An Atheist's Prayer

The world is your playground
Just watch your health bar
Get your money up!
No one is watching

Think those mean thoughts
Your mind is your castle
A safe no one can crack

You only live once
Then you die, they say
Everything you see is yours
No one will ever see it again
as you saw, through your eyes
Or live your experience, as you lived

You're the King
Master of creation
The Alpha and Omega
The height of power
Nothing is greater

Everything before you
And after you is Nothing
Nothing is out of reach
If you master yourself

What makes you happy?
What gives you pleasure?
What makes you delight in your power?
What is you heart's desire?

Raise it up
Make it your idol
Chase it, hunt it
Run before it
Kneel before it
Make it your God

People are things
Tools for your work
Pawns on your chessboard
Love them or hate them
But make them move
Make them dance!

A thousand Gods beckon to you
They want your vote
Pick your God

O Holy Status!
Fall before it
Be better than your neighbor
You can, if you're able
You're Cain, if you're Abel
The fruit of one seed

Hold up your Pride!
Let the sun hit it at the perfect angle
sending forth a thousand streaks of dazzling perfection

Let all men be your stepping stone
You're the apex of the pyramid, the keystone
If things fit, they fit for you alone
To uphold your greatness

Nurture your hatreds
They are your joys
Any reason is good
They are your toys
Play with them, cherish them

O, Holy Ideology
Make the world in your image
Humanity is clay
Stone for your chisel
To be shaped by your will
Let the hammer fall

It's a race to leave the greatest mark
The deepest fissure
The heaviest blow
The widest gash in Man
So you'll be forgotten last

Raise up the hammer!
little God
All Gods have been pulled down
So you're God, now

Or else, shrink back
Stay warm, stay hidden
Comfortable in God's shadow
Believing not
But being good, and safe

Don't offend
Move aside for evil and good alike
It matters not which
Don't discriminate
Don't love, Don't hate

But watch your health bar
And your money

No one is watching
And it will be over soon, little lamb
It is a playground
of little gods and little lambs

It's neither... it's really a

It's neither... it's really a prayer from a doubtful atheist who sees the pitfalls of atheism and is kind of shaky on his legs. One leg firmly in Nietzsche and the other dipping in the waters of the faith of Christ. Not sure which way I'll fall. If you can't see it that way, so be it.

Wrong in so many ways....

1. There is no such thing as "doubtful atheist". An atheist is one that does not have a god-belief, that is all. If an atheist was "doubtful", it means they have god-belief or very close to it.
2. There is no such thing as the "pitfalls" of atheism. It is not a world-view, not a philosophy, it doesn't teach anything, it doesn't require certain behaviors, etc... You are clearly not even an agnostic. During my deconversion from religion, there were no "negatives" to consider at all. I was merely interested in truth.
2. Nietzsche has nothing to with atheism. I've never read anything by him. Nor have most atheists I've ever met. Also, an atheist would never accept the idea of "faith", especially not faith in a literary myth.
3. An atheist would never say something like "not sure which way I'll fall". That would mean you don't have a choice and cannot use reason to reach a conclusion.

If you are going to claim to "be" something, or to understand something to the point of writing a poem, you should do more research so you understand what it actually is. Just sayin.... I do appreciate poetry however. Not bad at all.

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

To paraphrase the late WIll

To paraphrase the late WIll Smith, you just don't understand.

Of course...

First, sorry for the delay, been offline for a while.

But, it is obvious that I don't "understand", because it is nonsense. I get that it is artistic expression and all, but you are claiming to start from a certain perspective - which is flawed from the start. And then, you post it on a political website where you know there are atheists that are members for what purpose?

If you can address my points, then perhaps I could "understand".

It's not the prayer of an atheist, anyone who respects the individual knows this, it's the prayer of a person with their own opinions and thoughts. Atheism is a rejection of a narrative, you cannot define a person's opinions by that.

No train to Stockholm.

any prayer is the prayer of a person with their own opinions or thoughts. what else could it be? it doesn't say an atheist prayer, it says an atheist's prayer. anyone who respects the individual would respect that. you seem frantic in having your faith challenged by some mere lines. chill out bud.

what about this prayer?
