Was Mariam Carey a Victim of Racial Discrimination?

With the incessant racial narratives pushed by the main stream media, I have to wonder why the question of racial discrimination has not yet been brought up in this case. If you look at racial discrimination strictly from a statistical viewpoint, it is incontrovertible that the two major areas which gross discrimination occur are police initiated violence towards minorities and harsh judicial treatment of minorities. I posit a question: "Would Mariam Carey be dead if she were a blond haired white woman?" Maybe or maybe not, but I think it is a good opportunity to address a well documented problem.

If you want an interesting take on this subject, there is a Chapter in Malcolm Gladwell's book "Blink" that addresses the issue of police discrimination. I found it interesting to find out that modern law enforcement training stresses the draw and shoot military technique in a deliberate effort to bypass a human beings ability to logically assess the situation.

The training was developed by the US military after WWII when many US soldiers admitted that even when being shot upon, they would not shoot directly back at enemy soldiers but over their heads as they had an aversion towards killing. The training schools actually advertise this "instinctual killing", or shoot no-shoot judgment feature, as they believe that police officers who draw and shoot instinctively lack the mens rea (guilty mind), the standard test for criminal liability, thereby shielding municipalities and departments from lawsuits. Officers say, "I perceived a threat, my training kicked in and I shot the guy." The Judge says, "Ohh, cool. You didn't think so you can't even be tried in court. Never mind that the Priest you shot was holding a crucifix, not a gun."

For one moment, consider a woman who was beaten by her dark-haired, bearded father. Her instinctual reaction upon seeing a dark-haired bearded man will likely be one indicating danger. These instinctual reactions are functions of the animal mind and are uncontrollable. If the actions she takes going forward are based upon her emotional state caused by this reaction, she is a slave to instinct and the past, unable to improve upon her condition. If the actions she takes going forward are based upon her own will in spite of the emotional response without suppression or repression, she is gradually freed and the irrational response will diminish with time. In general, this use of logic in the face of strong opposing emotion is what has caused an improvement in the human condition. If our actions are linked directly to instinctual anger murder would run rampant. People still get angry but can reason and temper their behavior. We don't just kill we think. This is part of what constitutes our human nature in addition to our animal nature. The aim of instinctual training is to retrograde the human machine into basing behavior first and foremost on the lower animal nature.

Racial identity, whether we like it or not, is part of our animal nature. We all came from different tribes, and at one time survival depended upon protecting your tribe against all outsiders. When we see someone with a very different appearance then ours, we can have an initial instinctual reaction that may come in part from this racial memory. For more and more people, their behavior towards the person they see is not based upon their emotional response until one day their initial reaction to all human beings is uniform. However, if your behavior is purposefully and continually linked to your instinctual responses, this racial identity cannot be overcome. The subconscious mind works by association so when tribe mentality is prevalent (think thin blue line), these racial identities can even be augmented.

So we really have one major issue, that offshoots an issue of racial discrimination. Officers are trained to use instinct and ignore their higher mental functions when in dangerous situations. When the benign stick laying on the ground in the dark is perceived as the poisonous snake the officer is trained to shoot without turning on the lights of human reasoning. Unfortunately this grievous error on the part of the officers perception more often than not lays waste to the lifeblood of a minority. I'm not sure if that is what happened here, but the saddest part of all is that based upon current training and law, it probably doesn't even matter.

Anyways, it is hard to solely blame the cops whom have been trained on realistic simulators where each decision is kill/don't kill, a training that was specifically designed by the US military so that more killing would occur. Was someone murdered here, my view is yes, but I cannot in good conscience lay complete blame on one group. Is it the cops' fault? Is it the American peoples' fault for allowing this crap to happen over and over? Is it the media's fault for brainwashing the public? Is it Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton's fault for refusing to address the real issues of discrimination? Does it even matter who's fault it is if we will not discuss the real problem? We shouldn't train human beings to be animals, period. Not in the school system, not in the political system, not in the military, and not in law enforcement.

Why did she drive 270 miles with a 1 yr old to the capital?

I believe all capital buildings were closed. Was there a purpose behind the long drive?

She was unmarried. Who was the father? Was she attempting to visit the father?

I don't know and don't want to speculate or assume. Is it possible that the baby the real story?

went to the capitol, I wouldn't question you. You and she have the right to travel wherever you wish as does anyone else. That human being was shot dead because? An overreaction of the DC police? However if I was to take a 270 mile road trip there would have to be a pretty good reason. Thats 9 hours round trip. 9 hours on the road with a 1 year old baby is not my idea of a good time or spur of the the moment decision.

Just saying there might be more to the story tan she just happened to show up at a barricade in DC. We have a lot of sharp investigative researchers here who might help provide some additional insight.

My opinion? She pissed off the "authorities" when she left the scene in a panic.

it has little to do with being part of a class or race, it has to do with the insane training that officers receive. Most police officers are not differentiating between servants and elites. They take action based upon horrible training which favors instinctive shooting, and senseless violence occurs. The discrimination comes about because of the training and is only a secondary issue.
