Wiki style events page on the DPSubmitted by Séamusín on Thu, 09/19/2013 - 22:17
I come to the Daily Paul for, as close to one stop shopping as I can get.
I tried posting this link in the mod suggestion box. To be honest that's where this post probably belongs. Even still, I firmly believe in the potential power of this idea, and I would like to have DPer's weigh in on it. Maybe Maybe if enough people weigh in, Jon and the boys might be willing to put forth the effort.
When The Bernank announced that he would be continue to stimulate, I immediately turned on the Peter Schiff sow to hear some commentary. To my pleasant surprise I discovered Tom Woods was covering the time slot. He is always very entertaining and insightful.
As he was going through the show he mentioned that he would be speaking at an event this Saturday, less than an hour from my dwelling. I was shocked and thoroughly upset(had other plans). I realized that I am totally out of the loop in regards to what event are happening, nation wide and state wide.
An open source events page that's sortable by state, that the DP community will maintain. Included in the entry should be Event Name, Speakers, Topics, Address, Phone number, Cost, and a description of the event. The link for the events page could be in the forum header, and members could sign up to receive updates of new events happening in their area.
An example of this can be found on a completely unrelated website: thesession.org
Examples of events could be rally's, speech's, meetup's, festivals, seminars, DIY events, homesteading, and the beauty would be all open source, completely maintained by the community.
I was content to let this comment be buried in the suggestion box without an opportunity for my fellow DPer's to get a chance to have their say. The thread about LPAC's meeting and comments regarding its lack of advertising was the straw that broke the camels back as it were.
