Oregon Republican Party Straw Poll - Dateline 10/6/07, Portland
Submitted by JohnGalt on Sat, 10/06/2007 - 21:50The Portland Oregon Republican Central Committee held their meeting today at the Portland World Trade Center. Highpointing the meeting was the Oregon Republican Party Straw Poll.
The Official Results:
Ron Paul 77 votes, 67%
Mitt Romney 18 votes, 16%
Fred Thompson 12 votes, 10%
Mike Huckabee 5 votes, 4%
Rudy Giuliani 2 votes, 2%
John McCain 1 vote, 1%
The event moderator seems a bit surprised and impressed by the "grassroots" showing of Ron Paul supporters from all over the state. The numbers speak for themselves.

Little or no coverage of Oregon Straw Poll
Very little news coverage of the Oregon Republican Central Committee Straw Poll Vote this past Saturday. Oregon Public Radio did a nice little bit on this past weekend's DEMOCRATIC straw poll here in Oregon but not one word about the Republican straw poll.

I think it's fair to say
I think it's fair to say based on these poll results that:
Rudy Giuliani + Mike Huckabee = 1/10th Ron Paul
Am I right?
G + H = ?
Real close! 1/10th would be .1, Rudy Giuliani + Mike Huckabee = .090909..., just a tad shy of 1/10 but shaving it's wiskers. Just don't want to give TOO much credit where it isn't due. ;-)
P.S. I, personally, video taped the ballot count. They allowed 3 Ron Paul supporters to witness the count. I really want to commend the Republican Central Committee folks, they were great and very respectful of us.

I had a gentleman go to great lengths.......
to try to discredit Ron Paul's succeses in all the straw polls around the nation.
Look for a guy named Robert Watson on this page of a thread I started about Ron Paul. His third post on this page is an incredibly impressive attempt to try to discredit Dr. Paul.
