Washington Post: Rand Paul, 2016 Republican Front-Runner

The first eight-plus months of 2013 have convinced us of one thing: Rand Paul acts and the rest of the potential 2016 Republican presidential field reacts.

Kris Krispie

will be the Rootie Gooliani of 2016. Krispie does not play well outside the northeast and he is not a conservative. Definitely not a #2. Other than Rand and Cruz...pretty weak field if you ask me.

I'm hoping

that all other republican contenders just give up. Let Christie try, he'll get destroyed in the primaries. Libertarians have changed the narrative despite the wishes of the elites.

My biggest fear is what TPTB usually do in with anything that challenges the power structure: co-opt the opposition. Water it down/make it mainstream. We don't want Rand to turn into the libertarian Obama who came off as so pure and principled to then be corrupted and influenced by "advisers" who seem to be the ones who make the decisions for POTUS... Right?

I do not feel that Rubio,

I do not feel that Rubio, Cruz, and Jindal can run for Presidency do to the Natural born Citizen clause.

This troica can run for POTUS if Obama was allowed to run.

I didn't think that duel national Obama could run either, but he did, and he is our current president. Agree with you that I think none of them can run, but we are looking at a right side up world, not our current upside down one. Look at how many unelected bureaucrats are now running European countries that were appointed by the EU. This is nothing short of an ongoing worldwide tyranny.

Obama at least has one parent

Obama at least has one parent of American citizenship, jindal and Rubio had none. And Cruz was born and lived in another country for his first 4 years. I would argue they are even less potential than Obama, except those that argue Obama wasn't even born here, I am not one of those individuals though.

Granted my opinion of by blood only requires at least one parent, some argue two.

Maybe congress should define it, but I doubt they ever will. Problem with trying to enforce both parents, you now have eliminated the children of the thousands of single mothers who never wrote down who the father was or gave them up for adoption. Or all the children of soldiers who brought home a wife from abroad etc.

I applaud Rand

for what he has achieved so far. It was never going to be easy. The establishment/career politicians are not going to just give up their money and power to some guy who wants to do something silly like follow the constitution and maneuver us into a more limited federal government. I think deep down he must hate playing the politics of it all, but he seems to be good at it, because he is making a difference, you have to admit.

"It’s not pessimistic, brother, because this is the blues. We are blues people. The blues aren’t pessimistic. We’re prisoners of hope but we tell the truth and the truth is dark. That’s different." ~CW

Rand has come a long way in the last 2 years

Given the rejection the party insiders had for Ron Paul, maybe they finally have figured it out? They can't win without us.

I'm done with republicans

Any gov, even a small one is nothing but monopolized force.

I may support a libertarian candidate, even if they are a minarchist like GJ, but i do know for sure at this point, Rand will not get my vote. He can take his American exceptionalism arrogance and shove it.

I will most likely take Lew Rockwells advice and boycott the election system and this gov as much as possible.

I'm done with the son

I ask for a DNA test. Flip-flop-flip-flop-flip-flop...
