New here, a bit intimidated

Hi all, wanted to introduce myself (do people do that on this site?) I'm a new member of the DP though I've been following the site for quite some time. I'm a young mother and wife and I live in the last frontier of Wyoming! Like I said I have been reading the DP religiously for probably over a year so it's about time I supported Michael and the cause. I say I'm intimidated because I am new to the movement and I look up to you all, but I am happy to finally get in on the conversation. Cheers!

Except Love

What is interesting is that actually the only thing that Socrates says he knows something about is love. See Plato's Symposium 177d-e.

And for this reason, perhaps, the great 20th century French philosopher Emmanuel Levinas turns the meaning of philosophy as 'love of wisdom' to mean 'wisdom of love'. Is Socrates the wisest man of Greece because his wisdom is not the wisdom of knowledge, but the wisdom of love, or because he knows that he knows nothing? Or are they connected in a deep manner as Love/Eros is the intermediary being between good and bad, knowledge and ignorance?
