WASHINGTON — Republicans rallied around a budget plan Saturday to keep the government open but delay the new health care law for a year, storming toward a showdown with Democrats that looked increasingly likely to shut down the government when the current fiscal year ends Monday night.

Republicans in the House of Representatives showed unusual unity Saturday in endorsing the plan, then took it to the full House for expected approval. Their proposal would keep the government funded through Dec. 15, delay the health care law, permanently repeal a 2.3 percent medical device tax that helps fund the health care plan and assure military personnel would be paid if the government shuts down.

The Senate is not scheduled to return to session until Monday afternoon, 10 hours before the fiscal year ends. Democrats who control the Senate said they wouldn’t negotiate or consider the House proposal, leaving no apparent path to compromise on either side in the waning hours before money runs out for many parts of the government not on automatic spending such as Social Security or considered essential such as the military.

The Bus will keep on moving without them

screw them, I say.

Shut it down!

It's broke and broken, and in dire need of a complete overhaul and restoration.

G o l d

It's all phony theater unless sound money is involved.

Until they talk about an open and transparent audit of fort knox and the fed gold - it's just theater.
Fighting over how many zeros to add to a check with a empty account (no gold) is pointless.

They are just fighting over the payment amount of make-believe money.
This is just theater to delay saying: "We have no gold. You should start learning Mandarin"

Unless the Republicans are talking about "gee-ohh-el-dee", they are part of the charade to delay saying they spent it all.

We all know the debt number is astronomical. What matters is where/how much gold and silver we have left.

Delaying the lesson of bad government

Have the Republicans been duped again by their leadership? Why would they allow the Democrat's another year before the public is exposed to a disaster that has the possibility of destroying the Democratic Party? Bring it on and let the country experience the most devastating progressive government program in our history.

Obamacare is the defining program of everything bad about government interference in the market. Why is Bo(eh)ner so intent on its delay?
A years delay is giving the Democrats a vacation from destruction. Get it on and bring on Obamacare.

It only takes one to KEEP AMERICANS FREE. Know your duties & rights as a juror. Stop the unconstitutional conviction of innocents in federal custody. The Fully Informed Jury CALL 1-800-TEL-JURY www.fija.org IMMEDIATELY if not sooner. It's that important.

The Republicans talk a good game as far as being

fiscal conservatives, but when placed in a position to DO something about it, they fold. W could have fundamentally changed the entitlements, he had the house, and the senate under republican control for the first time in a half century. The republicans didn't cut any entitlements, they added to them.

The reason they don't want to wait the year is because once the law is implemented, they can't politically take it back. No entitlement has ever been withdrawn, after its been voted in. I predict by 2020 or 2024 the republicans will be running on a platform to "save the ACA" and the democrats will be campaigning that the republicans want to take away your government subsidized insurance.

could help make a louder sound about this issue by forming protests nationally especially at Capitol Hill on Monday. I wonder if it might help others understand what the mainstream left media is not saying by local news coverage on rallies across America. I just wish the real story could be told by the people who understand the dangers of the ACA concerning our personal liberty and what it will do to the private market. I remember the Gun Appreciation Day rallies all across America, it seemed in my opinion to help, also it seems this issue could be just as popular involving big turn outs. I just wish everyone could UNITE and be heard. Even if it doesn't change anything, at least we tried, and at least low information voters might have a chance at understanding our opposition to this tyrannical legislation. The shot heard 'Round the World should be millions of Americans closing their businesses down to protest against tyranny disguised as affordable care. There are so many who don't want this, it just seems like an opportunity. However, you guys are amazing with all of your insight here. Thoughts?

James Madison: "...I cannot comprehend that the (Federal Legislative) "power of legislating" over a "SMALL DISTRICT", which "CANNOT EXCEED" "TEN MILES SQUARE" (Washington, DC), and "MAY NOT BE MORE" THAN "ONE MILE", will involve the dangers which he (Patrick Henry) apprehends.

If there be any knowledge in my mind of the nature of man, I should think it would be the "last thing that would enter into the mind of any man" to grant "exclusive advantages", in a "VERY CIRCUMSCRIBED" DISTRICT, to the prejudice of the community at large. ..."

There is the problem;

They have exceeded their bounds.

Shut down all federal bureaucracies and effects outside the 10 MILES SQUARE of Washington, DC; and then "KEEP them Shut Down".

The County...The Guy that leans on the 24 dollar shovel.

...Which is a whole lot better than the federal government that spends millions on environmental studies, buys 100 - $2,000,000 dollar shovels; Hires 10 corporations, 5 Unions, to oversee 5 basic wage laborers and 5 volunteers to use the 100 shovels (yes that's 10 shovels each) to fill the one pot hole;

Then another million dollar study, a study group, and then publish both a environmental draft, organize a public discussion about that pothole and future potholes, and then a final Environmental impact study on potholes to have future studies made;

This is so to insure pothole compliance by states and counties through imposing and instituting a states pothole mandate, before the states can get a portion of their extracted federal taxes back for similar highway repair.

Your question was very valid.

you forgot the funds for a study, btw : "the study on the psychological and sociological impact of filling potholes for people who do, as opposed to those who don't, and instead are paid to study the former".

How could I have missed that?... :)

They keep saying they're "shutting down the government"

But when they have a "government shutdown" they DON'T shut it down!

They don't fire the bureaucrats. They might hold back some of their pay - but they make it up afterward. They have some of them come in and give back pay to the others later, after they "restart". They still arrest people. They still run courts. They still bust people for breaking their laws and regulations when the "crime" occurs during the so-called "shutdown". They still tax us on any work we do during the "shutdown", any money we make, and the money they CLAIM we made when the currency inflates between the time we buy and then sell something. And on, and on, and on.

No matter how much we WISH they'd actually SHUT IT DOWN AND GO AWAY, leaving us to take care of our own problems and run our own lives, they never do.

Promise them anything but give them tyranny. It's right in character. It's just like the way they break ALL their promises, whether it's campaign, effects of new laws, government programs, ...

Will anyone notice?

Won't effect my life one bit, wouldn't even notice the difference if they were open or closed for business.

Hey, maybe if they shutdown there will be no one to collect my 4th qtr taxes... ?? That doesn't sound so bad.

The Tea Partiers hate

The Tea Partiers hate America. They are willing to hold the government hostage like a perverted kidnapper. How old is that girl the TP is holding hostage? I bet she's underage, wow, you sickos! All because you're racist and like terrorists. Obama is trying to save America and you're cutting up his credit card and kidnapping underage minority girls. They also hate gays because they won't kidnap nice looking young boys and want to regulate a woman's body.

Is that the gist of it, or do I really need to tune in?

Oh man do I hope these guys have the balls to stick to their guns.

I think that's about the gist of it on MSNBC

The diametric opposite on Fox News.

Divide and conquer - play it again.

I have cable again - for the singular reason to watch the Patriots - and there is no way I'm tuning into that political theater crap. Pure poison.

Shut it Down! Send them to their County's Unemployment Line.

Not too Long ago, the federal government told loggers and mill workers in Oregon to go to the Unemployment Line, when they lied about a stupid "spotted owl".

They cared more about that stupid spotted owl than the livelihoods and families of people that made basic wages to a few dollars more than basic wage.

When they are "out in the REAL WORLD", maybe they will realize that all that MANDATED "ZONING" Laws and Business Regulations that keep people from actually starting a business in their own homes and completing in a free market, isn't such a good idea.

And if you hire a few of them back "5 or 6 years from now" AFTER WE PAY OFF THE NATIONAL DEBT THEY CREATED;

MAKE SURE their salaries are LIMITED to NO MORE THAN the AVERAGE - NON UNION - NON CORPORATE - NON PROFESSIONAL salaries of those in the entire counties they will work in, including those making no money in the factor. And Then Salaries only at the "Consent and Vote" of the Local County Citizens.

The Spotted Owl was a scapegoat

I should know. I was there.

She took the blame, and never complained about it. The real issue was they wanted to save the forest from utter destruction.

And you know what? Look at China, and see how they save nothing. Everything is cut, paved, demolished, destroyed, forgotten in the headlong rush to 'capitalism.' They are so blind.

I really want to thank our friend the spotted out for taking one for the team and making sure we didn't end up with a completely denuded and paved over Pacific Northwest.

He's the man.

Replanting had already begun By Timber Companies.

I live in the Southern Cascades and have since 1964.

More Trees Now than 100 years ago:

15 years of removing logging was not necessary;

Timber Companies were already replanting, and do so because it is good business to replant;

It was the federal government that had spent millions in "regulating", but close to nothing in replanting; stating it was not "natural";

When fires went through a forest, the federal government would not replant; There is an area south of Grants Pass that still isn't replanted after a fire back in 1976.

Further, Forests not logged create heavy undergrowth that increases the chance of catastrophic forest fires as was evidence in the Hull fire (Evans Creek) 1980's; And this year in the numerous fires west of Grants Pass this summer (and many others across the west). And you can be sure there is no "old growth in those areas or stupid spotted owls or deer, or "anything" for MILES!

And the "stupid idiots" (there is just no other definition) won't even allow roads in these forests so that the next fire can be stopped.

MOON SCAPE 2 - Coming Soon.

Environmentalists simply have their own agenda to remove people from forests and move them into cities as part of that agenda.

Just look at their maps regarding plans for the expansion of "National Monuments";

The federal government had no authority and has no authority. Lands in the states were to be distributed to private ownership and until then under management of the states when the lands became a state;

Not held by the federal government to enlarge dependent bureaucracies and use that to promote - enforce "mandated" regulations upon the states to follow in suit with invasive unconstitutional regulations on and against private property.

It all has to do with CONTROL and expansion of GOVERNMENT UNIONS and Dependent Government Bureaucracies.

Ever hear of the CARA Bill? The bill that would give the exclusive right for a oil company to drill in Alaska for 1.2 trillion; That money would have gone to condemning private property in the lower 48 states and placed into National Monuments;

A similar attempt was made with the "Get Out and Go Act"

Why do Corporations want more land in Government Control?

Because they (Large Collectives) are the only ones that can afford to jump through the Environmental Hoops and pay the high cost government contracts on government lands; (for Timber, Oil and Minerals)

i.e. Self Made "Trade Protectionism".

This Grants Large Corporations "Exclusive Privileges".

See: http://www.americanpatriotparty.cc/americanpatriotpartynewsl...

So where people sold "environmentalism" THINK they are protecting the forests, they are actually creating the conditions of the forests destruction, as well as empowering Corporations, Governments, Unions, Foreign Corporations and Foreign Governments;

All while taking away our rights and means to private property, freedom, free trade and liberty.
