A woman on the internet with no apparent connection to trucking is encouraging independent and corporate truck drivers to stop working this October 11-13th, comprising Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The organizer of the event encourages truckers not to worry about their jobs or the police:

"... The last time this was planned in 2007, they scared off all the truckers in Washington DC by threatening fines for all those drivers who came to DC with no load. We will say FUCK THEM. They will not be able to cite every single empty truck in the USA, in every city...
& don't worry about your corporate master threatening you with being fired --- they cannot fire you for getting stuck in traffic. Throw your hands in the air & say 'oh well--- I got stuck in a traffic jam -what am I supposed to do?'."

The woman behind the idea, Zeeda Andrews, has gotten quite a bit of attention for her proposed 3-day strike. A closer examination reveals that Andrews exhibits an extreme anti-Muslim and Islamaphobic ideology. On her facebook page, Andrews contends "we are slaves to a bunch of Saudis" and she recently posted a photo on facebook which read "I want all my facebook friends to say FUCK ALLAH."

Glenn Beck's The Blaze reported on the event and quoted one of the group's postings which called to "remove all Muslims in our government that do not uphold the Constitution." Note that she did not mention the Zionists or Dual-citizen Israelis who control the entirety of Washington and our foreign policy.

Sorry, but this whole thing stinks of some sort of silly psyop. [Article continues here.

[Note: A previous version of this article contained an error regarding a 'Jewish holiday' due to a mistake in the dates on a holiday calendar which listed October 9-15th.]

The article has been updated

The article has been updated with a correction due to an error on a Jewish website holiday calendar. This doesn't change the fact that this is an absurd and uncouth effort. "F--- the police"? Really? This is supposed to be taken seriously by industry?

This so called strike is not supported by drivers, owner operators, legitimate organizations, or those in industry. Period. It is a joke. and if a driver actually purposely blocked traffic and shut down a city they would likely go to prison for many years.

Martin Hill can't read a calendar

There is no Jewish holiday from October 11-13, 2013. The Jewish calendar is a lunar-solar calendar. Jewish holidays coincide with phases of the moon, sort of like Easter in the Christian calendar, which falls on a different solar calendar date every year. The first commandment given to the Jews after they were released from bondage in Egypt was to form a calendar. If you've chosen to hate Jews, try to at least know your enemy.

This counterattack smells

like a psyop attack from Islamo forces who don't like Jews or Christians.

I'm with "anothernobody" with this piece

This is an out right hit piece to discourage the strike. I'm here to tell you right now a lot of truckers are prejudice, but in no way would they plan a damned thing on a Jewish religious day ever. Not on purpose. This is BS. Trust me, I would know.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

I haven't seen any evidence

I haven't seen any evidence that 'truckers' planned this event in the 1st place.

Actually, you are right

But it appears from those I talk to all day long they are up for it no matter the origin.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

This had a funny smell to some of us from the get-go

1. Most of us have heard about trucker strikes for years and we point out the many reasons why this just won't happen.

2. However it seemed the "organizers" were unaware of this history.

3. The proposal went down without any of the usual safeguards we'd build in, measures to protect public safety while we operate. Besides, many, if not most truckers take great pride in preserving the flow of goods and serivces that allows our nation to function (to the extent it does). And you just won't find truckers blocking off EMS, FD and other emergency services from getting where they are needed.

4. We therefore deduced this was not our leadership, this is EXTERNAL TO "US".

5. There is basically 0 buzz about this on the roads. The "organizers" don't seem to have any tap into the trucker community.

6. The language was not professional. When have you ever seen an official communique from one of us that's so coarse and hostile? That also points to an external entity.

In summary, this joke has gone on long enough. I'd say let's put this baby to bed but I see no reason why we should have to change it's diapers first.

Just let it sink like a stone. Our names aren't on this line. Thank God.

There is nothing strange about having a bar of soap in your right pocket, it's just what's happening.

very well said, thanks

very well said, thanks

Something stinks about this story.

I don't know of any Jewish holiday at that time. I know for sure there aren't any Scriptural Holy Days at that time.

Something smells.

take it up with chabad.org,

take it up with chabad.org, on their Jewish Holidays page, which notes UPCOMING JEWISH HOLIDAY Sukkot: "No work permitted on October 9 - 10. Work is permitted on October 12 - 15 with certain restrictions.."

http://www.chabad.org/holidays/default_cdo/year/2013/jewish/...

NO. I'm telling YOU.

You are the one who posted it here. Your link plainly says "Sukkot - September 18 - 25, 2013"

What you have referenced: "No work permitted on October 9 - 10. Work is permitted on October 12 - 15 with certain restrictions.." has nothing to do with any Jewish holiday.

Their is no "Jewish" holiday in October 2013. Sukkot aka Feast of Booths aka Tabernacles is going on right now in September. Although different groups may keep this feast a few days later they are all keeping it withing the same biblical month which this year coincides with September.

I am telling you that the article is false in this respect. Therefore it is suspect and smells afoul.

Then why does the link for

Then why does the link for Sukkot say "No work permitted on October 9 - 10. Work is permitted on October 12 - 15 with certain restrictions.." directly under Sukkot? If Sukkot is Sept 18-25, why does it have the data for mid October right in the middle of it?

Do you know the answer?

Wrong Year?

Those dates correspond to 2014.

Click the tab for 2013 NEXT TO "Upcoming".

**FYI: Header STAYS "Jewish Holidays for 2013" even when dates below that reflect different year.

Very Confusing! Many people probably err and not notice.

So what are they protesting?

Free includes debt-free!

I'm not even sure there is a

I'm not even sure there is a "they." it appears to be an idea launched by one woman who it doesn't even appear to be a trucker. No legitimate groups or organizations have any part of it. the group's facebook page outlines a laundry list of grievances, many valid, yet have no direct connection to trucking. In addition, the woman gives some very stupid 'advice,' such as:

"If you are a corporate trucker, silently participate & don't worry about your corporate master threatening you with being fired --- they cannot fire you for getting stuck in traffic. Throw your hands in the air & say 'oh well--- I got stuck in a traffic jam -what am I supposed to do?'"

That is absurd. If a trucker was in a place he should not be with no load in the area, he will be charge for the fuel and fired.

And her remarks about police:

"... The last time this was planned in 2007, they scared off all the truckers in Washington DC by threatening fines for all those drivers who came to DC with no load. We will say FUCK THEM. They will not be able to cite every single empty truck in the USA, in every city. If you are concerned about any fines going to DC, plan to take your truck to another metro area. DO NOT BE AFRAID. Stand courageously for your country --"

Now many truckers owe payments on rigs.

They have to worry about the repo man.

It's not like their aren't enough unemployed truckers to take jobs loss for breach of contract.

Free includes debt-free!

yes and also, the turnover

yes and also, the turnover rate in the trucking industry is over 100%. it's certainly not a job for everyone. I'm not against the concept of general strikes, but this particular one, in my opinion, is a circus.
