Young man makes anti-Muslim comments in front of U.S. soldier - The soldier's reply? Priceless

[For those who lump all military vets into one ugly category, "baby killers".]

It seems that no matter how much money the US govt throws at it, the anti-Muslim propaganda campaign is failing
This powerful social experiment set out to show us a glimpse of the disturbing discrimination many Muslims sadly face every day in America. I began watching this video thinking I would be left feeling disheartened and angry, but the words the soldier says at 5:05 are so powerful that I wish all people who held prejudice could hear him speak.

The video with actors is stupid.

Let's stick to real videos. Watch the Muslim man interviewed in this video and tell me if you want people like him pouring into your country calling for Sharia law.

If you use the peep hole in your door before opening it that's profiling. If you don't use it, you're not too bright.

Does anyone else struggle with this?

This is a topic I struggle with! Judging what is right and wrong in circumstances such as this.

Granted the part being acted out may seem repulsive to some or even most, myself included, but does freedom of speech mean anything? Or does it only apply when the subject/topic/speech is agreeable. It's not freedom of speech, only for those you agree with, it's freedom of speech for all. And as bigoted as he sounded, did he actually harm anyone? Or do we now lean on all the 1st ammendment erroding laws that have been enacted; hate speech, free-speech zoning, etc? Which increasingly are or will infringe on everyone's speech at one time or another. And which, may land some in jail!

As much as emotion tells me to like what the soldier had to say, I'm not sure I can agree with his "shut up, get out" response. What makes him right? What gives him the authority to try to tell someone to "shut up and get out". He says he's fighting for the one guys right to religious belief, but does he not realize a person's freedom of speech? Again, what is free speech, and is there a line to be drawn. If so, who draws it. And here we are right back at the point of enacting 1st ammendment erroding laws.

The only way I could see it following a true constitutional, freedom and liberty framed situation, is that the owner of the property would have the right to ask the guy to leave. But as we know, owners of properties have had laws enacted against them as well which removes their ability to serve, entertain, rent to, etc. someone they agree/disagree with.

The soldier is an example of one aspect of "American" programming. Programed to think he is "liberty's representative" is just another example of a knee jerk, feel good, or "I'm the man" attitude, which is displayed by America in many instances, one of which is pushing our thinking or way of life on others by force. Granted, he only used words in this scenario, but where would it have ended? America always resorts to force.

Again, I admit to struggling with this from a true freedom, liberty, constitutional perspective. What is right in these types of circumstances? Think West Borough Baptist church. They disgust me, but where's the line. Chik-fil-A, shouldn't they have a right to believe what they want, and serve who they choose? They'd probably go out of business, but hey, that's the true free market, without laws saying who they must serve? Or the pastor in Florida, Terry Jones, recently arrested for "going" to burn some Korans? Why?

Or, is freedom a bad thing? ;) Thoughts?

Feel-good BS

Message is: Everyone is the same, period. Anybody who distinguishes among different types or cultures is a retarded caricature like the actor in the video.

In fact, to be leery of cultures and groups that don't necessarily have healthy value systems is the intelligent approach.

Sucks because I have a

Sucks because I have a relative as dumb and thickheaded as the idiot that agreed with him. That was hard to watch. Just drives a wedge deeper between us.

After rethinking

My gut instinct was to agree with the soldier. After rethinking. Slept on it and got a bad taste in my mouth.

The whole thing stinks.

Sorry but I found the soldier

Sorry but I found the soldier just as obnoxious in his self righteousness as the propaganda victim. They are both trying to define America as they see it. The American worried about muslim terrorists is the victim of massive fear mongering from the media and government.
One question I always wondered was why so many muslims who must object (or at least mistrust western civilization especially after all the invasive wars in the middle east) are relocating to North America in great numbers and demanding with lobbied protests sharia law used for them in our courts and insist on exemptions for their dress code in military, photo id's & licenses, secular exclusion in the classrooms. Why is the government bringing them in in such great numbers? Why do they come?

I've wondered this, too--

though I believe only a minority care about Muslim laws--

but I believe that American warmongers have always allowed people who are 'conquered' to come to America--

certainly many Germans came after WWII; so did many Japanese--

the 'government' doesn't care about anyone's rights--

just about achieving the goals of their corporate globalist owners--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

I just wonder what the carrot

I just wonder what the carrot is they are offering to make them want to come?

Nice job by the army guy but

Nice job by the army guy but has anyone happened to notice that most of the small business in this country has been taken over by by immigrants. There is a reason Apu runs the quikie mart. They don't have to pay taxes for a certain amount of time. When their time gets close to expiring they rearrange owner ship. I'd do it to. Taxation is theft. Allowing these so called terrorists to live tax free adds to the average Joe's resentments. It is contrived to transfer blame away from the system.

I agree with Joey...

and also Bob45...both are correct.
Joey is right as these immigrants are given WAAAAY more opportunity by the Feds than you or I could ever hope for; they are given an interest-free small business loan, pay no federal income tax for 7 years and other perks...in some cases (where the immigrant comes here because of political or religious 'persecution') they are also given $30,000 in cash as a gift, not a loan. Soooo....they get the 30k as a down payment on the Dunkin Donuts, a zero-interest loan and then in the 6th year, they get a cousin to move here (getting all the same stuff) and sell the business to the cousin who pays no tax for the next 7 years. The cycle continues forever...and you and I are paying for it!!!! I'm in a financial crisis right now and have been trying to get some help...and don't "qualify" for anything!! Apparently I need to lose my house, car and credit first....there is definitely a double-standard.
Bob45 is also correct in that we should be angry at the system for enabling all this.

Apu runs the Quikie mart

because he works 7 days a week, 16 hours a day, doesn't have to have the latest "i want", 60 inch TV, mega sound system, 10 "gotta have watches, 18 pairs of sunnies, the latest car, and a walk in "drobe with 80 pairs of shoes, 100 shirts, 90 pairs of trousers, and all the other consumer shit that seems to be essential in the land of the free.

Please excuse my

Please excuse my ignorance...but what does "Apu" mean?

Apu runs the "Quickie Mart" in Springfield on the Simpsons.

Apu works his ass off by choice and now to pay taxes as the Simpsons has been on quite some time. If he wanted those consumer goods he could probably have them.

Want to hate anybody? Hate the banksters and IRS.

I hope I live to see the day when IRS get 30 day notices that they resign or suffer the consequences. I hope I live to see the day when banksters hang out the windows of their offices. After a fair trial, of course.

Bump for fine-tuned hate.

Like violence and deception, it has its place in very specifically proscribed circumstances.

Hate on, brah!
