ABC’s Jonathan Karl: ‘Chances of a Government Shutdown at 99.9%' (VIDEO)

ABC is reporting that it is now almost certain Congress and the White House will not reach an agreement to avoid a government shutdown.

On Sunday’s This Week, ABC’s chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl said, “I would now put the chances of a government shutdown at 99.9 percent” (video follows with transcript and commentary):

The economist Paul Krugman

was on one of the sunday shows and said he thought the chances that the shut down would become a default of the US debt was between 25%-30%. We can take solace in the fact Krugman is almost always wrong with his economic predictions, however it probably would be a good idea to take out some extra cash, just in case.

At least the interview addressed the fact

that it's Harry Reid that has been unwilling to compromise. I think they are desperate to get the ACA done with, because the are losing public support.

Should be some good speeches tomorrow.
