along the way. Jesus saves each person individually, that's His job, not mine. I really don't see where most of the religions disagree in key areas, and focus on similarities, not differences. I have an extremely wide view of it all - it's all God. If you look at everything that way, petty differences disappear.

I Enjoyed This Clip...

I enjoyed this clip, and I am an atheist. You don't need religion to appreciate wisdom.

He literally is comparing apples to oranges

He's comparing a physical make-up of one thing to a mental make-up of another. Compare them dropping from 20 floors and see what you get. Just another guy out to make a buck on simpletons

Excellent!!

I will share this!

Thanks Chris...

...that was nice.

I too, believe I needed that.

We were meant to see it, and you to post it.

Thanks again.

To complete the parable by answering the second question of...

...how do you get only orange juice inside?

I'll quote the text of the book which changed my life, and leave it up to interested folks to discover what book. This book taught me of God's love. And taught me that Christ wants to be our Deliverer not just spiritually, but temporally as well. Thus it focuses on inspiring us to "yield" our wills to God, and awakening us to the great Satanic conspiracy which seeks to destroy us temporally.

Here's how to make orange juice and "fill" our soul with it:

"Nevertheless they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with (ORANGE JUICE) joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God."

Also since he talked about becoming a "saint," this classic verse comes to mind:

"For the natural man (NON ORANGE JUICE) is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father."

"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a rEVOLution before tomorrow morning." - Henry Ford

Interesting timing indeed.

Can't believe the timing on this. Just last night I got very upset with someone because he (squeezed) offended me. Won't get into details. Part of my day I was justifying my actions, & blaming the squeezer for what came out of me (it was really quite nasty). I'll most definitely be apologising next time I see him.

Thanks Chris for the Post....

I tried to post this 5 months ago but I couldn't find it.

I searched and searched youtube but it wasn't there.

Today someone mentioned 'this is an orange' and I thought of it again. Happily it was there.

This is absolutely one of the most important things I have ever learned and I am absolutely happy so many of you, my friends, are enjoying it too.

9-11 was a panda job.

I was also needing that today.

Thanks for posting it.

Perfect timing!

Thanks buddy; needed that today. Am typing this note from my study room, after scolding my son for 'making me angry'. Need to go and apologize to someone...

Some people think squeezing oranges causes bad things to happen

But those are the kinds of people who try to blame everything bad on the juice.

Chris, thanks for sharing

Chris, thanks for sharing this. I think it's quite a powerful metaphor for life experiences.

...

It makes my dog go crazy. Try

It makes my dog go crazy. Try squeezing an orange in front of your dog.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

If someone squeezed me like an orange

I think blood and guts would come out, because that's what inside me.

There's only one way to find out...

...

9-11 was a panda job.

No thank you.

I'm quite confident what would come out.

I say that with love.
