The 'Affordable Care Act' is my line in the sand

-It is unethical to coerce participation

-It is unprincipled to presume that each individual will respond to limited tiers of medical treatment

-It is irrational to cover no pre-existing condition without the concept of insuring risk

-I can not afford mandated payments

-I do not wish to participate in a system which unethically taxes others to subsidize operations

-I will defend the freedom of my agency until death

You would only draw your line in the sand...

Just this side of obamacare?

patriot act?
federal reserve act?
income tax?
the draft?
ndaa 2012?

None of these did it for you.

But obamacare did?

While I do not agree with any of the cited decrees, none (except taxation) directly come to my door and threaten violating my agency--ACA however does

The lines are permanent. It is up to us to recognize the lines.

I spent probably over $60,000 for medical insurance

since college and maybe 5 times in my life have gone to a doctor for anything. With my $5,000 deductible I simply paid for each probably less than $100 visit. What a waste as that could have been a down payment on a house, invested during profitable times or at least been in a medical savings account which I was never able to open. Just pissed away all that money for nothing and finally just stopped the program and am now uninsured. All the more reason to take good care of myself and eat well and stay fit. This country and the quagmire of bureaucracy that it has become is just plain pathetic. Obama has no idea the principles the country he is leading were founded upon.

Exactly

I see insurance as speculation and to be coerced into a form of gambling is unprincipled at best.

Good wishes to you in any case

This should be a violation of the 13th amendment, maybe the South ought to invade the North this time to free the slaves.

Can't be too long before that age old demonic slave exchange reopens for business with Americans represented not by a Republic, but by a healthcare certificate valuing their health as a commodity given value by insurance companies and identified by Social Security Numbers to certify ownership in derivative paper for international bankers.

Bankers can then trade us like cattle again, maybe soon we will be branded with a chip and brought into the cities by Agenda 21.

The scarcity mentality has permeated the psychology of the working class it is inevitable that the slave trade will pump and dump the ecological health of Americans until we all assemble for the economic health of our titleholders

wow

"This should be a violation of the 13th amendment, maybe the South ought to invade the North this time to free the slaves."

Absolutely the best single observation that I've read in days.

My coverage by the VA is socialist. Mittbama's plan is fascist to the core, as is the entire Bu'ushist cabal.

I posted this in a different

I posted this in a different thread but:

Age: 25
Smoke: NO

HDHP Plan, $5,000 deductible.

Premiums:
Before ACA: $65 a month
After ACA: $147.26 a month.

I want to try to call Obama during one of his "fireside chat" or whatever the fuck you call it webcasts and ask him about this...

Luckily if I buy 'market' coverage now I can grandfather it until 12/31/2014 and fight to get this shit repealed in the meantime.

One big upvote from me

The entire medical industry is a fraud. The only thing doctors seem to be good at is treating trauma. As a general rule, they can only treat symptoms using drugs. They have never been able to prevent, treat or cure any disease. They know NOTHING about health. There is NOTHING the government could ever do that would make me comply with Obamacare... Nothing! Even if it were totally free for me, I would not participate.

“Disobedience is the true foundation of liberty. The obedient must be slaves.”― Henry David Thoreau

Well said.

I am with you 100% on that.

Don't be surprised when it gets worse though. They are already laying the ground work for Mandated Healthcare itself. Forced medical checkups and treatment. Many of your rights are already being tied to your medical evaluations/treatments such as gun ownership and mental health or your ability to raise your children as you see fit or your ability to get or keep a job.

The power to mandate is the death of freedom.

Obamacare is the BIGGEST

Obamacare is the BIGGEST power grab ever and is not about your health. The govt. will be able to dictate what you can and cannot do for your body and your children's. The "system" is already invasive enough telling doctors what they can and cannot prescribe. If it is such a great thing - people will purchase it on their own without being forced. What will it take for us to finally stand up? Just because this "law" was passed in the dark of the night does not mean we have to participate. On principle alone, we should all say NO on our tax return (even if you have insurance). We the people need to defy this. Lets break this false hold Congress has on us.

If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so. Jefferson

Then don't forget to adjust your withholding amount

If you want to say no on your tax return by not paying the penalty then you need to be sure that your withholding is less than what the IRS thinks you owe. Otherwise they will presumably just keep the penalty amount out of your refund.

I'm not sure if it's going to be possible to "say no" if you have compliant insurance. If you have it through work it's going to show up on your W-2. I guess you could could fill out the form as if you didn't have the insurance, then not pay the penalty you don't really owe.

Yes - that what I hope

Yes - thanks for clarifying - that is what I hope millions will do that have insurance. Let the people decide just and correct laws.

"Discriminating Against Those With Pre-Existing Conditions"

Whoever came up with that nonsense really made the thing fly. Honest actuarial work suddenly became tantamount to racial discrimination.

The solution

found in the ACA is to force insurance companies to charge everyone higher rates to compensate. This has been openly discussed as a way to "spread the costs" and is why younger folks are specifically marketed to, being told the ACA is a good thing.

Without enough young and healthy people paying in, the entire endeavor collapses as social security is presently doing.

The Pre-ex thing is so

The Pre-ex thing is so retarded and is the reason they even came up with the mandate.

"Discriminating Against Those With Pre-Existing Conditions"

This is the same logic as me being able to drive without car insurance and waiting until I slam my vehicle into a light pole and then call Progressive while bleeding on the side of the road and asking for a quote and expecting them to cover the crash.

Me too.

I am with you. Millions of Americans need to become familiar with a simple phrase. "I will not comply".

They can't feed all of us to the lions.

Good to hear
