Jesse Ventura/Howard Stern ticket to run in 2016

"Former Governor Jesse Ventura and radio personality Howard Stern are set for a sensational 2016 presidential run.

Ventura will fly to New York this Wednesday to appear on Stern’s Sirius XM show, during which Ventura will formally request that Stern join him on the ticket.

Ventura told the Alex Jones Show that he is deadly serious about running for the White House with Stern as his VP. Due to Ventura’s refusal to entertain the notion of taking money from special interests, Stern, whose radio show brings in around $100 million a year, will be in charge of fundraising.

Although Ventura had to quit his radio show when he ran for Governor of Minnesota in order to comply with FCC regulations, Stern will not have to quit his current show because satellite radio is not subject to the same rules as terrestrial radio."

One thing I think we could

One thing I think we could count on is that Stern probably has the potential to attract a large audience into the process, many who probably never cared much previously. Stern also would likely be able to get a serious amount of consideration regarding otherwise "commonsense" ideas that most politicians disregard. I also think he would have the "nerve" to point out some of the ridiculous things they do in DC, right in their faces. And many people will listen. I don't listen to his show, but I think a Ventura/Stern ticket would at least be an interesting addition to the mix and very educational for some as well.

...

Huuuuh? Howard Stern??? Jesse's losing it.

I would love to support Jesse Ventura but Howard Stern would never get my vote.

He's nothing more than a nasty-mouthed, low-class fool who sees women only as sex objects and has treated them that way for years.

That's they they shoved him off the main airwaves to obscurity.

C'mon Jesse - You can do a helluva lot better than that. Weird.

I'll hold out hope that this is a joke because I like Ventura and would vote for him.

Far better than our last choices!

(After Rand jumped ship, that is). Edit: I see this has been down-voted twice without comment. And the better choices offered were?

If RAND is NOT the GOP nominee

I WOULD vote for Ventura/Stern.

Credibility incarnate

.

Be brave, be brave, the Myan pilot needs no aeroplane.

This is just silly...

Jesse Ventura is definitely a "PAY-triot" but he does have some redeeming qualities and I love how he would just hand Hannity's ass to him on a silver platter when he would go on Fox.

Ventura/Stearn though? I don't think so, all that does is belittle the movement and is probably just a publicity stunt.

And as a poster below me said, Jesse wants the "grassroots" to raise millions, get him on the ballots in ALL 50 STATES, and THEN, THEN he would strongly consider it...like wtf?

It takes two to tango Jesse...

It's encouraging to see some Ventura sceptics on here.

Nearly all the posters on this thread have pointed out many problems with Jesse. I will add that wrapped up in his inconsistancies, I have heard him say that he would not join any party and that he would only run if grassroots groups paid all the money and did all the leg work to get him on all 50 ballots.

Jesse and Howard are very similar in their pathetic attempts to maintain their celebrity by saying or doing something shocking on a regular schedule.

If this succeeds as the Idiocracy Prophecy, I hope they get Luke Wilson on board before we have a complete crop failure due to irrigating with Gatorade.

Ventura's like a fairly smart

Ventura's like a fairly smart friend who happens to be drunk. Permanently.

Demeaning

I always thought Jesse Ventura was half a sandwich short of a full picnic, this settles it. As for Howard Stern, now there's an intellectual giant! A ticket such as this is demeaning to those who love liberty and have fought so hard to restore it and protect it. It is demeaning and dumbs down even further the political dialogue in this country, just when it seemed that wouldn't be possible. Once in a generation a man like Ron Paul comes along who gains celebrity status, due to the popularity of his message and his humility. But to elevate someone to a position of leadership because of their celebrity status is foolish to say the least. But then sadly most Americans have become intellectually lazy and seem attracted by shiny new objects.

RON PAUL is the GOLD STANDARD of politics, his value never changes; it's tied to the CONSTITUTION!

i like jesse

and I support him and stern over hitlery ANY day. That goes without any hesitation or doubt. He is a good man.

but unfortunately the bible belt will reject his atheism. Not saying that is right. I am just saying what we all know will happen.

His best bet is to appeal to liberals, but what compromises will have to be made? Jesse is good on a lot of issues. But he is a bit of a statist, as he still believes government should have a role in things such as healthcare. And that is most likely where he will compromise.

Also, in one of his books he actually says some good things about Krugmen.....yuck.

I like Jesse

but if this is any thing other than a publicity stunt than Ventura has gone full retard.

That clip should end this conversation..

Howard Stern is a complete tool and would be

an utter credibility-killer for Ventura. This isn't serious (LOL!--even if meant to be), and Ventura's mere entertainment of the idea does his reputation harm.

A run by these two would be farcical and a useless distraction. Besides, Ventura has said (video posted elsewhere on the DP) that he wants to start his own internet channel and broadcast into the US while living in another country (???). He could be a great leader / advocate for Liberty in this country (as he has been already) but instead desires to flee its borders? (Just when I think I understand this guy to some degree, I realize I don't. What am I missing?)

What would the Founders do?

Nah

Don't you think we have enough comedians and actors in Washington?

Bah...

1)Jesse has already said that if he or any candidate that represented a serious threat to the status quo were to run for president, and it looked like they were going to win, that they would be killed. So if he runs he will either not be running to win or he has a death wish.

2) I doubt Howard will accept his offer (and Jesse knows this). Even when Howard ran for governor of NY in 1994 (I think?), he only wanted to fix the potholes in NYC and maybe one other popular issue (can't remember), and then he was going to resign and hand it over to the lieutenant governor (his LP running mate) for the rest of his term, because he admitted he didn't know anything about running a state. Then he bailed -even though he was polling fairly well as I remember-- because he didn't want to complete the required financial disclosures. That was when he was merely wealthy. Now he is uber wealthy.

3) While Howard has a free mind when it comes to stuff that ultimately doesn't matter like celebrities and pop culture, his thinking is very inside the box when it comes to political issues. He is easily manipulated and not someone we can count on in these desperate times. And if he does get keen on someone like Ron Paul, he backs down. There was a clip from the '08 campaign (I think) when he was praising Ron Paul as the only one making any sense and such at one of the debates, but what came of it?

4) Jesse is really not that bright. He has come around on some issues, but only when someone else leads him there, like his son. How long did it take him to figure out 9/11 was BS? I knew it the first day.

5)If Howard accepts, then their purpose will be to derail Rand and give Hillary her turn in the WH.

I remember the clip of Howard praising Ron Paul but, I think during the primaries, Howard criticized him.

I have no idea where Ventura is going w/ this whole thing btw. Maybe he's thinking "I was in WWF and won a Senate seat so I can pull this off too." Who knows.

Exactly

Howard caved into either threats, or maybe the propaganda. Or he was just bought off (America's Got Talent judgeship). Doesn't matter. He won't follow through on any real changes even if America decided they were ready for a shock jock as VP, and a retired pro-wrestler for prez.

Stern is perfect

He will bring to the office the dignity that it deserves

The Wuss Ticket?

Rather than support The Good Doctor's Republican run, Jesse opined that he'd rather surf than add any personal cache to "The Two Party System."

While contemplating a run for Governor of New York, Howard Stern decided it was too inconvEEEEEnient to fill out the income/asset disclosure forms required by NY.

Fine, they live their own lives and I don't begrudge them making personal decisions, but they have already exposed themselves as summer soldiers. Let's not get our hopes up. Let Jesse surf, and let Howard harangue his guests; neither one is a viable candidate for office.

Let's hope this is a joke...

If not, then all the credibility James "Jesse Ventura" Janos has built up over the years will have evaporated instantaneously, and I for one would no longer be interested in following him.

Jesse is a pretty serious guy

Jesse is a pretty serious guy and he's really not a big fan of Rand. I doubt he's joking.

Strategy...

Financial decision regarding campaign fundraising to reach folks and inject issues into the 2016 Presidential Campaign, Howard would be the insurance they don't pull a JFK, or bowing out to another VP choice when it gets closer to the naming on the official ballot, Virginia is the hardest state to get ballot access.

Don't forget being able to be in the Presidential debates.
