CA to raise minimum wage by $10 by 2016

http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-minimum-wage-20130913,...

Get ready for higher prices, firing of employees and weakened California and therefore a weakened global economy to go with it. Don't you just love price fixing? These niave Keynesians are stuck in there fairytale world in which economies are fixed by government interventionism. Statists be all around us.

As bad religion once said......."The Voice of God is Government."

Perfect Timing!

Right before the coming economic depression this will ensure it's effects become even more m@gnified in the st@te. BR@VO idiots in S@cr@mento!

Here in Montana, I was informed recently that McDonald's starting wage of $9.00 per hour dropped to $8.50 per hour ... I wonder why?

McDonald's employees have just regurgitated Obamacare's "free" lunch... ;)

Always look to the Unions when a new increase is being called

for.

Why?

Why would unions who's members make multiples of the minimum wage bother to fight for it?

Because their wages are indexed permanently to it.

If minimum wage goes up - SO DO THEIR WAGES.

That means not only is that hamburger at McCrap's going to be more expensive, but so will your Prius.

Please correct your title.

They are not raising it BY $10, but TO $10.

There is a HUGE difference, in this case $8 or 80% of what you alleged, or looked at another way, they are going to increase it 25% over what they have now - $8, but according to your title, they will increase it 125% to $18.

The article clearly states they will raise it from $8 to $10, that is only a $2 increase, thus the title should say either "to $10" or "by $2."

Now that is out of the way...

Yes, this is absurd. But the continuous "need" to raise the minimum wage (which shouldn't exist at all) to me merely exposes that inflation is real and is not going away - dispite what the FED and the Treasury Department claim to the contrary. Of course, raising the minimum wage will only accomplish two things - more unemployment for entry level workers, and higher prices for all, but hitting those on the low end of the scale (those minimum wage earners) and those on fixed incomes the hardest.

i will try if i can....i

i will try if i can....i think after awhile you can't edit it though..or can you?

Who will be left to pay it?

Businesses and Companies are scattering from Ca like cockroaches when a light is turned on. I talked to a Ryder moving truck rentals dispatcher the other night and she said they cannot get enough trucks to handle the exodus from Ca.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.
