True Enough, However A law Is A Law Is A Law..

Some laws are immoral and a violation of our constitutional rights, such as gun control laws.

Some laws are sensible, others are not. I believe wearing a seat belt is sensible but I still say let each individual decide as to whether they want to wear one or not..

I too went years without having to wear a seat belt, and still don't like putting one on, however, I do believe having to wear one prevents many from being thrown out of a windshield, for example, after having been involved in an accident with another vehicle..

safety is an illusion, perpetuated by those who profit from it

People who carry no insurance, wear no seat belts, drive safer. Those who don't have health insurance eat healthier and exercise more. Freedom means self responsibility, not dependecy.

I have to say that it always boggled me too

how many people are viewing an idea of liberty as specifically a liberty to be an idiot in never learning or following their conscience because they want to be free not to and excersize it exactly the wrong way

All I stated was that it

All I stated was that it should be a personal choice to wear a seat belt or not. It is not the job of any government official to dictate to me what I may or may not do with my own body if I'm not violating anther person's rights or property. Freedom is about being responsible for yourself or facing the coincidences. I have my seat belt fastened before I take the car out of park and I did even before it was the "law". Wearing a helmet is not required in Arkansas but before I take off on the Harley I put one on because I know it's the best thing for my safety.

It is easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled. – Mark Twain
