What happens if I donate more than $2300? Do I get sent to Gitmo?
I ask because I've been donating over the course of 7 or 8 months. $100 here, $200 there, another few bucks for a moneybomb, etc. I basically don't know how much I've donated in the past year. I think I'm under the limit but I'm not exactly sure.

HQ has asked for 8.5 million BY february 5th. I assume they have that deadline for a reason.
Super Tuesday is done and paid for by now; these funds are for the next primaries to come-advance purchase of ads,etc.. Get a grip! And some perspective.
It's not a panic if the money does not show up before the 5th.
I really should appreciate these threads for their comic relief by now.
I just donated this past week, and this weekend bought more campaign materials from the main site. so feb. 1 will be about the next time i am able to donate. it's a great idea.
but do both,now and later.
god,i hope we will not get on this manic roller coaster of incessant threads about 'wait till the 5th' or 'do not wait until the 5th'.
GETTING OLD,people. worry about yourself and when you are donating, and allow others to make their own ADULT decisions.
I donated a small amount last night $25 and I will donate on Feb 1st and I will continue with donations based on my budget as well as purchase supplies from the campaign. I am also going to donate from my income tax when I find out how much I am getting back. I suggest everyone give a small amount to Ron Paul from their income tax refund. Do not give it all but a small amount will help. Everybody lives on a budget but small amounts are helpful.

Until I realized a lot of folks don't get paid until the end of the month. It will be the best time. Coordination= incentive. We've seen it work, and just donating now is cool, but brings in less money in the long run. Feb 1 is the day.
I believe money-bombs inspire people much more than random donations. It is exhilarating to see the total on RP's web-page go up by leaps and bounds every minute. Any people luke-warm to the cause are immediately taken aback by an obviously successful grass-roots effort when they see those huge sums of money in one day, and they want to be part of it.
I am much more likely to donate all I can when I know everyone else is together that day working for the same cause. Don't get me wrong... donating often is GREAT, but huge sums in one day give the campaign and grassroots a feeling of momentum ... AND ... it's the only time the press will cover us. I've personally seen more than one RP nay-sayer take him seriously after the moneybombs. If we spread ourselves out, we may be unnoticeable. If you can donate on other days, that's great, but please be sure to donate on the money-bomb day.
totally agree, I joined the campaign because of the money bomb attention and now I enjoy seeing that counter go up, up, up.. I'll be donating $1000 on feb 1. Please pass the word on forums, youtube, etc..
WHERE does it say that the campaign needs the money 'for FEB 5'? IT DOES NOT!
The campaign is requesting the money BY this date, not FOR this date.
You don't just call up a radio station or TV station on the morning of feb. 5 to say 'yea,i'd like to run an ad,in hopes that voters will catch it in time to decide to vote for me TODAY.'
Hello????????????
Let Feb. 1st be for people that will only donate because of the idea.
For example;
My family is in a transition period and money is tight right now. Every dime spent is only done on agreement between my wife and I. She has been very leary about donating to the campaign when we have a hard enough time paying bills, but she liked the idea of an anniversary present so much that I got her to agree to send a $51.00 anniversary present.
If you have direct contact with HQ, could you ask why the only way I know about the HQ Go for the Gold request, the new HQ video, major staff additions, etc. are if I visit *grass root* forums?
I get e-mails from "Ron Paul 2008" to two different e-mail addresses, so why aren't they sending out official announcements via e-mail?
The new staff additions were discussed in the forums yesterday, but the press release wasn't posted by HQ until *today*.
As of right now, there is still no mention of the new HQ video.
Oh, and the Go for the Gold does not have a *date/timestamp*, so it won't even work for one day money bombs!

Everyone sign up on Trevor Lyman's site: http://fiftyoneyears.com/
He had coordinated the ground shaking BOMBS in the past and more ppl are pledged on that site than anywhere else.

yes- money bombs work- BUT
last time i checked- feb 5th is 4 days after feb 1st...
the campaign needs money for that day-- advertising plans need to be made now--- not four days before the big day....
