We're Past Complaining About Government

I think we're past complaining about our government's corruption and ineptness. This should be obvious. I offer this short list of things people can do instead of complaining (in no particular order). Feel free to continue the list in the comment section.

1. mass civil disobedience and protesting, challenge every unjust law, never take a plea bargain
2. start non-governmental institutions, groups, and businesses to compete with and eventually replace government run institutions, especially in education, law enforcement/protection, and in judicial/arbitration
3. quit working for bad companies and start your own businesses or find good business to work for. never say "I'm just doing my job"
4. run for local and state offices, especially for sheriff, put your name and reputation on the line, become active in your community and support good candidates in the primaries
5. QUIT CALLING THE POLICE FOR HELP whenever possible, engage and organize your own communities, don't rely on government for help
6. live and think like you are free, love others, help people, help your community, build networks.
7. learn and teach about self-ownership, the non-aggression principle, non-intervention, property rights, and Austrian Economics
8. cut off your cable completely...immediately! get plugged into alternative media online.
9. Develop an emergency plan for your family to enact in any emergency situation. Imagine no power and no communications for 3 days to 2 weeks. How would you know if your family around the city/state is safe? How would you get information? Do you have any food storage? Do you have extra supplies?
10. quit asking the government to enforce your beliefs and values on other people, quit asking the government permission to do things

What would you add?

100% Correct

If we ever face a social collapse, gardening is the one thing that will keep people from killing each other very quicky. We have a large garden and I am going to have to set up a "Free Garden Produce" stand becuase the massive amount of food we have.

If you have 10 healthy zuccini plants I am telling you right now your community wont starve. People might get sick of zuccini but they wont go hungry...

We all share this eternally evolving present moment- The past and future only exist as inconsequential mental fabrications.

So true

The same can be said of cucumbers. They produce for months and produce a seemingly endless supply. I've had to grow my "friend group" just to have enough people to eat all the zucs and cucs. Now if I could just get my broccoli to do that!

I don't wish to rain on the Zucchini parade here,

but they only have about 30-40 calories apiece. 60 zucchini a day is a rough way to get all your calories.

Potatoes are one of the densest calories per acre plant.

You've got that right!

I once grew a short row of zucchinis and we had zucchini soup, zucchini bread, fried zucchini, roasted zucchini, zucchini Parmesan, etc. We were bloody sick of the things and I think my neighbors were too. I couldn't give them away fast enough. It is a super-prolific vegetable. Ten or twelve plants will give a bushel a day, every day for quite a while. The following year I only grew 2 plants.

Eat alot of bugs and mine are producing way more eggs than we can eat. Fried eggs, boiled eggs, egg salad sandwiches, quiche, ( Bubba from Forrest Gump here) lots of poop for the garden.

My squash plants shriveled and died. 3 squash. 8 plants. Hmmm. Lots of tomatoes though.
