Create a petition / pamphlet

I am ready to start moving forward.

I would like everyone here to give me your opinions on a petition that I can take around for signature's.
Maybe something to the effect of re callin our senators and congressman.
Will need an information pamphlet to hand out to everyone.

I really need every ones help on this. Got all this stuff bouncing around in my head and not sure if I can state it properly.

I got a little bit of cash put back to pay for pamphlets and such.

I can't sit and wait for someone else to do something.

Teach me, give me fundamentals that I lack so that I can be more effective when handing out the info/petition.

Lets come together and do this. Ron Paul has created an awakening.
We are woke up, whatcha gonna do bout it?

Thanks folks

for your input. Y'all got some great ideas.

I got 1 quote in this afternoon. I can get about 25,000 booklets that are spiral banded and have up to 40 pages in them.
After I posted this I got thinkin why not make a booklet that has some of todays hottest issues.
Have like a preface describing what the booklet is about, then have the 1st few pages as questions. Like Do you know where our money comes from and how it works. At the end of the question have a page number following it that gives the answer.

Close to the end of the booklet have a section with Bills that are before the house or senate and what effect they will have on us.

At the end it could have all of the states senators and congress numbers. It could also have a mini petition printed in it.

Of course this is just a rough draft idea. I want to make sure I have a lot of ideas and folks input on the layout. If I'm gonna put most of my resources in it I don't want it to be a flop.

Smudge, do you do website design? I'm not sure that Michael would want me to reference back to the DP. To bad you can't have a dot "truth" instead of a dot com/net.

Awesome post, Plantinseeds :-)

1. Reverse/Stop Common Core petition. Material for your state should be available online ( such as http://nopacommoncore.com )

2. H.R.75 co-sponsor/support petition. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/113/hr75

3. SUPPORT/Co-sponsor Liberty Preservation Act petition (makes it a crime for feds to come into your state and detain indefinitely without due process) - http://blog.tenthamendmentcenter.com/2013/08/pennsylvania-ac...

Another idea:

Look for a local gun/sporting show and rent a table for +/- $35. Hand out literature and ask people to sign petitions. Door to door and sore feet are completely eliminated, where else can you find hundreds/thousands of gun-toting Republicans in one single place :-)

"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul

Thought about this request after having treated you off handedly

Your request is highly non specific. There's a million ways to do petitions because they aren't normally part of official process. They are sort of an odd instrument of grassroots power if done properly which means they are either verified signatures or you manage to present them in a way politicians can't ignore. It's pure social pressure.

However, when petitioning try to keep the purpose and the intended recipients clearly in mind. And timing is everything. Check their calendar and keep an eye on current events. There's times to delay an action because the world's attention is elsewhere.

Pamphlets you can do in MS word, search for a "bi-fold" or "tri-fold" template. Not much graphic art expertise required. Remember to always place specific calls to action on every side or view of a pamphlet and place contact info and a further info link.

If you can determine the cost-per-sheet of your printer, great. Compare this to xeroxing a copy at Staples or whatever. You can often save money that way although print quality usually suffers.

Pamphlets are still great for large groups but anymore we do a lot more digital work. You might recall Allison Bricker's new graphic which is now an interactive education tool:

and this is next gonna get turned into an HTML email and possibly a "web app".

Note that having an HTML email doesn't mean you have a mailing list to send it to but that's where you probably wanna partner with someone who does.

Hope something in there helps.

You are good people

You covered this very well, I am reminded also that it might be important to check out what it takes to have a "legal" petition in his area?

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.
