Paul vs. Huckabee, homeless people

A thought came to me today as I was driving past a homeless person. Who between Ron Paul, and Mike Huckabee has a more compassionate plan for homeless?

Lets take a look. If Ron Paul is elected, he wants to get rid of the income tax and abolish the IRS. At the very least, the system will remain the same. I don't think homeless people who are asking for money will be forced to pay taxes, seeing how they get very little money to begin with.

Now how about Huckabee? He wants the fair tax. This fair tax will make EVERYONE pay taxes, drug dealers, prostitutes (he likes to point these two out). But how about homeless people who are barely surviving? They too will now be paying 23% tax on everything they buy. So that $5 you give a homeless person, will now be taxed 23%. Don't homeless people need shoes, coats, blankets, sleeping bags?

I don't know about you, but a "fair" tax that's going to hit even the homeless people and make it much harder for them to purchase the bare neccessitives that they need to stay alive, does not seem so fair to me.

I'm someone who will give a few dollars, or whatever change I have in my pocket to a homeless person. It doesn't bother me that they don't pay taxes, never has, never will. In fact, I don't ever want to see someone who is in such need having to pay taxes, especially taxes like the "fair" tax that is going to force them to pay and take their $1 and turn it into 77 cents. That will hit them hard.

One of the REAL pitfalls of Huckabee's tax

is that it is a ENORMOUS incentive for crime and the black market. Its opens the door for people to avoid taxes by buying things directly from individuals. Small crime rings send a few individuals to get jobs in a warehouse, those individuals find a way to get large quantities of goods out of the warehouse, it is then sold on the street at a large "tax free" discount.

every system has its loopholes

the bottom line, I think, is that people actually develop "true compassion first" since that compassion would spillover into whatever system there was.

since our politics "divide and conquer us economically," "true compassion" has remained our vision for heaven.

bums don't wanna pay taxes on there change they panhandle

Lovely...

I soooo look forward to filing taxes EVERY month ... NOT

Of course, a National ID will be touted as THE way to pay taxes and the card will of course be required to make purchases too.

I think companies that print the forms, develop software on government contracts, etc. have their fingers crossed in support of Hucklebee.

Huckabee

has stated that his plan would call for a "Prebate" to poorer people. A homeless person with no income would file monthly tax returns and receive a rebate. So in effect Huckabee's plan is a socialist plan as this "Prebate" is basically a welfare check without even having to apply for welfare.

With no address or legal

With no address or legal place of residence????? Don't think so, they'll just have to pay---sucks rocks.

ummm, NOT

the natural world, by design, is socialistic since the water, energy resources, land, air, etc... are shared selfishly with everybody. it's only through the greediness of people that scarcity is created.
