Bolivian President to Sue US Govt for Crimes Against Humanity

Bolivian President Evo Morales will file a lawsuit against the US government for crimes against humanity. He has decried the US for its intimidation tactics and fear-mongering after the Venezuelan presidential jet was blocked from entering US airspace.

“I would like to announce that we are preparing a lawsuit against Barack Obama to condemn him for crimes against humanity,” said President Morales at a press conference in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz. He branded the US president as a “criminal” who violates international law.

In solidarity with Venezuela, Bolivia will begin preparing a lawsuit against the US head of state to be taken to the international court. Furthermore, Morales has called an emergency meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) to discuss what has been condemned by Venezuela as “an act of intimidation by North American imperialism.”

U.S. Air Space?

As in SOVEREIGN U.S. Air Space?

He's suing because the U.S. wouldn't allow Venezuela to fly through sovereign air space? And he's calling it a crime against humanity? Was there some life or death emergency going on at the time that we don't know about? They're upset because Obama wouldn't let them cut through his frigging yard??

I thought crimes against humanity involved atrocities resulting in death or degradation. Oh, I don't know, like the sanctions on Iraq that cause the death of 500k kids. Or the drone strikes. Or GMO's. Or Guantanamo. Or arming al-Qaeda in Syria.

This is a kick in the shin on a schoolyard.

Either Obama is a kindergarten level politician

or there are people above him who want to destroy America thru utterly stupid diplomacy. Obama could have let the plane land then use his political influence to have the plane searched. Instead, he makes a bush league error by denying a landing and starts a round of south American unifying hatred towards the USA. This wreaks of elites who want to see the USA destroyed so they can rebuild it in a more authoritarian model.

What?

That fucker can't sue anyone.
That's just socialist populism, Evo Morales is a loser trying to blame all his failures on the big guy.

Awesome.

I had respect for Evo before, but now I like him even more. I know he's a socialist and I don't agree with that philosophy, but he has done good things in his country and for his people.

He's one of the good guys.

Bravo!

the crime against humanity is the plane being grounded ?

i'd say it's the NSA spying...

Can't someone sue for something better than airspace issues?

I mean, come on, there are soooo many other crimes!

yes, but not as easily proven--

especially when you are up against a dishonest bully with a lot of friends and a lot of power and money--theoretically, anyway--

Little Bolivia would be a nice dessert for a ravenous U.S.--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

I sure hope

Bolivia includes the REAL crimes: torture, spying, murder (drone strikes), and wars against international law. US Govt is getting desperate, which makes them more dangerous than ever!!
